A Mysterious Dutch Still Life – A theatrical floral design by JUB Holland and landscape designer Carien van Boxtel for Keukenhof 2025. A layered spring scene rich in depth and contrast: a diverse mix of tulips and naturalising bulbs, where deep reds and nuanced pink tones act as subtle invitations, brings the poetic beauty of 17th-century floral still lifes to life.

FOUR GENERATIONS OF CRAFTMANSHIP
SINCE 1910
JUB Holland is a leading family business in the bulb sector, active since 1910. As Royal Supplier of Colour, a Keukenhof exhibitor from the very beginning, and the main construction site for the Flower Parade of the Bulb District, JUB is rooted in the craft. For four generations, expertise, innovation and a love of nature have shaped everything we do. You’ll see that continuity in our quality, in the way we work, and in the long-standing partnerships across Europe.
THE SUPPLY CHAIN IN-HOUSE
JUB Holland is one of the few companies in the sector with full control of the chain. Breeding, growing, trading and packing take place within one organisation. That means we know what performs — and what doesn’t — and translate that into dependable, sustainable choices. On our own 25-hectare nursery we grow top-quality tulip, daffodil and camassia bulbs, fully MPS-A and On the way to PlanetProof certified. It keeps us transparent and flexible — from bulb to presentation, from landscape to retail.
BREEDING WITH VISION
As a partner within Remarkable Tulips, we work with other leading bulb growers and exporters on new, strong and exclusive tulip cultivars. With a focus on resilience, performance and distinctiveness, we develop varieties ready for tomorrow’s demands.
KNOWLEDGE MADE VISIBLE
With over 800 varieties and mixtures, plus our own trial garden, knowledge at JUB never stands still. We share and deepen that expertise through research partnerships, the annual JUB Study Days, roadshows, trade fairs and presentations — keeping craftsmanship not just preserved, but continuously evolving.
LANDSCAPE IS TAILORED
No two locations or green projects are the same. Climate, soil, use and management all contribute to success. JUB Holland translates ambitions regarding colour, biodiversity and climate adaptation into plantings that work in practice — from parks to verges, from country estates to business parks.

PUBLIC GREEN SPACES
Our bulbs and mixtures are selected and composed for a wide range of landscape applications. Naturalising species, a growing organic range, and carefully built mixtures and combinations provide guidance for design
INNOVATION THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
JUB developed bulb-planting machinery back in the 1990s for fast, accurate planting under turf. Today we combine that experience with modern, sustainable planting methods and design tools such as the FlowerDesigner App and the Bloom Calendar fan. Design, planning and execution come together in solutions that make sustainable planting possible at any scale.
and maintenance. This results in robust plantings with long-lasting flowering, ecological value and management that is in line with practice.

Design
The demand for long-term flowering in public spaces is increasing. Residents want colour and experience, decision-makers seek biodiversity gains, and site managers demand practical feasibility. It is precisely in this mix of interests that it is valuable to have a quick overview. With two complementary design tools, JUB Holland makes ambitions concrete and choices substantiated, in collaboration with our specialists.

Shifting to extensive maintenance
FROM INTENSIVE MOWING TO FLOWER-LED MANAGEMENT
Maintenance pressure, drought and biodiversity targets call for a different approach to verges and lawns. Moving from intensive mowing to an extensive regime creates space for more nature value, more seasonal experience and less maintenance pressure. Flower bulbs give a quick, dependable start — visible for months, without complex management.
WHAT IS THE AIM?
• Faster visible results with fewer interventions
• Lower maintenance pressure: less mowing, reduced disruption to the grass
• More biodiversity: nectar, habitat and species variation
• Greater visual impact and stronger public support: a verge with added value, not only a tidy look
WHY FLOWER BULBS WORK
• Early start: providing nectar and pollen for bees and pollinators when it is scarce
• One planting moment, months of effect — low maintenance
• Naturally pairs with native herb mixes and extensive grass management
• Scalable: from trial plots to kilometres of verge
Tip: Start with areas where mowing is costly and delivers little return: verges, embankments, central reservations, roundabouts and lowfertility lawns.

