IMPORTANT NOTICE TO BUYERS All potential bidders are encouraged to read the Conditions of Sale and all-important notices in the catalogue before bidding. Prospective buyers have the right and responsibility to examine any horse prior to purchase. Veterinary assistance may be obtained at the bidder's expense. Please pay close attention to announcements made from the auction stand. Any corrections or announcements made at sale time will take precedence over information printed in the catalogue.
SALE INFORMATION Select Yearlings may be viewed in their stalls on the day of the sale and through the online video preview. Pedigrees will be read, and yearlings will be sold by auctioneer. The CBHI Breeders Select Yearling Horse Sale begins at 7:30 PM.
BIDDING & DISPUTES The highest bidder shall be the buyer. In the event of a dispute between two or more bidders, the auctioneer has sole authority to settle the dispute and may reopen bidding between the parties involved. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The right to bid is reserved for all sellers in this sale unless otherwise announced and will be classified as a buyback.
TELEPHONE BIDDING
Telephone bidding is available; however, ALL TELEPHONE BIDDING ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SALE. To register, contact auctioneer Darren Shaw at 1-403-892-4493 prior to sale start time. Bidder and payment information will be collected when arrangements are made.
PAYMENT All horse purchases must be paid for by the end of the sale. Payment may be made by cash, personal cheque with proper identification, or credit card. A 3% processing fee will be added to all credit card payments. 5% GST WILL BE CHARGED ON ALL SALES.
IMPORTANT - SUPER STAKES ELIGIBILITY Purchase of a yearling through the CBHI Breeders Select Yearling Horse Sale does not automatically make that yearling eligible for CBHI Super Stakes Bonus Money. Yearlings eligible for Super Stakes Bonus Money must be from a nominated stallion and meet the applicable Super Stakes requirements, including yearlings designated as a Farm Pick or resulting from a stallion that participated in the Super Stakes Stallion Auction. Eligible yearlings will receive a Super Stakes Certificate. Buyers are encouraged to confirm the Super Stakes eligibility of any yearling prior to bidding.
CBHI SUPER STAKES All CBHI Super Stakes horses are sold with an additional $75 fee added to the final bid.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF PURCHASE & RESPONSIBILITY As each horse is sold, an "ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF PURCHASE" will be provided to the buyer for signature. Buyers must provide their full name and complete mailing address clearly and accurately. Upon signing the Acknowledgment of Purchase, the horse becomes the property of the buyer, who assumes all risk, responsibility and expenses associated with the horse. Once payment has been received, the sale clerk will mark the Acknowledgment of Purchase PAID, authorizing the buyer to obtain transport for the horse. The buyer is responsible for the horse's care and well-being following the sale.
REGISTRATION PAPERS & TRANSFERS Buyers are advised to compare the written description and markings on the AQHA/APHA registration papers with the horse purchased. CBHI assumes no responsibility for incorrect registration papers, although we will make every effort to ensure necessary corrections are completed. Sale staff will hold all registration papers until payment has cleared. Registration papers, transfer certificates and fees will then be forwarded to AQHA/APHA for transfer to the new owner. Consignors pay transfer fees at consignment.
CATALOGUE INFORMATION & ANNOUNCEMENTS Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained in this catalogue. CBHI and the auctioneer assume no liability for statements, written or verbal, concerning any horse sold other than information provided in good faith. Any known corrections or changes will be announced at sale time, and announcements made from the auction stand will take precedence over information printed in the catalogue.
WARRANTY & SALE OF HORSES There is NO WARRANTY, expressed or implied, by the consignor or CBHI as to the soundness, merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose of any horse offered in this sale. ALL HORSES ARE SOLD "AS IS". Prospective buyers are responsible for examining horses prior to bidding and should rely upon their own examination and judgment when making a purchase.
AGENCY & LIABILITY CBHI, the auctioneer and sale employees act as agents for the seller and assume no liability for either the buyer or seller. Any representations made by CBHI are made on behalf of the seller. All horses are offered for sale according to the laws of the Province of Alberta.
