MAKERSPACE STRATFORD
In recent times we have begun to recognise the extensive and significant environmental effects caused by the fashion industry. Following on from this due to the fast fashion crisis which is a pressing issue around the world , this project seeks to find an architectural solution to minimise the impact that it has on the environment and specifically in the Stratford region. The intent is to understand the impact fast fashion has on the environment in order to create spaces which provides adequate conditions for workers within the area and providing job opportunities within the local vicinity. The scheme, a makers Hub proposes to use local waste materials from Westfield to re-purpose and sell.

The illustration above shows the sun at its highest level, which can illuminate my building for free. However, much sunlight can produce glare and discomfort.

Varying in height due to the jaw dropping roof structure, the maker-space demands a space for a great teaching environment for the public. To enable this the floor plans are designed in a fluid manner to promote flexibility/adaptability due to the thoughtful structure.
DIVERGENT
The contemporary recycled wood facade is an architectural marvel that gracefully combines historical references with a modern aesthetic. The vertical wooden battens are recycled from the historical railway tracks in Stratford and trimmed down accordingly to fit the proportions of Divergent ( Recycled railway sleepers clad). Furthermore, the use of recycled materials with the combination with a saw tooth roof provides a visually engaging and dynamic frontage that is extremely inviting.
The architectural language of the facade competently references industrial Stratford, paying tribute to its rich history. The selection of wide picture framed windows on the facade allows the public realm to acknowledge the activity’s that takes place within the structure.
Following on from the recycled railway sleepers clad is assembled on the building as part of a community scheme to allow the public to build a relationship with the structure and have a sense of fulfilment.

ICELAND COMMUNITY HOUSE
The site is situated in the Myvatn region, which is one of the most frequently visited regions in North Iceland. The community cabin would be an excellent addition to the area, enabling individuals to trade, share resources, and recycle materials.
