Welcome to the Johnson | Oakes Genetics Inaugural B ull Sale in Taloga, Oklahoma. What an exciting time to be in the beef industry. With reco rd high cattle prices and historically low cow herd numbers, there has never been a more impor tant time to invest in the genetics of y our operation. With that in mind, Johnson | Oakes, Vanderwork Herefords and Johnson Cattle have carefully assembled this exceptional se t of Charolais, Hereford and Angus bulls for your appraisal.
David and Richie recognize that strong cow families form the foundation of their herd. By prioritizing high-quality females based on essentia l traits such as sound structure, body volume, efficiency, and excellent dispositions, the y have built a cow herd designed for longevity and real-world functionality. Simply put— good cows raise great bulls. These bulls were developed on wheat pasture through out the winter and, after catalog photos were taken, transitioned to a high roughage ration. This development strategy is designed to promote longevity and ensure these bull s perform for you not only on turnout day, but for years to come.
All bulls and commercial pairs are available for vi ewing at Stidham Ranch Headquarters. We will be on-site Friday, May 1 as well as prior to t he start of the sale on Saturday, May 2. Visitors are always welcome ahead of these dates; h owever, we kindly ask that you call in advance. We would also like to thank Derrick for co nsigning an outstanding group of commercial females and for hosting the bulls leadin g up to the sale.
Videos of all lots are available prior to the sale through Superior Livestock’s Purebred Sale listing. The cattle will not be sold through a trad itional sale ring. Instead, we invite you to join us at the Dewey County Fairgrounds for a desse rt bar and refreshments, with the auction beginning promptly at 3:00 PM. Videos will be displayed on monitors during the sale, so we encourage you to view the cattle beforehand a t Stidham Ranch Headquarters. If you are unable to attend in person, members of o ur sale staff are available to assist you over the phone, or you may participate through live online bidding at Bid.SuperiorLivestock.com.

We are excited to welcome Stidham Ranch as a guest consignor to our inaugural bull sale in Taloga! This set of northern sourced, commercial black, first-calf pairs represent the best genetics of elite Angus herds in the country — developed, calved and climatized to Oklahoma. Calves at side born in February by Schaff and Conneally sires. Bull calves will be knife cut prior to the sale and all calves will have been administered two rounds of vaccinations. Cows sell exposed April 1, 2026 to sale day to SimAngus bull, TJ 785M ASA#4365643, Homo Polled and Homo Black, from Triangle J Ranch, Nebraska.