The Vibrant Verge
THE CONCEPT OF THE VIBRANT VERGE
The Vibrant Verge transforms monotonous grass verges into flowery ribbons teeming with biodiversity. By combining wild flower mixtures with a custom flower bulb mix developed by JUB Holland, a robust planting is created with up to eight months of flowering, from early spring until late autumn. With just one mowing per year, this concept offers long-lasting colour, low maintenance costs, and a valuable food source for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

Climate-conscious planting
FLOWER BULBS AS FLEXIBLE BUILDING BLOCKS IN A CHANGING CLIMATE
Drought, heavy rainfall, and temperature fluctuations are increasingly testing greenery. With the right variety selection, flower bulbs continue to perform reliably – in sandy roadsides, stony urban areas, and damp lowlands. Thanks to their efficient growth cycle, strong root structure, and energy reserves within the bulb, they flourish where other plants struggle.
PRAIRIE-MIXTURE
• Tolerates high temperatures and dry conditions
• Strong rooting and minimal water requirements
• Abundant flowering, combines well with perennials
BULBS FOR DRY LOCATIONS:
Tip: Ideal for sunny, dry verges, poor soils, stony areas and extensive plantings without irrigation - such as prairie plantings, rock gardens and sunny embankments.
From a salty piece of no man's land to a thriving landscape – view the story
• Long flowering period with a naturalistic character
Tip: For natural plantings in rainwater buffers or low-lying areas. Perfect for wadis (temporary water retention), stream valleys, and moist park areas.

Well-being in public spaces
FLOWER BULBS AS A STARTING POINT FOR WELL-BEING AND EXPERIENCE
Greenery contributes to health, connection, and enjoyment, especially when it invites people to become part of their surroundings. Flower bulbs play a special role in this: seasonal, accessible, and visible to everyone. With this in mind, JUB developed two well-being concepts that not only showcase greenery but also allow people to get involved and experience it.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT | PLANTING TOGETHER
Planting flower bulbs as a catalyst for comunity engagement
Planting flower bulbs together makes greening understandable and accessible to everyone. Actively involving residents in the planting process fosters ownership, awareness, and appreciation for green spaces. What goes into the ground grows into support, pride, and long-term commitment to the surrounding environment.
IDEAL FOR
• Residential neighbourhoods – increasing engagement and connection
• Schools and associations – hands-on, educational and easy to implement
• Care and community settings – inclusive outdoor activity for all abilities
• Projects with climate and biodiversity objectives – accessible participation with lasting impact
THIS IS HOW “PLANTING TOGETHER” TAKES SHAPE
JUB Holland's participatory packaging makes active involvement in greening simple and practical, with a visible result that adds colour and biodiversity to public spaces for years to come.
JUB PICKING HAPPINESS | PICKING TOGETHER
Flowers to pick. Moments to share.
"JUB Picking Happiness" brings a new, soft layer to public green spaces: places where people can pick their own flowers. These floral ribbons bring colour and connection: neighbours connect, memories are shared, and residents, visitors, or patients experience the joy of giving something beautiful or taking it home with them.
IDEAL FOR
• Residential neighbourhoods – strengthens community spirit and active resident involvement
• Care and remembrance settings – a personal, uplifting gesture that brings people outdoors
• Public parks and estates – more experience, seasonal feeling and accessible greenery
• Locations with biodiversity ambitions –picking mixtures with bee- and butterflyattracting species, designed for people and nature
THIS IS HOW “PICKING TOGETHER” TAKES SHAPE
• Colourful, ready-made picking mixtures with a long, succesive flowering period
• Tailor-made picking garden with advice on variety selection, height structure, and colour themes
• Optional: information panels at the picking site
Mechanical planting
EFFICIENT, PRECISE AND SCALABLE
Mechanical planting is the most efficient way to install large quantities of flower bulbs in public green space. Using specially developed planting machines, between 10,000 and 25,000 bulbs per hour are placed quickly and accurately beneath turf, at the required density and with minimal disturbance to soil and surroundings.
Ideal for roadside verges, lawns, parks and estates, roundabouts and embankments.
THE BENEFITS AT A GLANCE
• Reduced labour costs through high planting speed
• Clean, uniform planting result
• Minimal disturbance to turf and soil
• Ideal for large areas and long stretches
• Consistent planting depth, variable planting density. NOW ALSO: naturalistic planting pattern possible
Filling the machine with flower bulbs
Planting feet with rotating blades cut through the sod
Bulbs are conveyed via a conveyor belt to the planting feet
Sod is returned to its place by a roller and flattened
Fertilisation & mowing
MOWING
For naturalising bulbs in grass, mowing can generally commence six to eight weeks after flowering. During this period, bulbs build sufficient energy reserves for strong performance in the following season.
Exception: Allium may be cut back immediately after flowering, as the foliage has already died back.
Appropriate fertilisation and careful mowing management are essential for strong flowering and the sustainable return of flower bulbs year after year.
FERTILISATION
For long-flowering mixtures, apply an organic-mineral fertiliser (7-6-12 + 4MgO, 5 kg per 100 m²).
Autumn – during planting
When planting mechanically, fertiliser can be applied simultaneously, manually or via a dosing system integrated into the planting machine. This ensures targeted nutrition from the outset, delivered precisely where it is needed.
Spring – for additional support
In spring, an organic fertiliser may be applied, preferably at the emergence of flowers and just before rainfall, ensuring nutrients are readily available for a vigorous and even result — season after season. The organic component is converted by soil life into humus, improving soil structure and enhancing nutrient retention.
PRACTICAL SUPPORT
Further practical guidance on fertilisation, mowing management and planning can be found on our website. Scan the QR code or contact one of the JUB Specialists for tailored advice or full project support.

