It gives a sensation of rigidity. Yet, it is fragile and flexible due to the string connections between each wood dowel.

FRONT VIEW

The color plaza is Reclaiming this deserted downtown area as usable public space and reconnecting the arts district with the Buddy Holly. The pavillion itself is a place for events and a focal point.

PUBLIC SPACE DESIGN STRATEGIES:

• The level change of the edges around the centered sunken area create an emphasis and contrast therefore creating multiple stages.

• The ramps are mainly to be used as circulation but are slightly sloped enough to be comfortable as a sitting area.

• Daily activities happen such as a place for photography, food trucks. Outdoor market everyother week.

• Implementing a conection from east to west

• Collecting rainwater / Creates event

• Trees provide shading from south and west sun

• Pavillion position and height cast a long shadow towards the sunken area and outdoor market.

• Trees and sunken area provide wind protection
