A firm favourite of Queen Victoria in the 19th century, the island is one of the UK’s most popular destinations and it’s easy to see why. On this fantastic break we enjoy the island’s peace, tranquility and natural beauty as well as a nostalgic journey on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and a visit to fascinating Osborne House.
ITINERARY Day 1 From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight and travel onwards to our hotel. Day 2 - Osborne House & Cowes We have the chance to explore Queen Victoria’s one-time residence on the island, Osborne House. Built as a holiday home and rural retreat in the late 1840s, the Italianate palace reflects Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s tastes and boasts spectacular views across the Solent. It is no wonder that Victoria herself once said, ‘it’s impossible to imagine a prettier spot.’ Here we take an intimate glimpse of royal family life as we wander through the magnificent Royal Apartments as well as the walled gardens and grounds where we find the charming Swiss Cottage, used by the royal children to learn household management. We then head to Cowes, a vibrant and sophisticated resort home to the world-famous regatta that swells the local population each August. Enjoy a stroll along the seafront, browse the boutique shops, or admire many of the town’s ornate buildings which date from Queen Victoria’s time, in the style popularised by Prince Albert.
We'll stay at one of four hotels: Shanklin Beach Hotel, Shanklin JG2+ The Shanklin Beach Hotel is located on Shanklin’s seafront, offering stunning sea views. The en-suite rooms feature satellite TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. The hotel also offers a bar and restaurant with views of the esplanade. Medehamstede Hotel, Shanklin JG2 The family-run Medehamstede Hotel is situated in the coastal town of Shanklin set within spacious, well-kept gardens. A Victorian building with plenty of character, the comfortable rooms feature Freeview TV. Royal Pier Hotel, Sandown JG2+ The Royal Pier Hotel was originally built by the Victorians for Princess Beatrice and boasts a seafront location in the resort of Sandown, facing one of the finest beaches on the Isle of Wight, and offers easy access to the town centre. Cowes Day 3 - Island Highlights Tour Our fantastic optional Island Highlights tour takes in this unique island’s many famous sights, starting with the pretty inland village of Godshill, famous for its charming thatched-roofed cottages and delightful medieval church. Next is the quaint village of Chale before a photo stop at the iconic chalky outcrop, The Needles, the defining sight of the Isle of Wight. We continue to the historic port town of Yarmouth, which contains some of the oldest architecture on the island including a 16th-century castle, and lastly visit Newport, regarded as the capital of the Isle of Wight, with a historic quayside and selection of speciality shops.
Osborne House Day 4 - Isle of Wight Steam Railway & Ryde We journey back to a bygone era as we board the award-winning Isle of Wight Steam Railway at Havenstreet. Sit back and relax in beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages as we enjoy the rolling views of the glorious Isle of Wight countryside. We pass through quaint rural stations, quiet hamlets and ancient woodland on our journey to the seaside resort of Ryde. Afterwards we spend some time at leisure in Ryde with its long stretch of golden sand, pretty esplanade, marina and beautiful gardens. Take a stroll along the famous 19th-century pier, the oldest in England, or admire the many boats moored in the town’s busy harbour.

