t was a busy time around Kearny recently as two major events took place — the annual Kearny High School Project Graduation volleyball tournament and the annual Passaic River cleanup. In the photo on the left, the Kearny Police and Fire departments played each other in one of the night’s biggest fundraising matches. In the photo on the right, a Kearny youngster was one of the many volunteers who volunteered to remove debris and all sorts of junk from the banks of the Passaic River at the town’s annual cleanup event.
