Every year at Mingus, students rely on clubs to keep various activities in motion. This year we were without a Christmas dance but optimism runs high for next year . Organizations are the real backbone of our society, and thus, at any high school. They · not only represent interest groups and some adult service clubs, but they provide interesting insights into human nature and our culture as wel I.

Special recognit io n of activities include the trashpick - updetail that was largely successful through the efforts and combined talents of the members of Key Club, VOCA, and . SAE. Auto Club's raffle for 100 gallons of gasol ine was a valiant attempt to bridge the energy crisis; and SAE's ugly feet contest left everyone up in the a ir.

This year the Spanish Club members went to Mexico for three days during the Easter vacation . They traveled to Hermosillo and Gyamas, Mexico . In order to raise the mon ey for this trip they sold Christmas candles and they held bake sales. Congratulations for a worthwhile year of activities.

These two teams practiced for three whole days to be ready for each other when they met on the field on November 15. Both teams were equally matched and ready on that game night but the Senior and Freshmen girls took the game with a 22-16 victory,
