Julien’s invites a community of collectors and fashion aficionados to bid, participate, and express their style—whether through avant-garde statements, haute couture elegance, effortless denim cool, or the bold glamour of icons who took center stage. This sale celebrates the legacies of Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Cher, Britney Spears, Victoria Beckham, and Amy Winehouse, featuring extraordinary pieces that continue to captivate and shine in the spotlight.
This curated auction includes treasures from Dee and Tommy Hilfiger’s private collection once belonging to Marilyn Monroe, as well as Elizabeth Taylor’s famed jewels, including her exquisite collection of fine jewelry and her 1964 14K gold clutch emblazoned with “Liz” in diamonds. The collection also highlights dazzling designs by fashion’s ultimate showman, Bob Mackie, such as Cher’s iconic 2002 “Turn Back Time” catsuit and leather jacket, alongside Britney Spears’ rhinestone bra, originally crafted by Mackie in 1981 for the Vegas variety show Jubilee.
Luxury handbags take center stage as well, featuring coveted Hermès designs alongside statement pieces from Chanel and Louis Vuitton. From floor-length Victoria Beckham gowns to Amy Winehouse’s signature platform Louboutin’s, and striking runway looks from Miu Miu and Paco Rabanne, this sale is a celebration of personal style and the magnetic allure of the public’s attention...step into the limelight to own a piece of fashion history.

Fashion, at its most audacious, is a rebellion against the ordinary. This collection embodies that spirit, showcasing designs that are daring, innovative, and undeniably captivating.
Miu Miu’s Fall 2010 Runway Look is a study in contrasts. A mauve A-line shift dress is adorned with delicate silver-tone rosette flowers, while a contrasting blush collar with a floppy bow adds a touch of whimsy. This ensemble is a testament to Miuccia Prada’s ability to blend innocence and sophistication, creating a look that is both playful and refined.
The avant-garde, a restless spirit, thrives on colliding eras, as exemplified by Prada’s 2016 gold brocade coat and Pierre Cardin’s 1969 vinyl maxi-coat. Prada’s piece, a shimmering anachronism, is a “vagabond’s” garment, a layered exploration of female history and fragmented identity, repurposing opulent brocade into a narrative of restless wandering. Conversely, Cardin’s futuristic vinyl coat, a monolithic vision of the space age, is architectural engineering, a technological extension of the self, rejecting ornamentation for streamlined efficiency. These garments – though decades apart – both challenge conventional notions of clothing, pushing boundaries and illuminating the complex interplay between past, present, and future, proving the avant-garde’s enduring power to disrupt and provoke.

The pinnacle of fashion is haute couture, where artistry and craftsmanship converge to create garments of exceptional beauty and elegance. This collection celebrates that tradition, showcasing pieces that are both timeless and contemporary.
A Louis Vuitton skirt suit from the Fall 2004 collection, designed by Marc Jacobs, embodies the brand’s heritage of luxury. The fitted jacket, with its black mink collar and cuffs, is paired with a voluminous circle skirt featuring a black net overlay. This ensemble is a testament to Jacobs’s ability to infuse classic silhouettes with a modern sensibility.
Giambattista Valli’s Spring 2013 Haute Couture coat dress is a masterpiece of draping and construction. The asymmetrical design features a gathered tulle overlay that adds a touch of ethereal beauty. This dress is a study in contrasts, blending sharp tailoring with soft, flowing fabrics.
Paco Rabanne’s 1999 Spring Haute Couture chain mail cocktail dress is a testament to the designer’s unconventional vision. Crafted from a mesh of red, blue, pink, and black chevrons, this sheath-style dress is a symphony of color and texture. It’s a piece that commands attention, a reminder that fashion can be both beautiful and provocative.
Bob Mackie’s influence on stage fashion is undeniable. His 1985 Embellished Evening Gown, with its sheer bodice, feather-like motifs, and asymmetrical skirt, is a testament to his artistry. A version of this gown, worn by Cher to the 1985 Met Gala, is a masterpiece of design, blending glamour and sophistication.

Marilyn Monroe Jeans;
20th Century Fox, 1954. A pair of classic denim blue jeans; three front pockets, zip fly, button marked “Foremost J.C.P. Co. [J.C. Penney Company], two back pockets with a double line of horizontal yellow stitching, evident tailoring at waist and hips; inside label reads “1-68-1-0435 Helen /Thurston A-713” [Monroe’s stunt double]; small rip on back left side under the pocket, purposeful distressing on the front legs; worn by both Monroe and her double as “Kay Weston.”
Evidently, Marilyn and Thurston must have interchanged jeans during production because this pair ended up being in Marilyn’s possessions when she died in 1962. The waistband and the hips have been taken in on this pair, likely for Marilyn’s exact measurements, which is possibly why she took them home with her after filming wrapped. Decades later, in October 1999, world-renowned clothing designer Tommy Hilfiger won these jeans at the Christie’s New York auction of Monroe’s personal property. He had them framed in a shadowbox which hung in his office for over 20 years, until now when he decided to offer them in this auction. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit NEXT for AUTISM. This lot comes from the Personal Collection of Dee and Tommy Hilfiger.
