T
he renaissance in Bergen County’s park system continues locally as ground was to be broken in River-
side County Park in North Arlington for a new amphitheater and comfort station at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26. Bergen County officials were to be on hand for the groundbreaking, most notably Commissioner Steve Tanelli, of North Arlington.

After COVID hiatus, PAWRade returns this weekend
Following a one-year hiatus caused by COVID-19, Kearny’s annual PAWrade returns Oct. 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Arlington Depot Park. A Doggie Halloween Costume Contest headlines the festival. Proof of a current dog license and upto-date rabies vaccine is required with complete registration. Pre-registration is available through Oct. 27 online at forms.gle/pYUbnVVPACSGX5Uu8.

Shelter and Associated Humane Society-Newark Branch. Also scheduled is free microchipping, a Doggie Paint Collage, a “Doggie Bone Yard,” a Doggie Halloween Balloon Photo Wall, Sugar Skull Dog Portraits, a meet and greet with Blue from Blue’s Clues, a Pitty (Pit Bull) Kissing Fundraising Booth and more.
