Mr. Merle Crawford has ta ght in the Verde Valley for many years, at Cottonwooc High School until 1958, when the schools combined and moved to Jerome. Like the Seniors of '73, Mr. Cra vford too,, is graduating from Mingus Union High School, g — graduating with honors after many years of outstanding v ork with his students and fellow teachers. Like most Seniors, Kevin, is anxiously awaiting graduation. Baseball, hunting, and fishing atrract him the most. Being a bum, partying, and having fun are included in his future plans.

"Patti"

Patti is a new student this year at Mingus. She started the year off on the right foot as a Homecoming Queen Attendant. Patti's favorite pastimes include football, baseball, trampoline, and horseback riding. Her future plans are to go to work. Pat Aughe

"Mama Mouse"

Pat has always been active at Mingus, participating on the Spirit Staff for three years. She has also participated in G. A. A. 3-4, Drama 4, Chorus 2-4 and Pep Club 4. After graduation she plans on becoming a professional journalist, as she spends most of her spare time writing poetry and short stories. Cliff Ayres

"P. W. "

Football has been tops on Cliff's list for the past four years. He has also been active in other sports including basketball and golf. College is included in his plans after graduation. Jeri Thornton Ayres

"Carnation Kid"

Jeri's smiling face will long be remembered on the Mingus campus. She started as Freshman Class President and was active in Pom Pons 1,2,3; FTA 2; and Pep Club 1, 2, 3. She loves to swim and to make fun of people, but only as a joke. Her future plans are "just being a housewife. "

"Badge"

Duane's participation in school activities include Football 2 years, Track 3 years and Cross­ country. He belongs to lettermens club, Key club, and National Honor's Society. Riding motor­ cycles and hunting occupy most of his time. His future plans include college.

John Bailey

"Beetle Bailey"

Although John has been with us for just a short time, he has been involved in such activities as Model U. N. and on the annual and Spirit Staff. He was also active in the chess club in Prescott High. He enjoys music, reading, people and Bible Studying. He plans after graduation to attend a Bible College. Trudy Blevins

Trudy's smiling face will always be remembered by those who knew her. She plans to be a stewardess after completing her Senior year. Mike Boyle

"Mike"

Mike was active in Band and Drama while at Mingus and was an outstanding cheerleader in the Powder Puff game. He enjoys bowling and just plain messing around. He hopes to find a good job after getting out.

Sue's contageous laugh is always heard through Mingus' halls. She has been in the annual and the newspaper staff. Her future plans include to travel all over, see as much as she can, and maybe settle down in Arkansas or Jerome. (Who knows)

Heidi is well known as a Pom Pon and Cheer Leader. She was also in Voca her Junior year, and secretary of the Junior Class. She plans on attending U. of A. Niki Brown

"Niki"

Horseback riding is number one with Niki and Mr. O'Donnell is number two, but he tries harder. She has been in the Mingus chorus and has many friends here. N.A.U. is included in her plans after graduating. Lee Ann Brundick

Everyone knows Lee Ann here at Mingus. She has participated in Band and Pep Club, reading books and all kinds of music also occupy her time. Future plans include going to college and working for an airline.

"Mr. Mingus"

Donnie has always had his hand in sports at MUHS---- One of Coach Henryâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Key players. His future plans include either joining the Navy or Peace Corps. Cherie Camp

"Honey Bear"

Cherie has participated in Pep Club for 3 years. Her love for music explains her being in Chorus for 4 years. Cherie enjoys some unusual hobbies, such as collecting pop-tops, stuffed animals, and letters. Future plans include attending a Bible College and even getting married when "Mr. Right" comes along. John Conway

"Hershel Hollywood"

John has been very active his four years at Mingus, ranging from the theater to receiving the University of Arizonaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Outstanding Junior Boy Award and Scholarship. His hobbies include movie making and week-end parties. John is undecided about his future.

