While the crack of the bat has been missing since last August, the heartbeat of this stadium never stopped.
A baseball “offseason” is anything but quiet. It is a season of tireless preparation, and before we throw the first pitch I want to say thank you so many people that have gotten us to this point.
This opening day is possible because of the people who fuel our engine: our dedicated front office and staff, our hardworking interns, our corporate partners, our host families and the best fans in the country.
You are the backbone of Growlers baseball, and we couldn’t do this without you.
We are thrilled to welcome you to the newly named Honor Credit Union Stadium.
This partnership is about more than just a sign on the gate; it’s a shared commitment to improving the quality of life here in Southwest Michigan through more events, better facilities, and initiatives that reach far beyond the diamond.
The City of Kalamazoo, Michigan: Thanks to the city’s investment, you’ll be sitting in one of 1,100 brand-new Interkal seats behind state-of-the-art safety netting.
The Stadium Improvement Partners: We are currently in the middle of the largest stadium investment in our history. There is still work to do, but every improvement has started with one thing in mind: the fan experience.
New seating areas, upgraded concessions, expanded food and drink options, kids zone enhancements, shaded gathering spaces, additional restrooms, and much more are all designed to make Honor Credit Union Stadium better than ever.

The Team: Our roster is hungry, gritty, and ready to compete for a championship with one of the best coaching staffs in the country.
The Promotions: Our front office spent the entire offseason planning drone shows and fireworks nights, K-Pop Night, Cecil Fielder Night and so many more. We can’t wait to put on the show.
The Event: We are pumped to take on the largest special event in our organization’s history: Kalapalooza. This massive festival combines our two largest festivals into one big end of the summer party.
There is a lot of “new” this year new seats, new partners, and new sights
But one thing has never changed: our mission — Where Fun Makes a Difference.
It has guided us since day one and continues to drive us now, 13 years later.

New Seats Compared to Old Seats
Here is a side-by-side comparison of the new seats and the old seats.
The new seats are the same width, and the number of seats per row is not changing (we are NOT making fans squeeze into smaller seats to sell more tickets).
The new seats have a "bottom" that folds up so they don't get dirty or hold rainwater on wet & stormy days.
The old seats also got extremely hot, were always dirty/wet, were hard to maintain, and were uncomfortable, according to fan surveys.
Enjoy the new seats at Honor Credit Union Stadium this year and for many years to come, Growlers fans.
This Is What The Corner Club Will Be...
The Corner Club will be completed at Honor Credit Union Stadium in July 2026.
These official renderings reveal what The Corner Club will look like when the project is completed.
Spanning 1,900 square feet, the private venue features an air-conditioned indoor lounge seamlessly paired with an expansive outdoor viewing deck.
Two stadium floods in April pushed back a previously anticipated Opening Day debut.
The project was made possible by an expanded partnership with Honor Credit Union, which also includes the stadium's new naming rights and several ongoing ballpark enhancements.

Brand New Trash Cans at HCU Stadium
25 brand-new custom trash cans have been added to Honor Credit Union Stadium ahead of Opening Day (Monday, May 25).
Fan surveys suggested that on sell-out nights, our old trash cans would be filled and/or hard to find.
We ordered these brand-new bins and will place them throughout the stadium.

The First Event at HCU Stadium
Almost 300 local business professionals attended the first event at the newly named Honor Credit Union Stadium Staff from Honor Credit Union attended and saw the new marquee sign hanging at the main entrance.
Fans also got a sneak peek at the right field corner construction zone.
Folks from the Growlers, City of Kalamazoo, Honor Credit Union & Salvation Army all gave a few brief remarks about the local impact we're all involved in.

This is awesome. We want to welcome Kalamazoo native & GVSU new-graduate Brayden Pease to our front office.
He grew up coming to Growlers games years ago.

A Crazy Stat That You Didn’t Know...
There are 10,000 kids in the Michigan foster care systemthat’s enough to fill Honor Credit Union Stadium over three times.
The red circle shows approximately how many kids in Kalamazoo County are in the foster care system (350) relative to the stadium.
Foster care identifies and places children in safe homes when they cannot remain with their families because of safety concerns.
Foster families provide these children with the consistency and support they need to grow.
Children of all ages, especially teens and sibling groups, are waiting for home where they can feel seen, heard and valued.

