Portman Monestary

Descending into the Countryside

This project, created for the Portman Studio at Georgia Tech, is a study of light and how to control interaction with space in order to increase comfort and create a meditative state. Located in Spain along the infamous Camino Frances pilgramage this monestary provides a tranquil stop along the historical trails. By creating six unique spaces that change the flow of light I am providing attendants with the ability to seek comfort and enlightenment in the enviroment that best suits them.

Building Community in Atlanta

A Georgia Tech Studio project based in downtown Atlanta, this design tackles how to build community in an urban setting. Looking at design through an ecological lens it addresses problems in climate, engagement with nature and community space. This design created new connections between streets, neighbors and the green canopy of Atlatna.

for Micro Climates

In order to maximize comfort for the residents there is a series of installed ecoventions in order to create microclimates throughout the building. This allows for the residents to divide space more freely and create individual enviroments to their liking. Additionally by making an interactive enviroment it intends to encourage socialization but also grants individual choice

Dwelling Unit + Human Mind-Body Scale

Comfort for every individual is essential in this design, and this extends into its residential units.

Incorporating a post and beam structure allows for more open space in relatively small units and gives them the freedom to put their personal touches on each of the units. There are two unit types to choose from, a studio and a one bedroom with additional amenities including a washer and dryer. Perhaps the most critical aspect is the exterior space that is intrinsic to their design as well as the residents well being. It allows for every unit to have equal opportunity to experience the outdoors.

Intercommunity Scales

A crucial part of the projects design is that it accounts for relationships between neighbors, providing them many spaces in which to interact, relax or seperate as needed. Creating a diverse set of communal spaces allowing each resident their comfort without intruding on their neighbors

Experiencing Directional Space

Collision of Spaces Through Transition reconceives the contemporary workplace as a continuous spatial experience shaped by movement, overlap, and encounter. Located along the High Line in Chelsea, the project treats transition not as a secondary condition, but as the primary architectural driver. Circulation spaces, ramps, bridges, plazas, and layered floors, are designed to actively collide work, recreation, and public life. Transforming movement into a generator of social interaction.

Transitional space functions as the connective framework of the building, where movement becomes a form of occupation. Rather than simply directing circulation, ramps, bridges, and shared thresholds create spaces to pause, observe, and interact. These zones mediate between work, recreation, and public programs, allowing activities to overlap and inform one another. Directional paths provide clarity, while open and interwoven areas invite exploration and informal gathering. Through visual transparency and layered spatial relationships, transitional spaces sustain continuity across the building, fostering spontaneous encounters and reinforcing the idea that circulation itself can generate community and spatial richness.

Las Cruces Boarding School of Agriculture and Geology

This partner project with Evan Smoak at Clemson is delving into the possibilities of immersive learning. with a program oriented to a certain sect of students the earthy forms are intended to create a sense of engagement with the enviroment.

Additionally it addresses the climate of Las Cruces New Mexico by delving into the ground, and seeking shelter from the scorching heat typical in this city.

I assisted the design team and provided concept renders/diagrams for this project proposal. This included designing interior spaces such as study rooms to implementing parking infrastructure on the exterior.

Clemson Jervey RennovationGarvin Design Group

During the Clemson Jervey Rennovation I worked closely with the interior deesign team to flush out the lobby, locker rooms and rest areas. This included designing the individual lockers, assigning materials to the spaces and implementing ecoventions such as the greenery wall.
