In Jesus Christ, God calls people to faith and to membership in the Church, the body of Christ. The baptism (or reaffirmation of baptism) of those who enter the covenant of membership upon their own profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior witnesses to the truth that God’s gift of grace calls forth a response of faithfulness. (Book of Order, G-1.0301)

They were formally received into membership by vote of our Session on April 26, 2026 during a called meeting.

David is thrilled to be joining the VPC community by Reaffirmation of Faith. He is drawn to the church's commitment to fostering spiritual growth while maintaining a strong presence in the local community. David and his wife Hayley, recently welcomed a baby girl, Isla. As a family, they are looking forward to raising her in the faith and building lasting relationships within the congregation.
They both intend on getting involved in some of the amazing missions at VPC. One of David’s favorite passages of Scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
Hayley is delighted to join VPC through Reaffirmation of Faith. She was particularly drawn to the church's focus on nurturing spiritual development and its active, compassionate involvement in the local area. Hayley and her husband, David are the proud new parents of a baby girl, Isla.
Hayley is excited to discover how she can best serve and contribute to the various mission programs at VPC. One of Hayley’s favorite passages of Scripture is Psalm 37 23:24: "The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they may stumble they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand."
Corey L. Brown Sr. is joyful about joining VPC and feels truly at home through Reaffirmation of Faith. He was drawn to the church through volunteering at events such as Trunk or Treat, where he experienced a warm and welcoming church family. Born in Sugar Land, Texas, Corey grew up as a military brat and has lived in many places. He spent more than 20 years working with VDOT helping build roads and bridges throughout Northern Virginia, including the new Woodrow Wilson Bridge and the I‑66 HOV lanes.
He is currently working in Savannah, Georgia, refurbishing the historic District Federal Courthouse. Corey is the proud father of two sons, Corey Jr. and Troy. A lifelong music lover, he has sung in church choirs since childhood. He is an avid football fan, proudly supporting the Houston Texans. For over 20 years, Corey has coached football, basketball, and swimming and values mentoring young people. He is also a self proclaimed grill master who loves food and looks forward to getting to know his new church family and serving wherever he fits in.
Roy spent his youth at the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, MI. He enjoyed a full career in the U.S. Navy, with defense contractors and Homeland Security. At VPC since 1998 as a member of the Cathedral Brass, his mission now is to lead people of any age to Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Andrew is excited to join VPC by Reaffirmation of Faith, drawn by the warmth of the community. Andrew works in the engineering industry and enjoys spending his weekends hiking and spending time with his one year old son. One of his favorite verses is Daniel 3:16-3:20.
Katherine is honored to be joining VPC through Reaffirmation of Faith. She is drawn to the church’s commitment to growing faith in all generations. Katherine looks forward to finding meaningful ways to contribute her energy and dedication to the VPC mission. She has previously worked with children and hopes to offer her experience to continue working with them. Her favorite Scripture is Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord."
Cameron and Daniel Ertley met at Penn State University and have called Northern Virginia home for the past 18 years. They have been married 15 years and are the proud parents of two boys — Hayden (5) and Owen (3). Daniel was born in Lancaster, PA and spent 17 years living in Nairobi, Kenya with his family through the World Mission Associates. He now serves as a clinical analyst at Virginia Hospital Center.
Cameron was raised in Windber, PA through the First Presbyterian Church and has a background in corporate human resources. They are inspired by VPC’s intentionality of ministries and are looking forward to joining a vibrant, welcoming community — proud to join by Reaffirmation of Faith. Together, they love cooking, reading, and traveling when life allows. You'll often find them at the beach with family, and they cherish watching Hayden and Owen learn and grow every day.
Andrea has lived in Northern Virginia for the last nine years, having moved across the river from Maryland. She works full time from home, working in the cyber security industry. Andrea is single and has no kids. She volunteers at the Fairfax Animal Shelter and will frequently be seen wearing a volunteer t-shirt in the 9:00 am service.
Mary has been attending VPC services and events for almost two years. She enjoys fellowship and friendships that have developed through the VPC church community. She is the mom of two adult children, Sean and Grayson, 26 and 21, respectively. The Collins family moved around quite a bit as the kids were growing up, living near military bases in California, Florida, and Virginia. They settled in Fairfax about 12 years ago and attended another Presbyterian church in the area for many years, where Mary volunteered with the youth group and Sunday school.
