Greetings from Nemadji GC!
Springtime is right around the corner, and we have been busy at Nemadji getting ready for our upcoming 2026 golf season. Our Indoor Simulators are still open seven days a week, along with the Greens View Grille. We will keep them operating till the end of March and then we will take them down to get ready for our Easter Buffett, Sunday April 5th in the Greens View Grille.
New merchandise has been arriving daily in the Pro Shop. Check out the new TaylorMade Qi4D line of equipment when you stop in to purchase your 2026 Season Pass. Don’t forget if you purchase your pass before April 1st, you will be entered into a drawing to win a $250 Driving Range Card.
We are now accepting applications for all Men’s Club Leagues. Stop in the Pro Shop to sign up your team. In addition, 2026 Men’s Club Cards are available for purchase. If you plan on participating in any Men’s Club event or league this season, be sure to get your card early. Some save the dates for 2026:

Christian Houle (Sales & Marketing Manager) has been busy reworking our website this off season. We hope to roll out a new user-friendly version later this month. The 2026 Nemadji Golf Academy Information is now posted online. Sign up your junior golfer for our instructional program and our newly revamped Junior Golf League. Grady Hauswirth (PGA Apprentice) has been busy coming up with a new structure for our Junior Golf League to hopefully drive more Juniors to COME OUT AND PLAY.
Also, don’t forget to sing up your junior golfer for the Drive, Chip & Putt Local Qualifier on Friday, July 10th right here at Nemadji GC. Registration is now open at www.drivechipandputt.com. This event is FREE to enter and gives junior golfers the opportunity to compete for a chance to win a trip to the famed Augusta National Golf Club.

As the snow starts to melt and longer days return, we’re getting ready to welcome spring at the Greens View Grille! March is that perfect in-between season where comfort food still hits the spot, but the excitement for patio weather and golf season is right around the corner.

We are still in the process of hiring beverage carts/servers/bartenders for the season and we encourage all people to apply if interested.

A Note from our Superintendent
I still can’t believe that as I sit here writing this, I was playing golf in Saint Paul just 72 hours ago. I’ll admit, there was a little anxiety standing over that first putt of the year rolling it through a patch of snow and ice on the green. Thankfully, by the time we made the turn, the snow had melted and it actually felt like spring.
Fast forward to today, and we’ve got three inches of snow on the ground, with not a blade of grass visible outside my office window at Nemadji. Sometimes you have to wonder does weather like this only happen in Superior? Fifty-five and sunny at noon, and twenty-two with snow just a few hours later.
Despite the rollercoaster weather, signs of the season are starting to show. The first of our seasonal maintenance staff has returned, and more will be joining us soon as we begin our annual spring cleanup both on the golf course and around the facility. Along with clearing branches and debris that winter leaves behind, we’re also looking ahead to a few projects aimed at improving the overall experience at Nemadji.
Once the snow clears from the cart paths, we’ll be identifying and repairing the worst potholes to create a smoother ride. We’ll also be focusing on our bridges, exploring options to add runners that will help improve both playability and durability. Our hope is that these improvements not only enhance the experience, but also encourage golfers to utilize the cart paths whenever possible.
In addition, we are in the early planning stages of updating the landscaping around the pro shop and clubhouse entrances, along with replacing sections of sidewalk to help eliminate trip hazards and improve overall accessibility.
You may have seen recent job postings for our Nemadji Maintenance Team, either online or in last month’s newsletter. We are still actively looking to fill several seasonal positions, including 1–2 landscape/gardening roles, 2–4 equipment operators, and an Assistant Superintendent.
I want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our seasonal staff from this past year who are moving on to further schooling or new opportunities. Your hard work and dedication played a big role in the success of our season, and we truly appreciate everything you’ve contributed to Nemadji.
I’d also like to take a moment to sincerely thank former Assistant Superintendent George Bibeau for the incredible dedication, care, and hard work he has given to Nemadji Golf Course over the past six seasons. George has been a big part of what makes this place special, and his impact will certainly be felt moving forward.
While we’re sad to see him go, we’re excited for him as he takes the next step in his career as an Assistant Superintendent. We wish George and his family nothing but happiness and success in this new chapter.
Golf course maintenance is truly a team effort, and George played a key role in helping build the strong, passionate team we have today here at Nemadji.
Hopefully by the time I write next month’s newsletter the green grass is showing, and golf balls are flying outside on the driving range and even the golf course.

Blatnik Bridge Project
We know a ton of golfers make their way to Nemadji from Duluth and we want to keep you updated on the Blatnik Bridge Project scheduled to start in 2026. While we don’t foresee any interruption to the 2026 golf season, we will make sure to keep you updated with all the relevant information and alternate routes to the golf course The bridge is expected to be closed to traffic for four to five years; currently, the closure is anticipated to begin in 2027. The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic in 2031.
Closing Thoughts
Spring is trying its best to break through and we are getting eager to get moving with the season. The golf shop is getting put together and our new merchandise is on the way. I encourage everyone to go take a look at our new homepage on the website and continue to check back for updates throughout the spring.
We have openings in almost every department and are eager to start hiring out staff for the summer. We have some great employees returning from last year and a few new ones already on board.

Our entire team is hard at work getting everything ready and we are excited to get back into full swing shortly!