A Stadium for a $250 Donation?!
A $250 donation in 1929 built the entire baseball field that is still in use today.
Fast forward almost a century later, it's now a stadium surrounded by 3,500+ seats & front office buildings.
Honor Credit Union Stadium hosted many previous tenants, including the Kalamazoo Lassies (Women's Professional Baseball) in 1950-1954.
Other tenants include:
Kalamazoo Kodiaks (1996-98)
Kalamazoo Kings (2001-2010)
Kalamazoo Growlers (2014-Present Day)
Many ongoing renovations to the stadium include:
Safety netting that meets MLB & MiLB standards
New box seats that are safer & more compliant

A Pretty Cool Accomplishment
This is pretty cool. Former Growlers Intern, Travis Cellucci (2025), received the Excellence-in-Discipline Award in Sport Management from Grand Valley State University
This award is given to one student per discipline, selected by faculty based upon earned minimum number of credit hours at an exceptional GPA.
Travis was a Wireless Cam & Media Intern in 2025 for the Growlers.
20 of our 26 interns in 2025 were either from Michigan or attended a university in the state of Michigan.
It's really cool to see local students apply to intern with us and then see them succeed at their respective schools.

He’s Actually An Intern Here...
This is unique. Brody Foulk is actually going to be an Operations Intern for our team this summer.
He's also a player on the Huntington University baseball team that will play in the national tournament soon (postseason).
So he's going to miss the first week of his summer internship to be there with his baseball teammates.
Fewer than 2% of NCAA student-athletes go on to play professional sports - Brody is taking the summer to learn behind-the-scenes operations of a baseball team as opposed to being on the field.

Lucia Did THIS For the Growlers
This is Lucia - last month, she wrote the Growlers a letter as part of a class project and mailed it to our office.
She wanted to meet Alex The Firebreather in-person and when she saw him at Gull Lake Little League's Opening Day Ceremony, she HAD to meet him.
Alex talked to her and told her & her mom how he breathes fire and gave her sneak peak at some of the FUN planned in 2026.
Her favorite part of Growlers games is running the outfield + getting a popsicle, seeing the juggling girl and of course the big video board.
This Intern Served 4 Years as a Marine
This is awesome. Laine Day is an intern for us, but previously served our country as a Marine for 4 years.
He was on the Twentynine Palms Base - the largest U.S. Marine Corps base.
That base spans over 1,100 square miles of the Mojave Desert and is the premier live-fire combined-arms training facility in the world.
He's wearing our 2026 USA jersey (worn on June 11 & July 4) that features red, white and blue + scripture from the Declaration of Independence printed on it.

They'll save and earn more at every concession stand and inside the Growlers team store.
We'll have signage at the checkout register to remind fans to use their HCU card and what the specific perk is for that game.
Welcome Class of 2026 Interns
The Class of 2026 Interns are here Over 400 college students started applying and requesting interviews to join our team way back in October.
Only 27 of them made the cut to work with our front office and fans from mid-May to early August.
22 of 27 interns are either from the state of Michigan or attend a university in the state of Michigan.
It's really cool to see local students apply to intern with us and then see them impact the greater-Kalamazoo community.
If you interact with them at the stadium or if one of them calls you, understand that this is a learning experience for them too.

All of our interns and front office staff received a special navy blue polo ahead of the season.

We trust The Spirit Shoppe to make these shirts every season for us - they help us choose a light & athletic material to ensure our staff isn’t hot on the hottest of summer days.
They printed over 100+ shirts for our team in every size possible.

Many Think This is the Coolest Gift
This custom bobblehead might be the coolest birthday gift ever given.
Brian Colopy (Team Owner) proposed to Liz at a Growlers game in 2017 (she said of course said yes).
9 years later, she turned that special moment into a really cool bobblehead as a birthday gift for him.
The bobblehead has so much attention to detail that even his shoes look custom.

Congratulations Portage Northern!
Congratulations to the Seniors graduating at Portage Northern High School.
One of the players at Portage Northern is the daughter of our Team Masseur, TJ, and she wanted to celebrate her teammates.
Porter surprised them and brought flowers for all 6 of the graduating seniors.
Portage Northern played against Mattawan High School. Kiki Johnson hit two home runs in the game, way to go Kiki!
