FROM THE GM’S DESK Dear Members, As we close out a successful July, August brings an exciting month of golf, dining, and member experiences. Course conditions continue to remain in great shape, while Club 22 offers outstanding weekly specials and daily à la carte dining. With a full calendar of events, August provides many opportunities to enjoy all that McHenry Golf Club has to offer. Below are a few updates and highlights as we look ahead. Golf Events The MGC Invitational concluded in epic fashion, with a birdie on the first sudden-death playoff hole of the Horserace to determine this year's champions. It was an outstanding three-day event featuring practice rounds, the Par-3 Challenge, Round Robin matches, exceptional tee gifts, outstanding food, and an exhilarating Horserace Shootout to close the weekend. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year's Invitational another tremendous success. We look forward to hosting an even bigger and better event next season. August begins with the third MGC Major of the season—the Ladies' and Men's Club Championships. More than 60 competitors participated in this 54-hole stroke play championship, all vying for the distinguished honor of becoming the 2026 Club Champion. After a postponement of the second round due to inclement weather, the exciting final round was moved to Saturday, August 8th. All flights remained tightly contested at the top of their respective leaderboards, with several of the championships coming down to the final holes, creating an exciting finish for both the players and spectators. We proudly congratulate our 2026 McHenry Golf Club — Club Champions — Erica Carlson and Ron Waytula! Registration is now open in Whoosh for both the 2 Jacks and a Jill event and our final Major Championship of the season, the Calcutta. We encourage everyone to register early and take advantage of the outstanding events that remain on this year's golf calendar. Food & Beverage Updates Club 22 continues to build momentum through evolving menu offerings, successful private banquet events, and a growing Social Membership. We're especially excited about our upcoming Sunday Brunch and Saturday Supper Club experiences and look forward to welcoming you and your guests. Membership Growth As we move through the second half of the season, we remain focused on growing both our Golf and Social Memberships. Word-of-mouth referrals continue to be one of our greatest strengths, and we encourage you to share your positive experiences with friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues who may be interested in becoming part of the McHenry Golf Club community. MAKING THE ROUNDS MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING UPDATES
Dear Members, What an exciting month it has been! I am thrilled to share highlights from our recent events and a look at what is coming up. Brunch Open House – July 19th The Club 22 Sunday Brunch was a hit! The food was incredible and the conversations with prospective members were even better. We generated strong leads and officially welcomed a new member to the MGC family. Thank you for bringing guests and showing off the best dining experience on the Fox River. Our next Open House is August 9th, so make sure to bring friends. Member for a Day Golf Event – July 20th Forty-six golfers joined us on a normally closed Monday, exposing our championship course to local golfers from surrounding towns and as far away as the western and southern suburbs. We generated revenue, earned rave course reviews, and proved why we are the best private Golf Club in Northeastern Illinois. Huge thanks to our Club Ambassadors and Pros who played alongside our guests. Another Member for a Day event is scheduled for August 24th! Social Media Momentum Since late May, our content has racked up over 200,000 views, with 80% of the views coming from non-followers. Every day we reach new audiences who discover our incredible club. HONORING CHAR MCLEAR’S LIFE AND LEGACY Two commemorative stones have been placed at our driving range, dedicated by the Illinois Women’s Golf Association, in recognition of the the extraordinary legacy of Char McLear. Char’s impact on golf stretched across decades. She served on the USGA Women’s Amateur Public Links Committee, worked as a USGA rules official, qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open three times, and spent over 30 years on the IWGA board, earning the IWGA Senior Women’s Amateur title three times. At McHenry Golf Club, she was an Equity board member, co‑chaired the McHenry Women’s Invitational, and won the Women’s Club Championship thirteen straight years. Her service extended well beyond golf. Char spent 42 years with the National Ski Patrol, supported emergency teams across multiple states, and deployed with Team Rubicon for disaster relief. She also broke barriers as the first female member of the Barrington Fire Department, serving 32 years and rising to Assistant Chief. Char’s life reflected leadership, service, and dedication. The stones dedicated in her honor stand as a lasting tribute to her influence on McHenry Golf Club and the broader golf community.

DINING MINIMUM UPDATE We are now able to track dining minimums! To check your current balance, please contact Corrin Blake at (815) 385-1086 or blake@mchenrygolfclub.com. As a courtesy to our members, we’ve pro-rate the 2026 dining minimum by $50 (Individual) and $75 (Family) Your dining minimum applies to food purchases and has been tracking on your house account since April. At the close of the season, any remaining unspent portion of the dining minimum will be charged: • Individual Memberships: $450 to be spent by 12/31/26 • Family Memberships: $675 to be spent by 12/31/26 Thank you for your continued membership and support — we appreciate being part of your 2026 season.

SUPERINTENDENT’S UPDATE Dear Members, August brings humidity, hot temperatures, and peak seasonal play, all of which add stress to our turf. Proper watering protects our greens, tee boxes, and fairways during these tough summer weeks. Our goal is to provide the perfect amount of water on the golf course, combined with the additional rainfall. Like Goldilocks and the Three Bears: not too much, not too little, but just the right amount to maintain a firm and fast golf course while continuing to keep it alive. With all of these factors at work our turf is working overtime adapting and regenerating to stay alive. The keys to success rely on balancing precise water management, adjusting mowing heights, and preventing turf diseases before minor stress turns into major turf loss. Although this has been a long hard season for the crew, they work hard every morning and are dedicated to keeping our greens smooth, the fairways firm, and the course in top shape as you continue your summer rounds. These are the dog days of summer. Enjoy the warm weather while it lasts because soon enough, we will be cold and wish for the dog days to return. Please Remember: • Cart Traffic: Follow all daily cart rules and stay on paths near wet or weak turf areas. • Ball Marks: Repair your ball marks on greens so the turf can heal faster in the heat. • Divots: Fill your divots with sand mix to protect exposed roots from the hot sun. • Respect Stakes: Follow all cart directional signs and keep carts away from green surrounds.