ITINERARY Day 1 From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to our hotel. Day 2 - Lewes We visit the bustling market town of Lewes, surrounded by the spectacular chalk cliffs of the South Downs. Known for its rich heritage and independent spirit, Lewes is home to historic buildings, charming lanes and traditional markets. The imposing Norman castle dominates the skyline, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can enjoy exploring the town’s antique shops, cosy cafés and landmarks such as Anne of Cleves House or the 15th-century bookshop, all adding to the town’s unique character. Day 3 - Bluebell Railway & Sheffield Park Gardens We begin our day with a nostalgic journey aboard the Bluebell Railway, travelling in lovingly restored vintage carriages from East Grinstead to Sheffield Park Station. Sit back and enjoy the views as
Lewes we steam through rolling hills and peaceful woodlands, a gentle and scenic ride through the Sussex countryside. On arrival, we make our way to nearby Sheffield Park Gardens, where there's time to wander at our own pace. Originally laid out in the 18th century, these beautiful gardens are a joy to explore with tranquil lakes, sweeping lawns and colourful planting that offers interest in every season.
Rye Day 4 - Optional Excursion to Rye & Hastings (£15pp) We explore the heart of 1066 Country, beginning with the enchanting hilltop town of Rye. Once a medieval stronghold and smugglers’ haven, it now offers a delightful mix of cobbled lanes, hidden passageways and centuries-old architecture. Wander through Mermaid Street, lined with picturesque half-timbered houses and perhaps visit the Ypres Tower or the charming independent shops and tearooms that make Rye so memorable. Next, we continue to the historic coastal town of Hastings, forever linked with the Norman Conquest of 1066. Here we can view the atmospheric ruins of Hastings Castle, the first in England to be commissioned by William the Conqueror. The town’s characterful Old Town is a treasure trove of narrow streets, antique shops, traditional pubs and maritime charm, with its net huts, museums and working fishing fleet adding to the vibrant seafront atmosphere. Land's End new to set our eyes on. The aerial walkway affords lovely views over the Rainforest Biome, the largest enclosed rainforest in the world. Day 4 - Land's End & Penzance Today we start the day with a trip to Land’s End, the breathtaking headland on the Penwith peninsula, located at the westernmost point of mainland Cornwall. Here, the rugged cliffs rise majestically above the Atlantic Ocean, offering visitors panoramic views that stretch to the horizon.
This iconic landmark is steeped in history and legend, with its name signifying the literal end of the land in Old English. It's a place where the beauty of nature is on full display, from the wildflowers decorating the coastal paths to the dramatic sunsets that paint the sky. It is a truly wonderful sight to behold and an unforgettable experience. Afterwards, we head to one of the most famous towns in Cornwall. Penzance, nestled in a sheltered position in beautiful Mounts Bay. The town still holds all the charms of a bygone age, with an attractive seafront promenade, sub-tropical gardens and a stunning view of the castle at St Michael’s Mount. ITINERARY Day 1 From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to our hotel. Day 2 - Dartmoor National Park: Buckfast Abbey, Princetown & Tavistock Home to a community of Benedictine monks, Buckfast Abbey lies on the banks of the River Dart. Here, we soak up the peaceful atmosphere and explore the beautiful Abbey church with its art treasures. There’s also time to wander the tranquil gardens and browse the gift and produce shops. We then continue on a scenic drive through Dartmoor National Park; this wild heart of Devon is peppered with moss-blanketed boulders, honey-coloured heaths, tinkling streams and cinematic granite tors. Look out for rare wildlife before we reach our next stop; Princetown. Our next stop is Tavistock. This classic West Country market town is the gateway to the Cornwall and West Devon Mining World Heritage Site. Explore the