"Jasper"

Baseball and football have been among Steve's many activities at Mingus. He enjoys hunting, swimming, and high diving. Steve plans on joining the Navy after graduating, and hopes to go into oceanography as a future career.

Rodger showed his versatility at Mingus by participating in both sports and activities such as Key Club President. Also, he was in National Honor Society and Model U. N. He enjoys riding either on his bicycle or in his Sunbeam. Studying engineering at the U. of A. are his future plans. Gloria Davis

Gloria has been active in Pep Club both her Junior and Senior years, probably since she's had a lot to yell about at basketball games. Her future plans are to go to Washington and attend L. P. N. school, then become a stewardess. After that, who knows? J

In her years at Mingus, Mary was very active in Pep Club and was on the Co-op program her Senior year. Her hobbies include swimming, tennis, and art, which could explain her plans of opening an art supply store after graduation.

Being an active member of G. A. A., V. O. C. A. , and Pep Club has kept Lois busy here at Mingus. She's uncertain about what to do in the future, however, we are certain she'll do it well.

Mike is a new student here at Mingus, this year. He is in band and is always there to lend a helping hand. We are not certain of what he plans to do after he gets out of school, but we are sure he’ll be a success, too. Cynthia Fitz

Busy, busy, busy! Cindy has a lot on her mind. Activities include Pom Pons 1 year, Cheering 3 years, F.T.A. 3 years, Pep Club 4 years, V. O. C.A. 2 years, Model U. N. and National Honor Society. Future plans point to N.A.U. and keeping Anne Wolsieffer in line. Rebecca Frank

"Becky"

Music has played an important part in Becky's high school life, as she was in our chorus for all four years. Always spirited, she was in Pep Club for two years and can always be seen at track and cross country meets. She has been in Model U . N. and was secretary of the Senior class. After graduating, Becky and Karen Self are planning on going to France for a month. Returning, she will attend Adams State College and become a Medical Technologist.

Most Seniors will agree that Nancy was one of our star "Powder Puff" football heroes. Activ­ ities in G. A. A. are 3 years baseball, and 1 year volleyball. She is uncertain about her future. Russell Freeman

Russell, like Herb, will be remembered for his "hot" car. Sports such as football and basket­ ball take up his school time. Going to college lies ahead in his future.

Dick became very involved in sports his junior and senior years, especially in football and track. Also, he was in Lettermens and Key Club. After school hours, Dick enjoys fishing, hunt­ ing, driving cars and electronics. His future plans call for majoring in business at N.A.U.

Tom has been involved in football 3 yrs. , Lettermen Club 2 yrs. and F.F.A. 4 yrs. Leisure time is spent hunting. In the future he plans to go to college. Richard Goy

Although he usually has a quiet manner, Dick could always help liven up a class. After graduation, he plans on getting a job in Nogalas. Dana Guinn

This year Dana has been active in several of Omar's plays. Other activities include band, cheering 3 yrs. , student council, Pep Club. Hobbies such as water skiing, bicycling and theatre occupies part of her time. The rest is spent with John. Future plans include marriage. Doug Hackett

Always active in athletics, Doug will long be remembered for his prowess in football and baseball. Besides being a gluton, Doug was Homecoming King, enjoys activities in both Key Club anti. .Lettermens Club. Future plans include attending college.

"Penelope"

Penny's school spirit was well illustrated in her hour years at Mingus. Her activities included FTA, Pep Club, cheering, VOCA, as well as being Homecoming attendent both her freshmen and senior yrs. On her hobbies she wrote, "You name it, and I do it within reason. " She plans on traveling and attending either a Junior College or A.S.U. after graduation. Randall Hauk

"Scum"

Randall can be seen driving his little white truck in the wee hours of the morning, delivering newspapers. And then his spare time is spent drawing. After a couple of years, Randall wants to attend college.

