Hello Thunder Family!

It was nice to see Thunder fans present at the Stade-Jean-Bouin for the game on Sunday! Although the Thunder lost 27-35 to the Paris Musketeers, it was an incredible second half comeback from the boys and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts!

Overall, despite a rough first half for the defense, the offense showed out in the second half with 213 yards in total. With 286 total yards on the day, both sides of the ball had an impressive showing! Despite the Musketeers scoring 28 points in the first half, the Thunder responded well with 27 points combined in the 3rd and 4th quarters. QB Jakeb Sullivan had a great game, with 206 total passing yards, going 17-32 on attempts with a 104.23 QB rating. Despite being sacked twice by the Musketeers defense, Sullivan threw for 3 touchdowns with 0 interceptions. The Thunder rushing leader on the day was Albert Wiesigstrauc, with 69 yards on 7 attempts. Notably, Wiesigstrauc ran for 59 yards and caught a 32-yard pass for 2 touchdowns on the day in the second half. WR Aaron Jackson led the day in passing yards, averaging 17 yards a catch for 85 total yards and a touchdown. Jackson’s touchdown came at a crucial moment for the Thunder with 01:43 remaining in the third quarter. The 61-yard touchdown pass connection from Sullivan to Jackson broke the scoreless streak and helped the thunder rally 22 more points in the game. Ludvig Myren led the defense on the day, with 13 total tackles, 6 solo and 7 assisted. Myren had a 40-yard interception which helped the offense get back on the field. The Thunder had three sacks on the day, with Kyle Kitchens, Emil Hovde and Niels Schroedter with one each. The Thunder still sit second in the Eastern Conference with 4 games to go in the season. It was a great effort all around, and we know that there are crucial games ahead that must be won in order to clinch a playoff berth!

After 3 road games, the Berlin Thunder finally return home to the Frederich-Jahn Sportpark to face the undefeated 8-0 Vienna Vikings on Sunday, 21 July at 13.00 CET. It will be a crucial matchup and we hope to see everyone there!