Day 3 - Optional Excursion to Dawlish & Teignmouth (£15pp) Our optional excursion takes us first to Dawlish, a quaint and friendly resort that was once a tiny fishing village until the Victorian Railway Age turned it into a thriving seaside town. It nestles between striking red sandstone cliffs overlooking a sandy beach, with the railway still running right alongside
the seafront. We then make our way to Teignmouth, a handsome estuary town which has the benefits of a bustling harbour as well as the classic attractions of a seaside resort. It boasts an elegant Georgian crescent, promenade and Victorian pier with fine views across the bay. Day 4 - Dartmouth, River Dart Cruise & Totnes We start the day with some time at leisure in the riverside town of Dartmouth. Former home of Agatha Christie, it is easily one of Devon's prettiest destinations. Explore the pastel-coloured buildings leaning at angles and the picturesque harbour laden with yachts and pleasure boats. Next, we enjoy a relaxing cruise along the calm waters of the River Dart, where we admire the magnificent buildings, including the Britannia Royal Naval College and Agatha Christie’s Greenway Estate. Cameras at the ready for the Sharpham Estate with its vineyards and steep, wooded hillsides plunging down to the water’s edge. We disembark in the historic market town of Totnes, a helter-skelter of charming streets and fine Tudor buildings nestled beneath the silhouette of the sturdy Norman castle. We have time to explore the boutique shops famed for their range of ethical products, whole foods and fair trade goods. Best known for its Bakewell Pudding, the town boasts an ancient five-arched bridge, riverside walks and independent shops. Take a stroll and enjoy the views along the River Wye or indulge in some local treats at one of its many cafés.
Day 4 - Eyam & Chatsworth House We head first to Eyam, known as the ‘Plague Village’ due to the events of 1665-66 when the plague was brought from London to this tiny community. The village has craft workshops, a gift shop and tea rooms to enjoy before we move on to Chatsworth House. The magnificent estate is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and has witnessed sixteen generations of the powerful Cavendish family. It boasts grandiose interiors, wonderful grounds and a superlative art collection. Chatsworth also appeared as Pemberley in the 2005 movie adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. York Day 3 - Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway & Grassington We take a trip on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, a preserved heritage railway that runs for four miles between the award-winning Bolton Abbey station and Embsay station, which was built in 1888. Both stations offer gift shops and tea rooms and most trains are hauled by beautifully-restored steam engines, the oldest one dating back to 1908. As you sit back and relax, imagine you are travelling in the Golden Age of steam while admiring the Yorkshire Dales landscapes.
Grassington Afterwards, we make our way to the market town of Skipton for a relaxing cruise on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, one of the highlights of the Yorkshire Dales and a lovely way to soak up the surrounding scenery. There is then some free time in the town itself, known as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’ and complete with a grand medieval castle as its centrepiece. For our last stop we head to Grassington, a delight to visit with its bustling cobbled market square, fringed by shops offering local arts and crafts, all set against a beautiful scenic backdrop in the Yorkshire Dales. Day 4 - Settle-Carlisle Railway Our memorable journey on the world-famous Settle to Carlisle Railway might well be the highlight of our break. Arguably the most scenic line in the country, it took 6,000 men seven years to build! The line cuts a 72-mile swathe across the Yorkshire Dales, over the 24 arches of the Ribblehead Viaduct, through the long tunnel at Blea Moor and on past the lush pastures of the Eden Valley. We arrive in Carlisle, where we enjoy some free time at leisure in this historic border city, before taking our return train.

Day 2 - Snowdon Mountain Railway After breakfast, we head to Llanberis for a special experience: a journey on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. This delightful rack railway journey has been operating since 1896, thrilling passengers with the incredible sight of the Ceunant Mawr waterfall, cascading into the gorge below, and the simply breathtaking vistas over the sheer edge of Rocky Valley. Once we reach the summit, we spend half an hour at Hafod Eryri, the UK's highest visitor centre. Take in the views (which stretch across to Ireland on a clear day), enjoy a treat in the café or you could even send a postcard from the summit post box!

Day 3 - Puffin Island & Llandudno Our day begins with a delightful wildlife cruise around the famous Puffin Island, a bird sanctuary off the coast of Anglesey. Admire the beautiful coastal scenery, looking out for Atlantic grey seals, resident coastal birds, visiting sea birds and – of course – puffins! If we’re lucky, we may even spot a porpoise or dolphin playing in the waters.
We then head to Llandudno, the 'Queen of the Welsh Resorts' famed for its golden beach flanked by the Great and Little Ormes headlands plus its wonderful air of traditional Victorian charm. From strolling along the beautiful coast to exploring the famous Llandudno pier, or perhaps a spot of shopping at the Victoria Centre, there is plenty to do here.
Snowdonia Day 4 - Snowdonia & Bala Lake Railway In the morning we embark on a scenic drive through the stunning landscapes of Snowdonia National Park to the picturesque village of Betws-y-Coed. There are plenty of craft shops and cafés to enjoy, set against the backdrop of coniferous forests, which has earned this area the name ‘Little Switzerland’. Elsewhere, look out for the ancient 14th-century church of St Michael’s, which is one of the oldest in Wales, or head to the historic Pont-y-Pair bridge for postcard-perfect views. We continue to Llancwchllyn to board our train on the Bala Lake Railway. This old-fashioned narrow-gauge railway runs along the southern shores of the country's largest natural lake, offering a return journey through stunning Snowdonia scenery, woodland and mountains. It's a wonderful way to end our final day of excursions!

