Welcome to the 5th Annual JW Cattle Corp. Bull and Commercial Bred Heifer Sale. New this year, we are excited to host a live sale at the farm on March 5th at 1:00 p.m.

We would like to sincerely thank our past, present, and repeat customers for their continued confidence in our program. Your support over the past 30 years is truly appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

There has never been a better time to be in the cow/calf business. With cattle prices as high as they’ve ever been and strong demand ahead, we believe the outlook for the industry is as positive as it has ever been.

In 2011, we made a significant shift in our program by moving to an April/May calving season and marketing bulls at 21–22 months of age. This allows us to develop bulls with longevity and real-world functionality in mind. Every bull in this offering has gone through a rigorous culling process based on phenotype, structural correctness, foot quality and quality of dam – the same traits we demand in our own herd sires. Our wet, soft summer conditions truly put feet to the test, making sound feet and quality udders a top priority in our program, now and always.

We take pride in being disciplined and consistent in our selection process. Approximately 60% of our calf crop is culled annually, ensuring customer satisfaction and leaving us with what we believe is a uniform, high-quality group of bulls and heifers that we are confident and proud to offer.

We strongly encourage you to come evaluate the bulls and heifers in person. We would be happy to show you the cow herd and any siblings, allowing you to make the most informed decision possible to benefit your operation. If you are unable to attend, please don’t hesitate to call or text – we will gladly offer our honest opinion, just as if we were selecting bulls for our own program. Mark from OBI Livestock Ltd. or Shane from Castlerock Marketing will also be available to assist you.

Thank you again for your interest and support. We look forward to visiting with you and hope to see you March 5th at the farm.

Sincerely, Wayne, Jane, Logan & Keaton

MR WILSON 1046J DMM BLACKBIRD 105A

59M is a powerful, heavy made bull with as much middle depth and thickness as any we have raised. He maintains excellent structural soundness and travels on outstanding feet. The dam, 26A, has been a productive producer for us with sons selling to Neil Molzahn, Shane Allen and Keith Sotlar with another 3 daughters retained in the herd. The sire, Merit Mr. Wilson 1046J, has done a great job here adding power, hair and consistency. His sons are early maturing and his daughters have the predictability that 105A provides. Recommended for larger heifers or cows.

84M has all the pieces and is certainly easy to find. Combining moderate birthweight with an explosive phenotype. Masculine yet attractive in his makeup with a quiet disposition. His dam, 22H, has knocked it out of the park, posting an average weaning ratio of 113 on four calves. One that is destined for the donor pen with both her production record and look to match. Sound structured, deep sided and suitable for heifers. RETAINING A 1/3 SEMEN INTEREST.

Here’s another Mr.Wilson son that we like more every day. He catches your eye with an attractive, cocky, up-headed look backed by a super disposition. Moves around like a cat with above average heel. His dam, 51C, is as productive as any here with sons going to Dean Weigand (2023) and James Whalen (2025), along with three top daughters retained. She is easy-doing and sports a picture-perfect udder. Take a good look at 114M, he should have plenty of friends come sale day, as he is certainly the type we are trying to replicate. Recommended for larger heifers or cows. RETAINING A 1/3 SEMEN INTEREST.

BLACK ANGUS 2 YEAR OLD BULLS

• Explosive in his design, with added crest and natural thickness

• Wide based and correct standing on a big hoof

• This will be our first set of 49G sons to sell, we were impressed with how he matured and bred on the commercial side, which led us to incorporate him into our purebred program after seeing the quality of his daughters. Being out of our 13D donor makes him a paternal brother to our high-selling bull last year, selling to HR Hahn Cattle Co. at Sherwood Park

• Recommended for larger heifers or cows.

Here’s the highest performing red bull and a true standout at that. A big framed bull by our standards, yet it’s impressive how he maintains depth and capacity for his frame. He’s been ahead of the curve in terms of performance at all stages. You’ll notice several Freyja x Krimson bulls throughout this book, we used Krimson on many of our very best cows, and his dam, 7H, is no exception. She is an own daughter of our 30B donor, making her a sister to the 154E donor. This is the first set of Krimson sons we have offered, they are not extreme in any one area; rather, they bring consistency, dark red color, and strong maternal quality, with daughters that look to be long-term mainstays here. Use 6M to add pounds without sacrificing maternal traits. Recommended for cows.

The most moderate made bull in the offering, unique in his type and kind, soggy, dark blood red with an attractive look. His dam, 55K, is a moderate, easy-doing, thick Little Deep daughter with a great udder. She is just beginning her story here and will be a key piece of our program moving forward, offering what we call 154E type feet the standard we strive to replicate. A full brother to 119M is a standout in the pen for next year. A true sleep at night calving ease bull that will add muscle, soundness and maternal strength.

Here’s a feature heifer bull, correct from front to back. He may not stand out for being a high performing power bull but he’s one that the more you look at him the more that can be appreciated. Ideal skull and front end design with that 154E type look to him. His dam, 154E, is ideal in so many ways for us, she has become our lead donor as we want to make as many of her as possible. She sets the gold premium for foot quality, if you are serious on honing in on feet, then this is a cow to keep an eye on. As for the production record, it speaks for itself, 3 sons have been highsellers in our bull sale along with a beautiful daughter retained in our herd. His granddam, 30B, has also been flushed for us, excelling in the fundamental traits that we prioritize. A younger bull with tremendous potential, he could quietly sire some of the best calves in the offering, backed by some of our best mother cows.

RED ANGUS 2 YEAR OLD BULLS

124M

RED ROSEHOLM SPECIALIST 124M

Here’s a full brother to one of my favorite bulls that we raised and sold to Brendan Gerig in 2023. 124M is a spitting image of his brother at this stage of development, outlier thickness and muscle with good feet. His dam, 157E, is an excellent footed Regiment daughter that has consistently proved her stay here with yet another top end bull calf in the pen for next year. This late May calf takes the guess work out of things, bid with confidence on this young stud.