Our Eye-Catchers are designed for places where you want to hold attention just a little bit longer. Carefully composed in colour and height, with flowering timed to let the setting speak at exactly the right moment.
A DutchMysterious Still Life at Keukenhof
Eye-catchers Keukenhof
From Sketch to Spectacle Carien van Boxtel and the JUB team
As one of the earliest exhibitors, JUB Holland has been closely connected with Keukenhof in the Netherlands — the world’s finest spring garden — for decades. Each spring, Keukenhof opens for eight weeks as an international showcase for the bulb sector: a setting where innovation, quality and design come together, inspiring millions of visitors from across the globe.
Since 2019, we have shaped a distinctive and recognisable design signature together with garden and landscape designer Carien van Boxtel. Her designs read like paintings — layered, surprising and carefully composed in time, colour and rhythm. The combinations are planted by the Keukenhof garden team in three precisely structured layers, a craftsmanship
that reveals itself in every flowering phase. These designs for Keukenhof have been translated into a practical collection within our Eye-Catcher mixtures: exclusive designs developed for locations that are meant to stand out. From show border to landmark green projects — with the same impact and refinement, scalable for wider application.
The exclusive ingredients in these blends require strict planning. Contact us ahead of time to ensure availability.

A MYSTERIOUS STILL LIFE 2025
A theatrical, layered spring scene full of depth and contrast: a diverse mix of tulips and naturalising bulbs that, with deep red and pink shades like subtle seductions, evokes the poetic beauty of 17th-century flower still lifes.

Inspired by the many shades of indigo, a diverse mixture was created. The naturalising bulbs provide blue tones, while the mauve and lilac shades of tulips and the moon yellow shades of daffodils provide depth and colour contrast.
Carpets, woven in repeating patterns based on floral motifs and rich, colour schemes, formed the inspiration. Saturated colours of burgundy red, black, purple, bronze, ocher, warm orange and brown were chosen, with contrasting accents of warm yellow and cream.

Wild Garden is an ode to William A. Robinson, (1838 - 1935) the Irish gardener who was at the origin of the concept of the Cottage Garden. He started planting mixed flower borders in a more casual way. He was a great advocate of the use of naturalising bulbs.