We descend the mountain, making a short stop in Pontsticill for refreshments before returning to Pant via stunning Abergavenny.
Bristol Harbour On the way back to the hotel we enjoy a scenic coach drive through the Brecon Beacons National Park, allowing us to admire the spectacular landscapes from a different perspective. Shaped by the Ice Age, there is no shortage of dramatic scenery in this stunning National Park. Day 4 - Bristol Harbour Cruise We sit back and relax on a cruise around Bristol Harbour. ITINERARY Day 1 From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to our overnight hotel.
Day 3 - Kelpies & V&A Dundee We begin our day at The Helix Visitor Centre to admire The Kelpies, the world’s largest equine sculptures and a breathtaking feat of engineering by Scottish artist Andy Scott. We then travel to the vibrant city of Dundee for a visit to the striking V&A Dundee, Scotland’s first design museum. Inside, engaging exhibitions celebrate design past, present and future, with a particular focus on Scottish creativity and innovation. Our journey continues along the scenic Angus coast as we make our way to Aberdeen, Scotland’s Granite City.

Royal Yacht Britannia Day 4 - Balmoral Castle* We visit Balmoral Castle, the majestic Highland retreat of the Royal Family, since Prince Albert purchased it for Queen Victoria in 1852. Enchanted by the wild beauty of the Highlands, they made it a beloved personal residence - a tradition that continues to this day. Our visit offers a rare glimpse into the private side of royal life, all set against a stunning Highland backdrop. Later, we travel north through the Spey Valley, passing the charming town of Grantown-on-Spey en route to Inverness. *Please note: for our September departure, Crathes Castle will replace Balmoral Castle. Day 5 - Loch Ness cruise & Fort William After an early breakfast, we begin our day with a magical cruise on the legendary Loch Ness. As we glide across its mysterious waters, we’re surrounded by dramatic Highland scenery and perhaps we may even glimpse the elusive Nessie! Our journey continues to Fort William, nestled at the foot of Ben Nevis. Here, we have free time to explore the town’s charming shops or enjoy a peaceful stroll along the shores of Loch Linnhe. Later, we visit Oban, a harbour town called the ‘Gateway to the Isles’, known for its waterfront, Victorian architecture and seafood. We end the day in Inveraray for an overnight stay. Day 6 - Inveraray Castle & Loch Lomond After breakfast, we start our day with a visit to Inveraray Castle, an elegant 18th-century masterpiece situated against the stunning backdrop of the Argyll Highlands. We then continue to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, where the scenery shifts to shimmering

Day 2 - Edinburgh After breakfast, we leave our hotel for Edinburgh. Here, we visit the iconic Edinburgh Castle atop Castle Rock, explore the Old Town, Royal Mile and enjoy boutique shops and cafés in the Georgian New Town. For a regal change of pace, step aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia and explore five fascinating decks of Queen Elizabeth II’s former floating palace - a glimpse into royal life at sea. Afterwards, we journey to our hotel in Cumbernauld for dinner and our overnight stay.

Day 1 From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to our overnight hotel. Day 2 - Loch Lomond & Fort William After breakfast, the stunning scenery of Loch Lomond, Scotland’s first national park, awaits. We pause in the picturesque village of Luss, with its neat rows of chocolate-box cottages, dramatic hills and spectacular views stretching across the loch. A morning coffee here is the perfect way to take it all in. Next, we continue to Fort William, where there is free time to explore at your own pace. Visit the West Highland Museum, admire the towering presence of Ben Nevis, or wander the local boutiques before enjoying a treat in one of the cosy cafés. A stroll along the banks of Loch Linnhe completes your visit. Later, we travel to the Craiglynne Hotel, Grantown-on-Spey, where we will stay for the next three nights.

