“This season celebrates theatre itself –illusion, disguise, performance – and all the ways that we delight, mislead, amaze and seduce each other. Life is a theatre, and theatre is life.”
– Artistic Director, Tim Carroll

The Shaw is in the middle of its most exciting transformation in 50 years. Soon, we will have a brand new Artists’ Village; shortly after that, we will have a new Royal George Theatre. All these projects are designed to help us become a centre where the incredible performances on our stages will inspire everyone to rediscover their inner artist.

Of course, for that to happen, we need to make sure that our performances are incredible. Our last few seasons have set the bar pretty high: the standard of acting, design, direction and staging in our shows is routinely referred to as world-class. We know, because you tell us, how proud you are to be Team Shaw.

This season, we want all of you—every member of Team Shaw—to come to every single show. Don’t just come to the ones you’ve heard of; see ‘em all. You won’t regret it.

It’s going to be a tremendous 2026 Season, as we look forward to the opening of the Shaw Artists’ Village and Community Engagement, Outreach and Education’s new home: the Burton Centre for Lifelong Creativity. We're thrilled to have a space for patrons, artists and thinkers to connect, collaborate, experiment and learn. The brand new labs, studios, meeting rooms and common spaces will host an array of vibrant programming — all designed to support and inspire your creative journey.

Dig in and be curious! Take a tour of the new Wardrobe department at the Village. Attend a lecture on the play you’re about to see. Be brave and try an improv workshop. Sing along with us! The benefits are immense. As we ramp up, there will be offerings added, so look to shawfest.com for full descriptions and details.

Welcome to your new centre for creativity, community and connection. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Cue the arrival of several, hitherto unknown and identical, Hickory Wood siblings (all played by the same actor) looking to claim what they're owed. Amadeus

Antonio Salieri is a pious, conscientious man—and the greatest composer in the Austrian Empire. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is a young, foolish show-off—and apparently no threat. Except that Salieri can hear what no one else can: this ridiculous boy is perhaps the greatest musical genius ever to have lived. How can God have played such a trick on Salieri? To reward his devotion by rubbing his nose in his own mediocrity? There is only one possible revenge: God’s beloved, Amadeus, must be destroyed. This story of genius and the price it extracts is one of the greatest and most ravishing experiences in theatrical history.

We are excited to welcome you and your group to The Shaw!

We are already hard at work behind the scenes preparing for a season that has something for everyone!

Our 2026 Season includes three amazing musicals. Two at the holidays with Rogers + Hammerstein’s beloved Cinderella and the multi-Tony nominated A Year with Frog and Toad, both perfect for families and kids from 8 to 80! But first, Funny Girl takes the stage. This spectacular musical, made famous by Barbra Streisand, looks at the life and career of comedienne and vaudeville star Fanny Brice and includes incredible songs and spectacle.

If your group seeks a laugh, they could enjoy either the fabulous, riotous farce that is One for the Pot, or join P.G. Wodehouse’s brilliant pairing of Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense. Peter Shaffer’s amazing classic, Amadeus, takes our mainstage in the summer, while his brother Anthony Shaffer’s masterpiece whodunit, Sleuth, arrives down the street at the Court House Theatre. In our Studio Theatre, the range runs from A.A. Milne’s adventures with Rat, Mr Toad and Mole in The Wind in the Willows, while for headier content we offer Shaw’s Heartbreak House and Adrienne Kennedy’s Ohio State Murders.

Beyond the stage, we are handcrafting unique programming to complement the productions, promote conversation, and make your group’s visit even more extraordinary. This year also launches our new spaces at the Burton Centre for Lifelong Creativity next to our Festival Theatre.

There is nothing that warms our hearts more than seeing young theatregoers in our audience! We know that today’s students are everyone’s future leaders, so having them invest in the arts and communication early is very important for all of us. The Shaw offers plenty of opportunities for students and young people to not only attend theatre, but to participate in workshops and activities to further enrich their experience, improve their empathy and presentation skills and to expand their understanding of the world around them. That way, as we pass them the reins, we know we will be in good hands.

The Shaw Festival is also the perfect excursion for business and leisure! Why not bring your clients, friends and colleagues to picturesque Niagaraon-the-Lake for an entertaining and idyllic group getaway? The very best of wine, food and culture in a world-class setting – what’s not to love?! – and we will work hard to ensure your visit is absolutely perfect.

We truly look forward to welcoming you back!

The Shaw’s Campaign for Real Human Connection.

There is an artist inside each of us. It is the essence of our shared humanity. But the world today has our heads down and our minds distracted. We are losing the ability to talk to each other, to look each other in the eye, to find solutions together.

We believe it’s time to change that. And that’s why we are launching the most ambitious campaign in the Shaw Festival’s history.

All.Together.Now.

This campaign will transform The Shaw into a buzzing campus of connection, creativity and curiosity. A home for all those who wish to put down their phones and remember that they are alive. A campaign to create the new Shaw Artists’ Village and Burton Centre for Lifelong Creativity and to rebuild our iconic Royal George Theatre. A campaign for real human connection. We will raise $150 million to achieve this bold vision. All.Together.Now. will focus on four key areas: experiences, training, artists and community, supported by enhanced and expanded spaces at the Festival and Downtown Campuses.

Please note

Line-ups at border crossings can cause hour-long delays and traffic on the QEW from Toronto is often quite heavy, especially on weekends. Plan to come early and enjoy the town. For border wait times visit cbsa.gc.ca or call 1-800-715-6722 and press ‘4’. For up-to-date travel document requirements visit cbsa.gc.ca (Canada) or travel.state.gov (U.S.)