Before coming to Mingus, Meg was active in Student Council, Glee Club, National Latin Club, Forensics, and Youth Action Core. One of her favorite pastimes is showing horses. Her other hobbies include skiing, skating, swimming, and snowmobiling. After graduating, she plans on becoming a C. P. A. by majoring in accounting at A. S. U. Janice Hester

"Crip"

New this year, Janice is already very active in G. A. A. She enjoys sewing and cooking. Even though Janice is uncertain about college, she plans on going to work. John Hixon

"Harvey"

John has been active in football 1,2, Wrestling 1, F.F.A. 1,2, 3, 4, and Lettermans Club 1,2. He has a pleasant personality, enjoys hunting, fishing, and swimming. Future highlights include attending heavy equipment school.

Eric Hodgins

"Eric”

Eric has been busy these past 4 years helping Mr. O'Donnell. Activities include Track 1,2, 3,4, Cross Country, Wrestling 1,2,3, Lettermens Club, Key Club, National Honor Society and the Derailleurs. He plans on attending A. S. U. , of course, and studying architecture. Julie Hoff

Julie has been very musical here at Mingus. She has participated in Chorus and the Stage Band, as well as in VOCA. Mucis plays an important part in her life out of school as well as in school. She enjoys football and plans to go to N. A.U. and attend the College of Business there.

Along with being F. T. A. secretary, Donna belongs to pep Club and VOCA. After graduating she plans on going to college. Michael Hopper

"Mike”

Mike's school activities include Drama and ditching as well as being a cute cheerleader at Powder Puff. Listed as his hobbies are: Boxing, cars, girls, peace. After graduating he has several avenues of action open to him, these inlude travel, the service, college or at the extreme, marraige. Brad Howell

Brad has been at Mingus all four years and was in golf his freshman year. He has been involved volved in many activities, including co-op this year. His future plans are still not definite.

"Kip"

Raymond has been active in football and wrestling during his four years at Mingus. His hobbies are pallets, parties, and "Girls". Raymond's future plans are studing to be a construc­ tion engineer.

Lorna has been very active in G.A. A. 4 years, twirler 4 years, Pep Club 3 years, VOCA 1 year, and powder puff 3 years. Her hobbies consist of horses, sports, twirling, and "Raymond". Future plans are to settle down and have a home, husband, and later a family. Chris Johnson

Chris is well known at Mingus especially with a certain sophomore "Nanette". He has been active in football 2,4, and hobbies are sports and partying. He plans to attend Arizona Automo­ tive Institute.

Charlene is active in Pep Club 2 years, VOCA 1 year, and Powder Puff 2 years. Hobbies include sports, 4-H projects, and one of Mingus' well known cowboys, "Mike Kester". Future plans are W. O. R. K.

Kathy has enjoyed Drama and VOCA during her years at Mingus. She plans to attend N.A.U. and get an MA in Archeology. Good luck, Kathy.

Mike's main activity in Mingus has been the band. He really enjoys music. He plans to work after he has graduated.

Wayne has been active in sports throughout his four years at Mingus. He has participated in wrestling for four years, football for three, and he has been a member of the Letterman's Club for three years. He plans to go into the service.

Garnet's four years at Mingus were full of making friends. She took four years of Home-Ec. , participated in 3^ years of P.E. and was active in V.O.C.A. 2 years. She is going to California after graduation.

Dana's favorite activity at Mingus has been living it up in the library, but she was also active in the Pep Club and Spanish Club. She's going to continue her education at N. A. U.

While attending Mingus, Ardith has been active in cheering and Pep Club. She will long be remembered for her friendly smile and bashful laugh. Lawrell Loser

"Laurie"

A very active student, Laurie has been a member of Library Club, FHA, French Club, Stu足 dent Council, Anti Pollution Club, and Chorus. In her spare time Laurie likes to swim, ride horses, write poetry, and most of all meet people. In the future Laurie hopes to become a teacher of the deaf. Burl Labson

"Moul"

Burl is very active in his spare time. Burl enjoys hunting, swimming, driving his car and skating. After graduation Burl plans to go to Ricks College for two years, then work in Sedona and marry his girl friend Melody. Karla Martin

Karla has been a member of Pep Club for 4 yrs. , G. A. A. 2 yrs. , Drama 1 yr. , V. O. C. A. 2 yrs, and Chorus 1 yr. Karla is also a three year veteran of Powder Puff Football. Karla's favorite hobby is putting shaving cream all over anything in the dark of the night. After grad足 uation she plans to attend Southwestern Prep in Phoenix to become a medical assistant.