Mallaig Day 3 - West Highland Line & Mallaig A memorable day awaits, beginning with a scenic drive through the specactular Cairngorms National Park to Fort William, a picturesque town which sits in the shadow of Ben Nevis on the shores of Loch Linnhe. Here we board ‘The Jacobite’ steam train and travel across the mountainous west coast of Scotland, considered by many to be the most scenic rail journey in the world. This section of the West Highland Line crosses the 100ft-high Glenfinnan Viaduct used in the Harry Potter film sequences featuring the Hogwarts Express. You don’t need to be a Harry Potter fan to appreciate this journey though, as the scenery in reality beats any cinematography hands down! We disembark in the picturesque port of Mallaig for some free time.
Please note: the Kyle Railway Line journey may operate in reverse. Day 5 - Edinburgh After checking out of our hotel we travel to the atmospheric capital of Scotland, Edinburgh. With its impressive skyline, dominated by Edinburgh Castle, the city is full of historical and cultural places of interest amidst its cobbled streets. Whether you spend time in the charming tea rooms, searching the rails of vintage clothes shops or discovering one of the many fascinating attractions, there is plenty in Edinburgh to suit all tastes. Day 6 After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and board the coach for the journey home.

Day 4 - Kyle of Lochalsh Railway & Aviemore We head to the historic market town of Dingwall to join the Kyle Railway Line, a beautiful journey which has been likened to a symphony in three parts: pastoral, mountain and marine. From the perfect vantage point, we enjoy the magnificent remote landscapes, taking in many of the area’s shimmering lochs and wild moors along the way. Part of our journey also meanders along the southern bank of the mysterious Beauly Firth and past the huge isolated mountain of Ben Wyvis before reaching the pretty village of Kyle of Lochalsh.

Day 6 - Stirling & Gretna Green After breakfast, we check out of our hotel near Aviemore and travel south to the historic city of Stirling. Day 1 We fly to Glasgow airport and make our way to the Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport (within walking distance from the airport), where we stay overnight. Day 2 – Scenic drive to Thurso After breakfast we travel north, passing by Cairngorms National Park, a mountain paradise populated with rare plants and wildlife and the most extensive Caledonian forests in Scotland. We continue north, past Inverness and up the Eastern flank on the world-famous NC500 route. When we arrive in Thurso, at the very top of Scotland, we check in to the Castletown Hotel, our base for the next two nights. Day 3 – John O’Groats & Castle of Mey We start our day with a morning excursion to the most northerly point of mainland Britain. There are spectacular views of Caithness’s north coast and the Orkney Islands, as well as the well-photographed tourist signpost. Next, we journey along the coast to our second stop of the day, the magnificent Castle of Mey in Caithness. Built between 1566 and 1572 by the 4th Earl of Caithness, the castle has a rich history with many structural alterations and changes over the years.
Northlink Ferries Day 4 – Skara Brae, Skaill House & Ring of Brodgar This morning, we embark on our two-night cruise and travel to the Orkney Islands. We journey from Scrabster to Stromness, enjoying a light lunch during the crossing. Our first excursion of the day takes us to the dramatic white beach of the Bay of Skaill to discover the stone-built Neolithic settlement, Skara Brae. Next, we visit Skail House, a historic 17th-century manor in Orkney. It was home to the 7th Laird of Breckness, who discovered Skara Brae in 1850. Inside, we explore Neolithic collections and a 1950s life exhibition. We finish our day at the Stones of Stenness, or as they are otherwise known, the Ring of Brodgar. Afterwards, we enjoy a lovely dinner in Kirkwall before our overnight sailing to Lerwick, Shetland’s main town and port.

Caithness Day 4 – Caithness & Sutherland on Route 500 Today makes up a large part of the North Coast 500, guaranteed to leave a lasting memory with its breathtaking scenery. Along the way, we meander through Caithness, an awe-inspiring county with an incredible coastline, wild beaches, a rich heritage and magnificent castles such as the Castle of Mey. Later, we check in to our hotel in either Thurso (April and July) or Wick (October), where we stay for the next two nights. Day 5 – The Orkney Isles We take a ferry to St Margaret’s and explore the Orkney Isles with a guide. We cross the Churchill Barriers, built as naval defences after HMS Royal Oak sank in 1939, now connecting the islands. At the Bay of Skaill, we visit Skara Brae, a Neolithic stone settlement, followed by the Stones of Stenness, also known as the Ring of Brodgar. Our tour continues at the ornate Italian Chapel. After admiring its interiors, we head to Kirkwall, Orkney's largest town. Highlights include St Magnus Cathedral, the Light in the North, Orkney Museum showcasing history from the Iron Age to Vikings, and unique shops and seafood eateries. Day 6 After checking out of our hotel, we board the coach and begin our journey southwards, staying overnight at Glasgow Airport.

