WELCOME NEWMEMBERS
In Jesus Christ, God calls people to faith and to membership in the Church, the body of Christ. The baptism (or reaffirmation of baptism) of those who enter the covenant of membership upon their own profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior witnesses to the truth that God’s gift of grace calls forth a response of faithfulness. (Book of Order, G-1.0301)

They were formally received into membership by vote of our Session on July 19, 2026 during a called meeting.

JARED CAUBBLE AND LEAH MAE ALDRIDGE
Leah Mae Aldridge and Jared Caubble are grateful to be part of the VPC family. Originally from Arkansas, they have called Northern Virginia home for the past four years and have been attending VPC for the last year. Married in March 2024, they live in Fairfax and enjoy exploring new restaurants, playing pickleball, and building community. They are excited to continue growing in their faith and deepening their relationship with Christ.
ANDREW AND JULIANA HUFFMAN
Andrew and Juliana Huffman are delighted to be joining VPC by Reaffirmation of Faith. The Huffmans moved to Sterling VA earlier this year and were searching for a church home for themselves and their future family. They were drawn by the inspiring sermons, the strong sense of community, and the growing children's ministry. The Huffmans are excited to explore all the opportunities to serve VPC's youth and build connections with other families. Andrew and Juliana met at the University of Virginia in 2020 and got married in September 2024. Juliana's favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13, and Andrew's is Romans 8:28.

SAMUEL HANCOCK
It is a great pleasure of Sam’s to become a member of this wonderful church. The people here are most friendly and caring, and the social outreach is outstanding. Sam finds that VPC stands as a public good to the greater Vienna community. He is interested in helping to organize healing, wellness, and health classes. Sam is widowed and currently lives in Vienna. He has been enjoying his time with members and guests at VPC.
NEWTON ANGOMBI AND DIVINAH KAMSINGI
Divinah and Newton recently joined VPC in Virginia after relocating to the United States from Kenya. Divinah is a Registered Nurse while Newton
is a Pharmacist and is currently pursuing his journey of licensure in the United States. They are blessed with four children: Hailey, Blanca, Archie and Lilibet.
They joined VPC because they were seeking a Christ-centered church community where they would grow spiritually, worship together, build meaningful relationships and serve God alongside other believers. They especially like the children ministry at VPC because of its commitment to nurturing children’s faith, character, and spiritual growth in a loving and supportive environment. They appreciate the opportunity for their children to have found a place to learn more about God and participate in meaningful activities.
They are grateful for the warm welcome they have received and look forward to being an active part of VPC Family.
SANDY MACPHERSON
Sandy MacPherson is a native Washingtonian. She is a former flight attendant and retired RN. She raised her two daughters in Minnesota. She has travelled the world, and especially Disneyland, with her granddaughter. She enjoys the inspiring pastors, great music, fellowship and service at VPC.
A favorite Bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3 - to everything there is a season.
KELLY MCKENZIE
Kelly McKenzie is delighted to become a new member of VPC by Reaffirmation of Faith. What has drawn Kelly to VPC was the warm and welcoming vibe of the people within and the atmosphere the church holds. She has enjoyed meeting fellow churchgoers, catching up with old friends, and hopes to continue building healthy friendships with others. Kelly was born and raised in Vienna, grew up in her mother’s childhood home surrounded by family, and attended VPC’s preschool program in the early
1990s. She currently works at the Oakton Sunoco. During her days off, she enjoys horror/thriller movies, swimming, photography, baking/cooking and spending time with friends and loved ones. Psalm 23:4 has always been one of Kelly’s favorite verses.
MICHAEL RODIS
Michael Rodis is joining VPC by Reaffirmation of Faith. Mike is on a journey to strengthen his relationship with the Lord and in looking for a new church home, he has found community at VPC which will add a richness to that journey. Now retired after over 40 years working in human capital roles, Mike leverages his experience in a handful of for-profit and non-profit board positions, some of which match well to ministries
at VPC, especially those related to seniors and marginalized individuals. Mike and his longtime partner Bridget share 4 adult children and three grandchildren. Verses John 3:16 and John 3:17 together are among his favorites.
PENGCHENG SHI
Pengcheng Shi has been coming to VPC since the "Grinch Days" (Winter 2025). He enjoys attending church with his fiancée and growing his faith alongside her. In the future, Pengcheng plans to step into roles whenever the church needs him. Pengcheng was born in China, grew up in England, and currently works in America. He appreciates cultural diversity, and volunteers his time as an advisor for local businesses and graduate schools. Pengcheng’s favorite Scripture is James 4:13–15, as its message of being flexible and ready for change deeply resonates with his personal beliefs.
SOMANG LEE-THACKER
Somang began attending VPC in the winter of 2025 with her fiancé. She was drawn to VPC as a church where she could grow in faith and prepare for a future family rooted in God’s love.
Born in Korea and raised in Kentucky, Somang recently moved to Virginia to be closer to her two sisters. Growing up in a family that loves music, she has a special appreciation for worship and the opportunity to praise God through the 10:30 a.m. service.
Somang is excited to become the second Hope Lee at VPC, as her Korean name, Somang, means “hope.” She is reminded that true hope comes not from circumstances, but from God’s steadfast presence and love.
Her favorite Scripture is Psalm 62:5–6: “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; my fortress where I will not be shaken.”
NIGEL AND HELLEN TOUT
Hellen Tout is grateful to become a member of Vienna Presbyterian Church. Originally from Mariupol, Ukraine, she now lives in Vienna, Virginia, with her husband, Nigel. Hellen works as an early childhood teacher and finds great joy in caring for and encouraging young children. She was drawn to VPC by its warm, welcoming community, its love for Jesus Christ, and its heart for serving others. Hellen hopes to continue growing in her faith, build meaningful friendships, and use her gifts to serve God and the church family.
One of her favorite Bible verses is John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you.”