She is looking forward to getting involved with mission work at VPC. When not working at George Mason University, Mary enjoys running, yoga, and being outside with Gabby, her 3-year-old fur baby. Gabby is a mixed-breed hound, and together they frequent the Vienna dog park and go on long trail walks.
Rob and Ashby Keefer spent many years in New York City before settling in Vienna. They have two children - Claire (3.5) and James (18 months) - and Claire attends VPC preschool. Rob is from outside Philadelphia, PA and grew up attending a nondenominational Christian church. Ashby grew up near Richmond and was an active member at Salisbury Presbyterian Church until she moved to New York after college. The Keefers moved to Vienna in 2024 and are thrilled to have found their church home.
Joel Mendez is originally from Hollywood, Florida. His faith in God was originally shaped by his parents, immigrants from the Dominican Republic, who modeled a love for Christ and demonstrated it in loving their neighbors. Because of their example, the verse that has remained strong for Joel in connection to the church community and the true religion that impacts the world, is James 1:27,
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." This is what drew him to Vienna Presbyterian Church. Through his participation in the DivorceCare program, which was hosted at the church, and as he continued to attend the church, he volunteered at events where the hand of God extended love to their community. Joel plans to continue to support the church as the "hands and feet of Jesus" for Vienna, the DMV and the world.
Joel returned to the area in the fall of 2024, after a government career where he spent a majority of time overseas. He started attending Vienna Presbyterian church in early 2025. He has two wonderful daughters Abigail, who is attending the University of Maryland of Baltimore studying Art Therapy, and Liliana, who will be graduating high school and will attend Texas A&M University to major in Chemistry this fall.
John Mollard is joining VPC by Letter of Transfer from McLean Presbyterian Church where he and his wife Martha worshipped for almost 35 years. John grew up in the Presbyterian church singing great hymns from the Trinity Hymnal and really felt a connection to Vienna Presbyterian Church while attending a traditional worship service last August. John has started making several new friends through the Men’s Bible study and through the Mid-Week Connection program. John and Martha will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary this September and are very blessed to have two adult children and three grandchildren living in the area. John actively supports Romanian Christian Enterprises (RCE), especially during the organization’s annual 5K Fun Run in late April on the W&OD bike trail. John greatly appreciates the story of King David as David demonstrates both the best and the worst behavior any human is capable of and is still loved by God.
Martha Mollard is joining VPC by Letter of Transfer from McLean Presbyterian Church where she and her husband John worshipped for almost 35 years. Martha was drawn to VPC by the liturgy and hymns of the traditional service which reminded her of services at the Methodist church she grew up in. While at MPC, Martha was active in the MOPS (Mothers of Pre Schoolers) Kids and Mentor Mom programs for over 20 years. Martha currently attends a Tuesday morning Bible study at the Reformed Theological Seminary campus in Tysons and has started making new friends through VPC’s Mid-Week Connection program. Martha enjoys photography, gardening, and learning to play the ukelele while playing “Mom” to her Labrador retriever and two cats. John and Martha will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary this September and are very blessed to have two adult children and three grandchildren living in the area. Martha was a board member of Romanian Christian Enterprises (RCE) for 14 years and continues in a support role. RCE is an organization dedicated to placing orphaned children, many of whom have profound disabilities, into loving Christian families. Martha’s favorite verse is John 15:5 which she learned at Young Life camp many years ago!
Blair and Seth Mohney are excited to join VPC by Reaffirmation of Faith. After moving to Oakton in 2025, they were looking for a church to raise their two small kids in the Christian faith. They first attended VPC at a neighbor’s suggestion and have returned almost every weekend since. They are drawn to the music at the contemporary service, the Bible-focused sermons, and the prevalence of young families.
Their kids love making friends at the childcare and never miss grabbing a snack at fellowship hour. Blair has already joined a moms’ book club, and Seth is looking forward to finding volunteer opportunities They are excited for the years ahead with their kids at VPC!
Andy and Alyssa Nagel moved here in the summer of 2024 from Virginia Beach to Oakton, VA. Andy was promoted to Division Manager for Cutco Cutlery and Vector Marketing where he works with high school and college students in Northern Virginia. Alyssa is a science teacher at James Madison high school. Their son Weston was born in December of 2024. Andy loves to golf and Alyssa is a marathon runner. They are excited to join VPC! Joshua 1:9 is their favorite Bible verse.