Day 1 From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to our overnight hotel. Day 2 - Loch Lomond cruise We cruise to Loch Lomond, a captivating National Park renowned for its breathtaking landscapes. Enjoy the fresh air and gentle waves, surrounded by forests and hills, with majestic Ben Lomond towering in the distance. Day 3 - Scenic Highlands Journey through the Highlands, with views of majestic mountains, serene lochs and lush landscapes. We stop in the picturesque town of Inveraray, known for its stunning architecture and rich history and explore Inveraray Castle, home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll. A striking example of neo-Gothic architecture, the castle features grand turrets and elegant interiors, and we wander through the opulent rooms filled with historical artefacts and paintings, as well as the beautifully manicured garden lawns. We spend the afternoon in the charming town of Oban, where we explore its bustling harbour. Known as the 'Gateway to the Isles', the town is surrounded by beautiful views of the nearby islands.
Ayr Loch Lomond We have time to wander here before heading back to our hotel for a later dinner. Day 4 - Fort William We travel to Fort William and enjoy free time here, exploring the local attractions, such as the West Highland Museum and views from Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain. There's a chance to wander local boutiques or take a stroll along the banks of Loch Linnhe. With an open ticket to the Nevis Gondola included, we experience a scenic ride and absorb the stunning views and clear mountain air.
Day 5 - Ayr & Gretna Green On our return journey to our overnight hotel near Penrith, we travel through Irvine and Troon, and make an en-route stop at the popular seaside resort of Ayr. This little beach town boasts a charming seafront with an esplanade and many fine Georgian and Victorian buildings. We also make a short stop at Gretna Green, the marriage capital of the world. In this famous village lies the original spot where young eloping couples would marry ‘over the anvil’ at the Blacksmiths Shop. Day 6 After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and board the coach for the journey home.

Day 1 From a morning pickup in your local area we catch the ferry from Heysham to Douglas, then onwards to our hotel. Day 2 – Day at leisure in Douglas Day 3 – Manx Electric Railway, Laxey Wheel & Snaefell Mountain Railway We take a trip on the historic Manx Electric Railway, which still uses its original Victorian and Edwardian rolling stock. From Douglas, our train journeys along the scenic east coast with views of the beautiful Manx countryside on one side and far-reaching vistas beyond the stunning cliffs on the other. We disembark in Laxey to visit the Laxey Wheel, the largest working waterwheel in the world and known colloquially as the Lady Isabella. Admire this feat of Victorian engineering, watch the mighty wheel turn and even climb to the top for panoramic scenes from across the Glen Mooar Valley. From here, we join the Snaefell Mountain Railway, the only electric mountain railway in the British Isles. Dating from 1895, electric-powered trains take passengers over 2,000ft up to the summit of Snaefell, the Isle of Man’s highest point. Here we enjoy superb scenery, and if it’s a clear day, can even catch a glimpse of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales!
Cregneash Day 4 – Douglas Bay Horse Tramway, Ramsey & Peel This morning we step back in time and enjoy a ride on the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway along Douglas Promenade. The horse trams have been in existence since 1876 on the Isle of Man and have carried plenty of royal visitors, including Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother and Princess Margaret. We continue to the peaceful port town of Ramsey, the island’s second-largest town, sheltered against the magnificent backdrop of the North Barrule hills. Home to masses of sand and shingle beach, the town also boasts one of the biggest harbours on the island. Next stop is Peel, a charming fishing port with a history spanning hundreds of years. Day 5 – Day at leisure in Douglas Day 6 – Castletown, Port Erin, Cregneash & Isle of Man Steam Railway After some free time in Castletown, the original capital of the island, we journey to Port Erin, a peaceful town with pretty gardens and a sandy beach that was first favoured by Victorian holidaymakers. Next is a brief photo stop at The Sound at the island’s southern tip, a hotspot for local wildlife, from sunbathing seals on the rocks to basking sharks and dolphins in the blue waters below. Continuing with more Isle of Man highlights, we discover the fascinating living museum of Cregneash Folk Village, one of the last settlements on the island that embraces the native Manx culture. Here we explore the crofting way of life in a carefully maintained village full of white, thatched cottages and period workshops, with painstaking displays of traditional practices and residents continue to use the old local dialect. We end the day with a scenic trip from Port St Mary, a beautiful small harbour, back to Douglas on the well-preserved, narrow-gauge Isle of Man Steam Railway. As the island’s oldest Victorian rail system, this journey offers a mesmerising glimpse into the golden age of steam in restored vintage carriages, travelling through glorious countryside, sparkling shorelines, past quaint towns and charming fishing ports. Day 7 We catch the morning ferry back to Heysham and continue our journey home.

