G O L F C O U R S E P O L I C Y
1. We establish as basic policy an objective pace of play of four hours for the rounds of golf played on our golf course, with the expectation of keeping up with the group in front of you.
2. Reservations are required to insure a tee time. Platinum Members may reserve tee times 14 days in advance; Gold and Associate golf members 7 days in advance; Scholastic members 3 days in advance.
*Note: Standing Platinum Group Tee Times will be honored - Minimum 1 Platinum Member per “Group”
3. All players must register in the Pro Shop prior to teeing off. All players must start on the first tee unless otherwise approved by the Golf Shop.
4. Members are responsible for registering their guests in the golf shop prior to teeing off. A reminder, a Guest may play a maximum of 6 times.
5. Proper golf attire must be worn at all times on the golf course and driving range (no denim). This includes, but is not limited to, collared shirts and sleeves for men, collar or sleeved shirts for women. Regulation pants / shorts, skirts, dresses and shoes must commensurate with the golf industry.
6. Members are encouraged, if possible, to form foursomes on the first tee.
7. Fivesomes are permitted for members as long as they are able to keep up with the pace of play.
8. Repair all ball marks, replace or fill divots, rake bunkers after use, and obey all signs for use of carts.
9. Practicing is not permitted on the golf course.
10. Adjusted scores (net double bogey per hole) must be entered into the CDGA / USGA app after the completion of play. With the new WORLD HANDICAP SYSTEM (WHS), players will enter all possible scores, year-round, whether at home course, away course, within the US or internationally, provided the region of play is “in season.”
11. Golf course playing times will be enforced during the officially published golf season.
12. The official golf season extends from April 1st through October 31st.

McHenry Golf Club sponsored events take precedence over all others.
GUEST POLICY:
Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays are limited to two guests before 10:00 A.M. and a maximum of four guests after 10:00 A.M. On weekdays, one member may bring up to seven guests or a maximum of two members in the same party may each bring seven guests without General Manager / Head Golf Professional approval.
No Guest may play more than 6 rounds per year.
OUTING POLICY:
Written requests for outings must be submitted to the General Manager / Head Golf Professional far enough in advance of such events for them to be appropriately scheduled and staffed. Events will be priced to include golf, cart and gratuity. Dining Room facilities are available upon request. With arrangements organized directly by the event host and McHenry Golf Club.

The Golf Shop is stocked with the latest in golf-related items at competitive prices. Available for your golfing needs are clubs, bags, shoes, balls, clothing and accessories All members are encouraged to support their Club Golf lessons are available through the Golf Professional staff by contacting them directly or through Whoosh. Club storage is provided by the Golf Shop for an annual fee Your clubs will be set up each time you play and cleaned at the completion of play.
The Practice Range, available for your game improvement needs, is open from April 1st through October 31st and entitles you to unlimited practice balls.
*Note: The Practice Range will be closed on Mondays The practice facility will have the same dress code as the golf course

Liability for Injuries
Members agree that all use of the facilities and participation in any social/recreational activities sponsored by the McHenry Golf Club is undertaken by members, members’ partners, children, and guests at their sole risk. Members further agree that the McHenry Golf Club is not liable for any injuries or damages to members, members’ partners, children and guests, or their property, resulting from ordinary negligence of the Club, its management or employees. Members, for themselves and on behalf of the executors, heirs, assigns and successors, do hereby expressly forever release and discharge the McHenry Golf Club, its owner, management and employees, from all such claims. Members hereby agree to release the Club, indemnity and hold it harmless for all claims arising out of above
General Rules
Members of the Club are responsible for the character and conduct of any persons whom they invite onto the premises. A guest must be always escorted by a member unless approved by the GM/Head professional However, should the guest’s arrival precede the member during any occasion, such guest will be treated just as if the member were present. Members and their guests are expected to always act in a courteous and orderly fashion Harassment, sexual or otherwise, of Club staff will not be permitted Sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to, unwelcome sexual advances, verbal, or physical conduct of a sexual or similarly offensive nature, offensive comments, jokes, innuendos, and other sexually oriented statements
Children at the Club
All children on the course will be dressed appropriately (see Dress Code). Persons under the age of sixteen (16) are not permitted to loiter in the Men’s or Ladies’ Locker Rooms Persons under the age of 21 are not permitted at the Bar unless accompanied by an adult.
Dress Code
Proper attire must always be worn Tank tops, halter tops, short shorts (shorts must be mid-thigh), and cut-off shorts are prohibited. Wearing denim of any type on our golf course or at the practice facility is prohibited at all times. Members are responsible for ensuring that their family members and guests adhere to the dress code as well The dress code is in effect for all outside outings as well. People booking these events will be advised of the dress code and are expected to advise their guests accordingly
Employees
Employees of the Club shall not be reprimanded by members or guests. Any employee misconduct or a complaint about any employee should be reported to the General Manager Employees of the Club will not be sent off club’s premises by members or guests.

Food and Beverages
No outside food or beverages are permitted in the clubhouse or on the course. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased from here or the Halfway House.
No alcohol poured on the premises may be carried off-site with the exception of partially consumed bottles of which have accompanied a meal, packaged in accordance with the law.
No members or guests are permitted in the service departments of the Club.
Any member who is habitually intoxicated on Club premises will, at the discretion of the General Manager, be suspended or otherwise fined
No member or guest will be permitted to otherwise furnish alcohol to a minor.
Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the Clubhouse, Pro Shop, or Halfway House Designated smoking areas outside of the building listed will be at distances in compliance with state law.
Locker Rooms
There is an annual fee of $150 per locker should you like one Locker charges include shoeshine as a locker room service Bath towels are to be kept in the locker rooms and may not be removed for any reason. Gratuities to locker room attendants are at the discretion of the individual member
Parking Lot
Regular parking is provided as marked in the parking lot. The designated handicap spaces are to be used for those who have a state issued medical handicap card, plate, or sticker posted on their vehicles
Violators will be reported to the General Manager for disciplinary action. Please don’t park in the fire lanes or other nondesignated areas No food or beverage will be served to any member or guest while in an automobile or in the parking area of the Club.