Mark Nelson is joining VPC by transfer from another Presbyterian church in the DMV. Mark is drawn to VPC's congregational vibrancy and the fantastic music ministry. Mark and his wife, Kristen, have been married for six years and have two young children, ages two and newborn. He is looking forward to family involvement in the children's ministry.
StaciLynne is excited to be joining the VPC family by Reaffirmation of Faith. StaciLynne has served on staff for four years and wanted to officially make VPC her church family and home. She is encouraged by the sense of community and fellowship and the way that VPC continually brings Christ into and serves the surrounding community. StaciLynne was raised in the DMV but spent many of her childhood summers in Bath County, VA where her family is from and still holds true to her Appalachian roots. StaciLynne is first and foremost passionate about her love for Jesus.
She accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age at her home church, First Baptist Church of Merrifield, where she sang in the choir, served as an usher and musician, was part of the kitchen ministry and was the Executive Administrator to the Pastor for seven years until she was called to serve at VPC. StaciLynne has a passion for food, and food is her love language. She is a student and teacher of yoga, meditation, and holistic health and her hobbies include making jewelry and herbal teas, collecting rocks and plants, and caring for cats in feral communities. StaciLynne finds joy when she is spending time with her family including daughters, Ashleigh, Elizabeth and Olivia and her seven cats and two dogs. She finds strength in the Words found in Psalm 23:5
Rachel Sitta is excited to formally join Vienna Presbyterian Church by Reaffirmation of Faith. She has long appreciated the church’s strong sense of community and its commitment to both faith and service, and she is grateful to take this next step in her membership. Rachel looks forward to becoming more involved, particularly in ways that support youth and families, and in serving the broader community.
Rachel previously worked in International Development for over 20 years and now dedicates her time t her family. She and her husband, Grant, are the proud parents of Adalyn, a 9th grader at Madison High School, and they enjoy supporting her in both her academic and athletic pursuits. A favorite Bible verse for Rachel is Philippians 4:13, which continues to be a source of strength and encouragement in her daily life.
Grant Sitta is delighted to be joining VPC by Reaffirmation of Faith, drawn by the church’s local presence and its commitment to community mission. A Vienna resident for many years, Grant hopes to become involved with the church’s volunteer programs and continue community faith initiatives. Grant brings over 20 years of professional experience in Patent Law. In his spare time, Grant enjoys hands-on projects. He and his wife, Rachel, have a daughter, Adalyn, who currently attends Madison High School. Grant finds inspiration in the biblical figure Nehemiah, whose dedication to rebuilding and historical restoration resonates with his own interests in community preservation.
Alejandro is a suburban Maryland native but has made NOVA his home for the last 40 plus years. He used to live in Vienna, which is how he discovered VPC. He is a lifelong bachelor and has worked as a Navy-Marine Corps systems analyst contractor, as well as a USDHS correspondence and FOIA Analyst in DC. His interests are Bible study, history, Smithsonian and art museums, pets, yard clean up and maintenance, light handyman repairs, cars, and commercial aviation and related aircraft.
Jen Swensson is excited to join VPC by Reaffirmation of Faith. She was drawn to the church by their youth programs and the active ways in which they give back to the local community. Jen grew up in Vienna and is proud to be raising her two teenage daughters in her hometown. As a long time volunteer for organizations supporting those with food insecurities, she looks forward to learning more about ministries in this area. Her daughters Sonora (9th grade at Madison) and Violet (7th grade at Thoreau) are also looking forward to expanding their faith and community.
Bets Thomas is glad to be joining VPC by Letter of Transfer from Vienna Baptist Church. Bets looks forward to learning and working as a follower of Jesus as a part of this thriving congregation. She anticipates joining an Adult Discipleship class that fits with the(traditional service and is interested in the prison ministry at VPC. Bets is a former systems engineer turned elementary public school teacher.
Bets and husband Chris have been married for 36 years and raised their three boys during their 33 years here in Vienna. The two most important Bible verses for Bets are Mark 8:34 and Romans 8:38.
Chris Thomas is pleased to be joining VPC by transfer of membership from Vienna Baptist Church. Chris was drawn to VPC while looking for a new church home because of its vitality and the range of opportunities for fellowship, Bible study, and mission activities. He and his wife, Bets, have been residents of Vienna for over 30 years.
His community service interests are helping the needy, contributing through Belong!, and improving our environment. This year he is also helping to settle an Afghan immigrant family who arrived in the DC area in late December. A Bible verse that holds special meaning for Chris is John 13:34.