SPRING IN THE DUTCH BULB DISTRICT
It all comes together
Keukenhof is open each spring from mid-March to mid-May. For current opening times, tickets and visitor information, please visit: www.keukenhof.nl/en.
The JUB border (exhibitor number 14) can be found in a prominent location within the park — close to the iconic windmill, just across the bridge. An ideal spot to experience the design in its full layering and flowering sequence.
Keukenhof is located just around the corner from JUB Holland in Noordwijkerhout. A visit to the park combines perfectly with a tour of our company and trial fields in bloom, where you can see how our mixtures are composed and assessed in practice. In spring, JUB also hosts the build-up days of the Flower Parade of the Bulb District — a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse of a regional icon and a true Dutch Intangible Cultural Heritage event, where craftsmanship, planning and creativity come together.
Would you like to make the most of spring in the Bulb District? Scan the QR code to explore the possibilities or contact one of our JUB Specialists (see page 143).

Naturalising bulbs in Heemparken Amstelveen, the Netherlands
Naturalising bulbs
A TIMELESS COLLECTION FOR RESILIENT LANDSCAPES
Naturalising bulbs have formed the quiet understorey of woodland planting, parks and country estates for generations. They flower early, retreat in good time and strengthen the landscape without dominating it.
JUB Holland’s naturalising bulb range is broad and specialised, carefully composed for natural planting schemes from sun to shade. In collaboration with the Amstelveen botanical gardens — where ecology, management and practice come together — a unique collection has been developed to create green spaces that evolve into robust, self-sustaining natural systems.
IDEAL FOR:
• Woodland planting and shaded margins
• Ecological zones and parkland
• Historic gardens and estates
• Naturalistic urban green space under extensive management
A VALUABLE ADDITION TO YOUR PLANTING PLAN
• Naturalising and self-sustaining
Gradually spreading through underground propagation and/or selfseeding.
• Early flowering and ecologically functional
Supporting biodiversity by providing food for early pollinators during a vulnerable period.
• Brightens (semi) shady spots
Developed for woodland edges, parkland zones and sheltered sites.
• Long-term presence
Returning year after year without leaving persistent above-ground bulk.
• Supporting natural succession
Fading after flowering and allowing space for herbaceous layers and groundcover
• Naturally combinable
An integral part of layered, species-rich and extensively managed vegetation.
Naturalising bulbs are durable building blocks for landscapes defined by rhythm, calm and resilience.

Assortment
A VERSATILE COLLECTION OF FLOWER BULBS SHAPED BY CRAFTSMANSHIP, PROVEN IN PRACTICE
JUB Holland’s range of loose flower bulbs is broad, carefully curated and focused on reliable performance in the public green space. From botanical selections to bold statement bloomers, and from early spring accents to pronounced seasonal highlights, each cultivar is purposefully chosen for vitality, uniformity and practical suitability in both design and maintenance. This is not a random assortment, but a collection in which every bulb fulfils a clear function.
CAREFULLY SELECTED RELIABLE IN EVERY DESIGN
“My work begins when the bulbs arrive. We inspect quality and varietal authenticity by taking samples. During storage, we maintain optimal climate conditions to ensure maximum flowering performance. The bulbs are tested throughout, as certain diseases only become visible at a later stage. Before dispatch to our customers, they undergo a final check. The result is a high-quality product that brings spring to life.”
JUB Holland’s organic bulb range has been developed in close collaboration with our SKAL-certified growing partner. Selected varieties are contract-grown, enabling us to expand our reliable organic assortment in a focused and consistent way, year after year. This close partnership ensures continuity, transparency and full oversight of the entire cultivation process.
MAKING AN IMPACT TOGETHER ORDER YOUR ORGANIC BULBS EARLY
Organic bulb production still represents a relatively small, though steadily growing, share of total output. By ordering early in the year, you help us consolidate demand and secure volumes with our organic grower in good time. This creates scope for forward planning and investment, while ensuring availability for your project. Want to find out more? Scan the code.
A RANGE BUILT ON PARTNERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY
“Organic bulb cultivation is about balance. Together with our grower, Anthon Bom, we focus on soil health, crop rotation and natural resilience. All bulbs are grown without chemical crop protection products, in healthy soils and with respect for people, plants, animals and the environment. In this way, we are building an organic range you can rely on.”

