Harrodsburg was established in 1774 by pioneer James Harrod. Originally known as Harrod’s Town or Harrodstown, it was the
first permanent settlement west of the Allegheny Mountains. The town has come a long way since then, and today, it is a mix of
pieces from the past and contemporary necessities.
