Architecture is more than the design of buildings. It’s the creation of spaces that resonate with human emotions and experiences. It’s a tool for storytelling, whether it’s about memory, identity, or celebrating heritage through designs that honor cultural traditions and values. Architecture is about merging form and function with meaning, shaping environments that reflect who we are and who we aspire to be. It’s a discipline where innovation meets empathy, and every design is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on both people and the world.

Canary Wharf
How can we bridge the gap between the financial and residential communities while honoring their differences?
Canary Wharf, once a bustling dockyard in the 1800s, has evolved into one of the UK’s largest financial districts, contrasting sharply with the surrounding residential areas. This juxtaposition inspired our design approach, aiming to bridge the gap between these communities by creating a facade and spaces that reflect both the dynamic energy of the financial district and the lived experience of the residential neighborhood.

FLOW
The site draws inspiration from the flowing symmetry of the River Thames, creating a sequence that embodies elegance and continuity. The organic structure ensures a seamless integration throughout the site, offering an environment that feels both sublime and ever-flowing to those who experience it.
The DART+ project aimed to revitalize the underutilized Lovers Lane Dart Station in Dallas by enhancing its connectivity to the community. The redesign focused on improving convenience, safety, and technology integration, with features like a DART Plus membership program, expanded space, and green areas. The project sought to transform the station into a destination, fostering stronger community interactions and ensuring a more welcoming and functional environment for commuters.

South Korean culture is a captivating blend of ancient traditions and cutting-edge modernity, reflecting a society deeply rooted in history yet constantly evolving. Influenced by Confucian values of respect for family and education, South Korea embraces innovation while preserving its rich cultural heritage. For this project we would be assigned one out of six countries to do research on to then create a pavilion that would represent it at the Osaka 2025 World Expo.
Korean Celadon is a type of ceramic pottery known for its distinct greenish-blue glaze, developed during the Goryeo dynasty in Korea. Its significance represents a pinnacle of artistic achievement, celebrating delicate beauty, advanced ceramic techniques and exquisite craftsmanship. It symbolizes cultural heritage, technological innovation, and aesthetic values, embodying principles of harmony, elegance and reverance for nature
According to eastern belief, an artist must immerse themselves into the clay for a pure end result. The work is not a conscious conclusion resulting from continuous planning and calculation, but rather a natural evolution. Clay provides a universal language. The forms created by clay give us connection among cultures. Life and environment is maintained in clay, captured by the creative sensibility of the artist. It provides both a product and a process for developing culture. This pavilion aims to guide visitors through the clay making process, illustrating significance and potential to shape future societies.

As Fort Worth modernizes, its cultural heritage risks fragmentation under the forces of urbanization and globalization. EchoNesia envisions a future where architecture preserves and activates cultural memory, safeguarding it for generations to come. By encoding, storing, and retrieving fragmented moments, the project creates immersive spaces that embody the fluid and evolving nature of memory. Through cylindrical silos and fragmented geometries, EchoNesia bridges the past and future, ensuring that Fort Worth’s traditions endure in an ever-changing world.

Linear Memory
Fragmented Memory
Fragmentation is key to the design, reflecting how memories are non-linear, disjointed, and often reconstructed. This sporadic approach is realized through varied spatial forms, sensory interactions, and programmatic elements. The silos culminate in a central memory library or vault, symbolizing the synthesis of fragmented memories into lasting, collective narratives. The project emphasizes human experience, cultural preservation, and the dynamic processes of memory formation and recall.

Fall 2024
When entering this competition, my teammate and I saw it as an opportunity to explore the interplay between emotions and the spaces we, as humans, inhabit. It also allowed us to reflect on and express our feelings about the current discourse surrounding the Mexico–United States border. Initially, the ambiguity of the topic left us feeling disoriented, but as we progressed through the design process, we gained a deeper understanding of what it means to be an immigrant in the United States.