On this five-day getaway, we experience some of the island’s best features with excursions to the pretty seaside towns of Ramsey and Peel, as well as the magnificent Laxey Wheel, a grand feat of Victorian engineering which is still in operation today. We also travel on the vintage Manx Electric Railway and the mountain-climbing Snaefell Mountain Railway, which takes us to the summit of the island’s highest peak to enjoy the spectacular views.

Isle of Man Day 3 - Ramsey & Peel Our half-day excursion first takes us to the peaceful port town of Ramsey, the island’s second-largest town, sheltered against the magnificent backdrop of the North Barrule hills. ITINERARY Day 1 We fly to Guernsey, where we are met on arrival and escorted to our coach for the short transfer to our hotel in Saints Bay.

Day 2 - Sark We transfer to Guernsey’s St Peter Port harbour and catch the morning ferry to beautiful Sark, where we can experience life at a different pace. Just two square miles in size, this car-free island is the smallest of the four main Channel Islands and boasts some spectacular scenery, which we discover on a leisurely one-hour carriage ride. Day 3 - Guernsey Island Highlights Tour We enjoy a half-day tour of Guernsey where we take in the island’s pretty sights such as the famous Little Chapel, one of the smallest chapels in the world, which features in the novel The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society. Sark Day 4 - Flight to Jersey After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and transfer to Guernsey Airport with assistance from the team. Day 5 - Jersey Island Highlights Tour We take a delightful tour along Jersey’s spectacular coastline. ITINERARY Day 1 We fly to Jersey, where we are met on arrival and escorted to our coach for the short transfer to our hotel in St Helier. Day 3 - Island Highlights Tour Our tour takes in Jersey’s spectacular coastline. Highlights include St Aubin Bay and St Brelade’s Bay, one of the island’s most popular resort beaches, the rugged north coast overlooking the neighbouring Channel Islands and the famous Corbière lighthouse on the south-western corner of the island. We also visit St Ouen’s Bay with its miles of golden sand and rolling Atlantic waves – a prime spot for surfing and picturesque Gorey harbour overlooked by Mont Orgueil Castle. Throughout the day we will have plenty of photo stops and opportunities to walk along the way and have refreshments.
Perhaps visit Mont Orgueil Castle, overlooking the picturesque fishing village of Gorey, or uncover Jersey’s wartime history at the fascinating Jersey War Tunnels. However you choose to spend your time, the island’s gentle pace and stunning scenery make it the perfect setting to relax, explore and enjoy. Day 6 We check out of our hotel and transfer to Jersey Airport for our return flight home.