Loma Maxwell

"Southpaw"

Lorna has been a member of Pom Pom, F. T. A. , Pep Club, Art, Chorus, and drama while attending Mingus. As hobbies she enjoys art, singing, and acting but most of all she is enjoying life. After graduation Lorna plans to work. Susan Miller

Susie has been active in cheering for 4 years, Chorus 2 years, Pep Club 4 years, F.T. A. 3 years, Model UN 4 years, and is a 2 year veteran of Powder Puff football. She says her big hobby is Paul and after graduation she plans to major in Education at the U. of A.

"Wop" or Dego"

David is a 3 year letterman in football and was named an honorable mention af All Confer足 ence as an end. Like most of us, David says he likes to goof off and he also enjoys swimming. After graduation David plans to attend the U. of A.

Anna Murphy

"Holly"

Holly has been a member of VOCA and National Honor Society. She says she enjoys hand足 crafts and sewing. After graduation she plans to work for a year and then attend a school for secretarial training.

Dale Major

"Stoney"

During his 4 years at Mingus we've all seen Dale snapping pictures from behind corners for the annual. Photography has been his main activity at school and ironically enough, its his hobby, too. You'll never guess what he plans to be in the future. Right! A photographer.

Robert's past four years at Mingus were spent collecting medals. He lettered four years in Track, two years in Basketball and one year Cross Country. He was a member of Key Club, National Honor Society, and a Boy's State Delegate. Robert plans to go to college.

Alberta Ontiveros

"Bertie"

Alberta will long be remembered for her sense of humor. She spent one year in Chorus and enjoys beadwork and dancing. She would like to stay in the Verde Valley for a couple of years working, then join the Women's Air Force. Debbie Osborne

Debbie is always there when something is needed to be done. Whe was on the Student Council two years, participated in G. A. A. , played on the Powder Puff team, and was a cheerleader for four years. She plans eventually to become a Home-Ec. teacher. Mary Carol Patterson

"Mary"

Mary has really enjoyed her four years at Mingus. She belonged to Chorus, Band, G. A. A. , and Drama. She enjoys cooking, reading, riding horses, and "boy watching. " She plans to attend college and later become a nurse. She is now planning for her wedding which will take place in the next ten years.

"Norma"

Norma is often seen hanging around the library with her favorite, faithful companion--Kevin. She always put a little pep into every's step with her Seymore Spirit. Debbie Peterson

"Debbie"

Debbie is new at Mingus this year. She is in V.O.C. A. and likes to sew. Debbie's future plans include going on to college.

Janel Phillips

"Jelly"

Janel's past four years at Mingus have been filled with activity. She was in Band, playing the flute, Chorus, the Pep Club, National Honor Society, and Mass Media. (Annual Photographer) She enjoys all kinds of crafts and is very good in Photography. She plans to go to college and would like to enter into Photography as a career.

"Sheila"

Sheila is another new student this year. She is a National Honor Society member. Sheila plans an April wedding.

During his 4 years at Mingus, Mike has been very active in the music department, participat­ ing in band, chorus, and stage band. He has also been involved in wrestling and football and was a member of Pep Club. He lists his hobbies as swimming, golf, hiking, reading, and just goofing off. Included in Mike's future is barber college and work.

"Deb"

Debbie's musical talent has added to the chorus for 3 years now. She's in art and loves abstract oil painting. Helping people with their problems and trying to understand them is Debbie's favorite pastime. Future plans include getting married and living happily ever after.

