AS TIME GOES BY
Dona Eugênia, widow of Dario's son, takes over the farm. She designs Ypióca's first logo – and the same strokes are still used today!
1843
1846
Our story begins with a family. Upon arriving from Portugal, Dario Telles de Menezes buys a small farm at the foot of the Maranguape Mountains in rural Ceará. This is where Sítio Ypióca is born.
Three years later, the first liter of Ypióca is distilled and sold per "canada" (5 liters).
1903
Her son, Paulo Campos Telles, is next to take over. His vision is to transform cachaça into a beverage appreciated for its quality.
Ypióca begins to be aged in balm barrels, a process that continues to this day.
The bottle’s iconic straw wrapping, hand-crafted by artisans, is launched that same year. It is now a worldwide symbol of the brand.
Paulo Telles creates slogans that soon become famous, such as "At home, at the bar, anywhere" and "Delicious national whiskey. "
The brand launches distinctive labels.
Ypióca is the first cachaça to leave Brazil's borders and is exported to Germany.
1968
Paulo steps down and is replaced by his eldest son, Everaldo Telles.
1970
Ypióca distribution goes nationwide. Now it has a new slogan: "Brazilian Passion"!

Since every celebration calls for a toast, let's toast to everything we have to celebrate.
How about a toast to our story? Or should that be our stories, because after 170 years, there are countless reasons that call for a story to be told, heard, and shared, accompanied by a glass of good-old Ypióca. We’ve lived so many great moments, haven’t we?
That moment relaxing at home at the end of the day, or in that packed bar surrounded by voices. That moment when your team wins the game after a penalty, or the joy of meeting up with an old friend. That moment of watching an epic sunset on a beautiful beach, surrounded by those you love, swinging to samba with your feet in the sand. That moment at a dinner party, or with typical cuisine on a date at a seaside restaurant
How about a toast to our beloved Ceará? That's a must. This state, our motherland, has given birth to so much talent. There is a long list of poets, artists, cuisine, festivities, musicians, comedians, and actors that showcase the best of popular Cearense culture to the four corners of the world.
That's what Yipicóca does too, isn’t it? The pride of our state's art and culture is contained in every bottle, in our iconic straw-wrapped Reserva bottle, which to this day is still handcrafted by artisans in the countryside of Ceará using straw from the Caranúba palm. And it's conquering the world.
Let's not forget to toast to our beloved Brazil.
This endless Brazil, its vast land, its immense nature, its wealth of beauty and its most prized assets: its people, who come together in the spirit of joy, dancing their sorrows away to make light of shared adversities and celebrate the wonders of life. All this is to say that Brazil is almost synonymous with Ypióca. If Ypióca represents this joyful spirit, wouldn't that be the perfect description for this country? The joyful spirit of these encounters, stories, traditions, and cultures is the essence that gives birth to the flavors and sensations of Brazil. As we raise our glasses for a toast, we celebrate the pride of being a part of these flavors. Of belonging to this land, to its people.
We celebrate the pride of being part of the history of the drink that is one of the symbols of our people and identity.
We are proud of making cachaças that are enjoyed and respected by people of all tastes. Doesn't all this call for a toast? Of course it does.
A toast to Ypióca. A toast to the flavors of Brazil.