Day 7 – Dublin Finally, we head to Dublin and enjoy a guided tour. After our guided tour we enjoy free time in the city before spending the night in our hotel in the Dublin area.
Belfast Day 4 – Sligo & Galway Leaving Donegal, we travel to the pretty coastal town of Sligo. Surrounded by rugged landscapes, Sligo boasts a castle, medieval abbey, traditional pubs and plenty of shopping opportunities. Next stop is Galway where we enjoy a short orientation with our tour manager. This thriving, cosmopolitan destination was named European Capital of Culture in 2020. It may be the fastest growing city in Ireland but it has managed to retain its friendly atmosphere. We continue on to our hotel. Day 5 – Limerick & Tralee We head for Limerick where we enjoy a short orientation with our tour manager. Set on the River Shannon, Limerick is overlooked by the 13th-century King John’s Castle and has a rich history, which we learn about on our tour. From here we travel to our hotel in Tralee, the county town of County Kerry, where we spend the next two nights. Day 6 – The Ring of Kerry & Killarney We embark on a scenic guided tour of the Ring of Kerry, journeying through an untouched landscape of tranquil lakes and rolling hills, passing through charming towns such as Killorglin, Waterville and Kenmare. We then head to pretty Killarney, famed for its jaunting cars (horse-drawn carts) operated by the local jarvies that take visitors on guided tours of the town.
Day 8 We check out of our hotel very early to catch the ferry back to Holyhead; therefore a voucher will be provided to enjoy breakfast on board. On arrival in Holyhead, we continue our journey home.

Day 3 – Giant’s Causeway, Derry~Londonderry & Donegal We make our way to the Giant’s Causeway, noted for the enormous volcanic columns that make this National Trust-owned site such an incredible place to visit. From here we head to Derry~Londonderry – the only completely walled city in Ireland. We enjoy a guided walking tour, where highlights include the gleaming Peace Bridge across the River Foyle and St Columb’s cathedral. Later, we check in to our Donegal hotel where we spend the night.

The most complete castle in Ireland and meticulously restored to reflect the grandeur of its past inhabitants, it's fascinating to imagine how lords and ladies once lived in this 15th-century gem. We then enjoy a two-course lunch plus tea or coffee at Durty Nelly's, an atmospheric pub that dates back to 1620! Be sure to ask about the legend of Durty Nelly herself before we continue to our next location. The afternoon is spent in historic Limerick, set on the River Shannon and overlooked by the mighty 13th-century King John’s Castle. Day 1 We catch the ferry from Holyhead to Dublin, where our tour manager joins us. We continue onwards to our hotel in Bantry, our base for the next four nights. Day 2 – Blarney Castle & Bantry Leaving the hotel we head to the medieval Blarney Castle, one of Ireland’s most famous visitor attractions. Here we have time to kiss the famous Stone of Eloquence, as well as browse Blarney town’s Woollen Mills retail outlet. We then continue on to our hotel in the charming coastal town of Bantry, our base for the next three nights. Day 3 – Killarney & the Ring of Kerry We head to pretty Killarney, famed for its jaunting cars (horse-drawn carts) operated by the local jarvies that take visitors on guided tours of the town. Our tour manager then takes us on a scenic guided tour of the Ring of Kerry, journeying through an untouched landscape of tranquil lakes and a skyline of dozing mountainous peaks, passing through charming towns such as Killorglin, Waterville and Kenmare.

Afterwards, we board the small ferry boat which takes us to Garnish Island, a tranquil island garden located in the sheltered harbour of Glengarriff in Bantry Bay. The world-renowned gardens contain an incredible range of exotic species that flourish in the unique microclimate. Back at the hotel in the evening, we enjoy an Irish coffee-making demonstration.
Garnish Island Day 4 – Beara Peninsula & Garnish Island This morning we head out on a scenic drive of the wildly beautiful Beara Peninsula which stretches out into the Atlantic Ocean. The breathtaking rural scenery includes mountains and valleys rich in archaeological sites such as mysterious stone circles, picturesque villages and towns and a spectacularly rugged coastline.
Day 5 – Dublin (with optional guided tour £19pp) Checking out of our hotel, we travel to Dublin where we spend an afternoon at leisure. We continue to Strokestown Park, an Anglo-Irish estate consisting of a Palladian-style Georgian house, as well as gardens and the National Famine Museum. Our last stop of the day is the famous Old Kilbeggan Distillery, the country’s oldest licensed distillery. Established in 1757, it’s now one part museum and one part distillery with authentic features on display such as the 19th-century waterwheel, offering the perfect chance to learn all about the traditional Irish whiskey-making process.
