PATU BECAME KESLA

The durable and reliable tractor equipment known under the PATU brand became KESLA-branded in 2006, when Kesla’s product brands were unified. The products continue along the same people-oriented and durable line.

Kesla’s tractor equipment is manufactured in Kesälahti. Kesla Plc’s factory has been operating there since 1974, when the company transferred its production from Rantasalmi to Kesälahti.

LOADERS

Control valve options Excellent loading characteristics Thanks to the wide-angle joint, the loader offers excellent close-range loading performance. The short lift boom ensures agile operation – without compromising on long reach.

Smart hose routing In all Kesla loaders, the hoses are well protected and easily serviceable. Dual-extension models are equipped with a roller guide.

Stabilizers When the loader is mounted on a forestry trailer drawbar, our range of stabilizers provides stability even when handling heavy loads, regardless of terrain. The stabillizer structure allows for the installation of an LS pump setup as part of the loader–trailer package.

Easy maintenance KESLA loaders are designed for straightforward servicing. The hydraulic filtration is located at the base of the slewing cylinders, and the slewing mechanism is equipped with inspection windows. Oil changes are easy, lubrication points are comprehensively provided as standard, and the hydraulic hose connection points are designed according to professional users’ preferences. A central lubrication system is available as an option. 4

There are several different control valve options available: mechanical, hydraulically pilot-operated, or electrically pilot-operated control valves. Electrically pilot-operated control valves are installed on the loader’s lift boom.

Robust slewing mechanism Oil-lubricated, cast, 2-cylinder slewing mechanism. The slewing angle is 380 or 420 degrees, depending on the loader model.

Rotator and link A wide selection of the best rotators and links on the market. A reliable, continuously rotating rotator.

Powerful lights Completely redesigned and more efficient LED lights. The new lights are positioned under the boom knuckle joint and on top of the outer boom.

Boom system

The boom systems are made entirely of high-quality, Finnish SSAB STRENX™ steel.

KESLA proG grapples Generous jaw width, correct geometry, and strong gripping force.

Long-lasting bearings High-quality, long-lasting bearings with extremely low friction coefficients. The low friction coefficients also contribute to fuel savings. The shafts are made of quenched and tempered steel, offering excellent sliding properties, corrosion resistance, and a hard surface. DURABLE STEEL FOR LOADERS The boom systems of KESLA loaders are made from Strenx steel. The grapple frames are made of Strenx, and the jaws are made of Hardox, ensuring lightness, durability, and maximum wear resistance.

The KESLA 224 is a single-extension loader offering a 7.0 m reach and 7% more lifting power than its predecessor. The loader’s boom system has been completely redesigned, further improving lifting geometry, especially in close-range lifting performance. The loader requires only 190 bar of pressure. The knuckle geometry has been modified to reduce oil consumption during work cycles, while clearly improving folding force compared to the previous model. The hose routing is cleaner throughout. The base of the slewing mechanism has been redesigned in line with the 320 series, providing the best possible visibility into the load space and keeping the hoses well protected. At the same time, the filter location has been moved to the base of the slewing mechanism, making replacement clearly easier than before.

KESLA 19GX MULTIPURPOSE GRAPPLE 22

KESLA 19GX MULTIPURPOSE GRAPPLE The KESLA 19GX multipurpose grapple is designed for cutting and loading energy wood. Its simple structure and operating principle make it highly reliable. The multipurpose grapple is easy to install, as no additional hose routing or electrical connections are required.

The unit features a hydraulic integrated TILT function, allowing the operator to decide when the tree will fall. The cutting blade of the felling head can be easily turned away, enabling the grapple to be used for loading timber like a standard grapple. The KESLA 19GX is suitable for use with KESLA 200 and 300 series loaders.

FOREST TRAILERS

KESLA forestry trailers are suitable for transporting timber ranging from stumps to pulpwood and logs. With brush sides (optional equipment), the trailer can also be used for transporting stones, firewood, brushwood, or other materials.

Heavy-duty bolsters and stakes Strong frame The strong and torsion-resistant frame is robust yet lightweight in structure, allowing the user to carry more payload on the trailer. Filling and unloading the load space is easy.

The lower edge of the bolster features serrations that keep even slippery logs securely in place longitudinally. The stakes are reinforced at the folding point. The heavy-duty bolsters are mounted directly to the trailer’s main frame tube. This allows optimal positioning of the bolsters and stakes, and also enables them to be repositioned according to the user’s needs. Anti-rotation pins at the base of the stakes prevent unintended rotation and accidental lifting out of the load space.

Practical load space KESLA forestry trailers can be equipped with standard tubular stake bolsters, plate bolsters, or, directly from the factory, for example with brush sides.

Versatile drive options KESLA forestry trailers can be equipped with versatile drive options: HD (Robson) or ND 2WD/4WD (hub drive).

Wide tire selection KESLA forestry trailers are available with both narrow and wide tire options. All tires are fitted with inner tubes, and all wheel sets feature reinforced forestry rims and protected valves.

Drawbar Front screen and screen support In all KESLA forestry trailers, the front screen can be relocated to the loader position with minor additional modifications. This extra feature significantly improves trailer usability when the loader is mounted on the tractor’s rear axle. The screen supports provide additional reinforcement for the screen and ensure that the first pair of bolsters always remains in the correct position.

Versatile brake options Depending on the model, the trailers can be equipped with drum brakes or hydraulic disc brakes for either two or four wheels. Air-over-hydraulic brake systems are available for all trailer models, and a brake system with a parking brake is also available (104–144).

The drawbar is steerable and equipped with two hydraulic cylinders. It can also be locked in a fixed position, for example for road transport. The locking mechanism in the new models is even stronger than before. Several eye options are available for the drawbar.

EU type approval – MR 30 km/h Approval for road use The MR 30 km/h type approval defines the requirements for operating a tractor and a towed implement on public roads in Europe and in countries where equivalent regulations apply. The so-called European “Mother Regulation” (EU 167/2013) now also applies to equipment towed behind a tractor, such as trailers, when used in public road traffic.

Road use includes, for example: • Driving a tractor and towed implement combination on a public road • Crossing a public road with such a combination MR 30 km/h equipment for KESLA trailers A trailer compliant with MR 30 km/h regulations must be equipped with at least the following items required for approval: • Dual-circuit, four-wheel air or hydraulic brakes (165 model: dual-circuit hydraulic brakes) • Tires with a maximum overall width of 2,550 mm (165 model: 2,750 mm, allowing 710/40-22.5” tires) • Standard-compliant rear lights and reflectors • MR 30 km/h road traffic kit (including reflectors and EU 167/2013 type approval)
