What’s new for:
OPERATUNITY CONCERTS & TRAVEL
M
essage from Sue and John
Over the past two and half years and especially in the past ten months, Operatunity has faced a lot of challenges. As I said right from the start international travel and concerts is not a good combination in a pandemic. Our staff, artists and John and I have worked hard to keep ahead, pivoting over these years to ensure we can continue to do what we do best, provide happiness through music for seniors and provide work for NZ artists. Now we look forward with anticipation to the next stage of this journey. We have been planning a number of exciting events and trips, keeping in mind that the pandemic is not over yet but also keeping in mind we all need something to look forward to including our artists, many of whom have been without work for simply too long!
Concerts of Note The first exciting news is our Concerts of Note series of concerts later in 2022. These are still daytime concerts but will be performed with limited audience capacity. We do not think it is a good idea to present our full daytime concert series at present with audiences of 500- 900 people at one concert. We are unable to continue with vaccine mandates for our audiences (we will still continue those for our artists), but we are able to limit our audience sizes to provide a safer concert experience with less people in attendance. Our Concerts of Note series will be held in iconic venues giving you a special bespoke feel: Sensational 60s in wedding venues, golf clubs, yacht clubs, vineyards and the like; Music for Inspiration in aweinspiring historic or architecturally significant churches; and our Christmas Garden Gala in front of historic houses in their beautiful gardens. Prices are more expensive than our usual daytime concerts taking into account smaller audience sizes, more expensive venues and also the requirement for the venue to provide more costly catering rather than being able to do our own catering. We do hope you will come along and enjoy our concerts this year!
2023 Daytime Concerts We have already put together plans to present our daytime concerts again in 2023. There will be a few changes to these but we will still provide an amazing experience for you all. This programme will be announced around August/September 2022.