Nick Rosas

"Rosie"

Among his many interests in school, sports ranked high. He was active in both football and basketball, and is an avid coin collector. He also enjoys playing chess and listed studying as one of his hobbies. His future plans are to become a draftsman at any college he finds that he likes. Lance Rose

"Lobo"

Lance is quiet during the day, but active at night. Maybe that's why most of us know him as the wolfman. School activities include a lot of trouble and being a member of the track team. Julie St. Andre

Model UN was on Julie's high school agenda, as well as one year of band. She enjoys embroidery, sewing, cooking, reading, and painting. After graduating, she plans on "going to A .S.U . to major in accounting and whatever. " Gregg St. Clair

"Baby fat"

Gregg will long be remembered as an outstanding athlete at Mingus. His participation in football, basketball, and golf take a great part of his time. All that is left belongs to Marnes. Gregg plans on attending the college of Engineering at the U. of A. Steven St. John

"Nibelungenlieo"

This is Steve's first year here at Mingus, and since he's a senior it'll probably be his last. While here, Steve became active in graphic arts and will be remembered for his part in the newspaper they put out. However, he was extremely active prior to coming to Mingus, in every­ thing from Ping Pong to an Ecology Club. His hobbies are, "Going out of town" while his fifture plans are "staying out of town. "Carol"

Musical talent is Carol's greatest contribution to Mingus Union. Her four years here, have been busy as a member of chorus and band. This year she was crowned Miss Merry Christmas by the Chorus. Future plans are uncertain.

He has been with Mingus for four years and has been active in drama for two years helping run the lights and sound affects. Paul's plans for the future are not yet fully decided upon but will probably include working over the summer and then going to college in the fall.

Louise is very active in chorus this year at Mingus. She is a Pep Club member and never lets Mr. O'Donnell's track team go unnoticed. Her main interest is Duane Badger, of course.

"Maria”

Maria is our exchange student from Brazil this year. She enjoys traveling and making friends. High School in Brazil lasts seven years so after her return she will have three more years of schooling to complete. John Spencer

Although John didn't start school at Mingus until his junior year, he has really become popular (with Dana). John's hobbies are cars, drawing, and racing. John has been active in golf and football. His future plans are attending a school of architecture.

Larry has participated in football and track while at Mingus. He was first attendant in Homecoming this year. His future plans include attending U of A. Kim Tabeling

"Kimmer"

One of the busiest guys in school, Kim has been active in football 1, 2, and track 1, 2, 3,4, and running cross country. He belongs to Key Club, Letterman's Club, and National Honor Society and Pep Club. Kim loves to have fun and was a Powder Puff cheerleader. His plans are to attend college. Jennifer Thompson

Always busy, Anne's activities have been, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior class president; member of F.T. A. for 4 years and held the offices of President, Historian, State Editor, and is the State President. Honors include National Honor Society, Girls State, D.A. R. and the A.S.U. Medallion of Merit Award. Her future plans are to attend college, travel, make lots of money or marry a millionare, whichever comes first.

Dave says his main school activity is Sue and his favorite hobby is hiking in Sycamore Canyon. After graduating, he plans on going to Phoenix and taking up an apprenticeship in Drywalling.

Playing batminton and being in the band take up most of Pat's time at school. She likes to go snowmobiling, flying and travels a great deal. After school, Pat wants to major in either pharmacy or accounting at A. S. U. Bob Zeek

You can't miss Bob walking through the halls. He towers over everything and everybody. Bob went to Boys state, Model U. N. and is Student Council Treasurer this year. Bob is an active member of band, chorus and just about anything he can handle. Bob played basketball and is now manager. Out of school he enjoys music and church. Bob plans on going to N. A.U. Tom actually made it through all 4 years at Mingus. Amazing, isn't it? Not really. Actually he got with it and lettered in Football and track, and is therefore a member of lettermans club. His future plans are undecided, but we are sure he will do something "great" someday.