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE AND SUPPLY OF FLOWER BULBS JUB HOLLAND
1 Jac. Uittenbogaard & Zonen B.V. and its affiliated companies are referred to as ‘JUB Holland’. JUB Holland is affiliated with Anthos, the Dutch sector organisation for companies that trade in flower bulbs and arboriculture products. Anthos has drawn up general conditions for the sale and supplying of flower bulbs.
2 The Anthos terms and conditions and these supplementary JUB Holland terms and conditions apply to all contacts, contracts and trading with JUB Holland, which are hereinafter referred to together as ‘the applicable terms and conditions’.
3 JUB Holland sends the applicable terms and conditions to its potential contractual parties upon the initial contact, so that they are able to take note of the applicable terms and conditions before a contract with JUB Holland is concluded. The applicable terms and conditions can also be found on the JUB Holland website.
4 JUB Holland explicitly rejects all general terms and conditions (for sale and purchase) from contractual parties, which means they do not apply to contacts, contracts and trading with JUB Holland, unless agreed otherwise in writing beforehand and signed by JUB Holland.
Agreement
5 An agreement including the applicable terms and conditions is concluded by means of a written confirmation by JUB Holland of an order or delivery, or by the unconditional and unamended acceptance by a contractual party of a proposal, offer or quotation made by JUB Holland and/or by the retention of products from JUB Holland.
6 Quotations and quotes made by or on behalf of JUB Holland are made without obligation and have a validity of 30 days, following which time quotations and quotes made by JUB Holland no longer apply and are invalid.
Supply and delivery
7 Products are supplied ex works JUB Holland in Noordwijkerhout.
8 If JUB Holland is unable to supply due to force majeure, for example due to disappointing harvest results, then JUB Holland reserves the right to cancel or adjust the agreement in whole or part.
9 Any delivery time quoted is deemed to be approximate and is never a strict deadline. JUB Holland is not liable for any injury (including harm, losses and damage) that results from late delivery.
Prices and Payment
10 The prices for JUB Holland-products are quoted in euros (€) exclusive of VAT and exclusive of additional costs, including those for packaging, inspections, levies and taxes. The price list issued by JUB Holland states the prices and the minimum order quantity per product.
11 Payment must be made no later than 30 days after invoice date. If payment is made within eight days then a 1% payment discount is given. If the payment deadline is exceeded then the contractual party is automatically in default, in which case JUB Holland is entitled to charge the statutory rate of interest and statutory payment collection costs, to suspend subsequent deliveries or to require payment in advance from that date.
12 JUB Holland retains ownership of its products until all its invoices have been paid in full. JUB Holland is entitled to fetch back products that have not been paid for on time. A contractual party is not permitted to resell unpaid products or to use them or provide them as collateral.
13 JUB Holland is allowed to require payment in advance from new, foreign or poor paying contractual parties before the delivery of products is made.
Complaints / liability
14 A contractual party is required to inspect products for detectable defects as soon as they are delivered and to inform JUB Holland of these in writing within 7 calendar days. After this period, the products will be deemed to comply with the customary quality requirements and all complaints will be invalid.
15 Claims and/or complaints do not entitle a contractual party to suspend payments.
16 JUB Holland is insured against injury or damages that result from an attributable failure for an amount of 5 million euros per year. In addition to Article 8.2 of the Anthos terms and conditions the liability of JUB Holland is limited to the net invoice value of the products, directly related to the claim, in the last 3 (three) months and with a maximum of € 25.000,-.
The full applicable terms and conditions of sale and supply of flower bulbs JUB Holland, including the ANTHOS conditions, can be found on the website: www.jubholland.nl
