Dear Members,
Following a beautiful Memorial Day weekend, we welcome the month of June and all that comes with the beginning of summer at McHenry Golf Club The weather has been terrific, the golf course is in great shape, and Club 22 is off to a fantastic start With the recent additions of Greg Osgood, Membership Sales & Marketing Manager, and Mark Raymond, Lead Assistant Professional, we look forward to continuing to provide the exceptional service our membership has come to expect.
As we honored those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country over Memorial Day weekend, we also kicked off our Folds of Honor Raffle, supporting the families of fallen service members. Be sure to stop by the Golf Shop to purchase your raffle tickets and support this outstanding cause.
Below are a few key updates and highlights as we look ahead:
Course & Grounds
With course playing conditions in excellent shape, our Agronomy Team is turning its attention to detail work and enhancement projects throughout the property The Hole #9 Pond Beautification Project has been completed, with only the installation of the accent fountain remaining Once finished, the visual appeal of our par-3 ninth hole will be greatly enhanced
Golf Events
We are excited for a busy month of golf ahead, including Evans Scholars Day and the first Club Major of the season the Member-Member Tournament Registration remains open for these June events, and registration for additional summer events will be opening soon
Food & Beverage Updates
Club 22 has enjoyed a strong start with our All-Day Menu and Friday Dinner Service We are excited to introduce new dining experiences, including Sunday Brunch and Saturday Supper Club featuring Prime Rib. As our culinary and service teams continue to elevate the dining experience, we look forward to welcoming you and your guests to enjoy our evolving menus and special offerings.
As we continue our efforts to grow both our Golf and Social Memberships, we encourage you to share your positive experiences and refer friends, family members, and colleagues who may be interested in joining McHenry Golf Club. Be sure to take advantage of our Membership Referral Program currently in place.

Greg brings a genuine love of the game, 15 years of enterprise‑level customer success experience, and a strong background in member and client relationships, most recently as the General Manager of Drivetime Indoor Golf and Club House Operations at Valley Ridge Golf Course. He believes the heart of a great club is the way people feel when they’re here. As a courtesy to our members, we’re pleased to pro-rate the 2026 dining minimum requirement by $75 (Family) and $50 (Individual) for this season. Please note, the dining minimum may be applied toward food purchases only and has been retroactively tracking on your house account beginning April 2026.
At the close of the season, only remaining unspent portion of the dining minimum will be charged:
• Individual Memberships: $450 to be spent by 12/31/26
• Family Memberships: $675 to be spent by 12/31/26
Kindly note that we’re only able to track and honor purchases made through your house account.

CLUB 22 CLUB 22 Saturday Saturday Supper Club Supper Club
Good morning McHenry Golf Club! The chefs and I are very excited to launch our first Saturday night supper club this weekend! We will continue to bring in new products and try out some new dishes. This weekend we are bringing in calamari and mahi-mahi. Chef Jorge put together an amazing steak sandwich and we are preparing a watermelon gazpacho. We are also putting the finishing touches on the menu at the halfway house, look out for that very very soon!

SUPERINTENDENT’SUPDATE
Dear Members,
As we move into the heart of summer, I wanted to provide an update on course conditions and share some exciting news regarding recent improvements to the property
Summer temperatures are here, the warmer weather has certainly arrived, and with it comes a shift in how we manage the golf course. Our main focus will be on watering the golf course just enough without watering too much. Higher temperatures place additional stress on turfgrass, particularly on greens, tees, and high-traffic areas Watering the plant removes the stress, but watering too much creates more problems with disease pressure Our maintenance team will be closely monitoring moisture levels daily, adjusting irrigation schedules, and implementing cultural practices designed to keep playing surfaces healthy throughout the summer months. As heavy rainfall exposes the areas that need drainage, the drought reveals the obvious areas lacking of irrigation coverage. You will notice occasional hand watering, syringing of greens during particularly hot afternoons, and other proactive measures aimed at protecting turf quality These preventative practices help us maintain firm, consistent playing conditions while minimizing heat stress We also encourage members to assist in preserving course conditions by repairing ball marks, filling divots, and following cart traffic guidelines during periods of extreme heat.
I am pleased to announce that our pond improvement project on hole #9 has been completed This project was undertaken to enhance both the appearance and functionality of the water feature while improving overall course drainage and environmental sustainability. The completed work includes shoreline restoration, improved water circulation, and enhanced aesthetics that complete the surrounding landscape. In addition to creating a more attractive feature on the course, these improvements will help maintain better water quality and provide long-term benefits for both course playability and environmental stewardship
I would like to thank all members for their patience and understanding throughout the construction process. We are very pleased with the final result and believe it will be an asset to the course for many years to come
Looking ahead, summer is one of the busiest and most rewarding times of the year for our maintenance team Our focus remains on providing the best possible playing conditions while protecting the long-term health of the golf course. We appreciate your support and cooperation as we navigate the challenges that summer weather can bring We will be working long hard hours on the golf course to get all the work done Please be patient with the maintenance team when hand watering of the greens is taking place We will do our best to be out of the way as soon as possible, minimizing our impact on the golfers' round of golf.
