Hello Thunder Family!
It was nice seeing a lot of you Thunder fans travel to Ústí nad Labem for Saturday’s game against the Prague Lions! The Thunder won 34-7 with both the offense and defense dominating on both sides of the field. We currently sit second in the Eastern Conference behind the Vienna Vikings, who have currently held their undefeated streak to 6 games.
The Berlin Thunder had 440 yards in total on the day, with 436 on the offensive side of the ball. The Thunder finished the day with 327 passing yards combined from both Jakeb Sullivan and Len Kohn.
QB Jakeb Sullivan had a career game on Sunday, with 312 passing yards and a rushing touchdown for a QB rating of 119,76. Sullivan threw for two touchdowns on the afternoon, with a 14-yard rushing touchdown in the 2nd quarter to put the Thunder up 13-0 on the Lions. On attempted passes, Sullivan went 19-35 for an accuracy rate of 9.45 yards per passing play.
The Thunder scored a touchdown in each quarter of the game, the 4th time they have done it this season. * WR Aaron Jackson led all receivers on the day with 133 receiving yards in total. Jackson returned a kickoff from the Lions for a 79-yard touchdown run in the 2nd quarter to put the Thunder up 13-0.
WR Robin Wilzeck and RB Albert Wiesigstrauc had 55 and 45 yards on the day respectively. QB Jakeb Sullivan led all rushers on the day with 40 yards and a 14-yard touchdown run in the 2nd quarter to put the Thunder up 13-0.
On the defensive side of the ball, LB Ludvig Myrén led the day on tackles with 14 in total and 11 solo tackles. Edge rusher Emil Hovde and S Viljo Lempinen each had 8 total tackles on the day, with 4 solo tackles for Hovde and 8 for Lempinen.
Next weekend, the Berlin Thunder head to Székesfehérvár to take on the Fehérvár Enthroners at First Field, with a 13.00 CET kickoff time. The Thunder then travel to Paris where they take on the Musketeers in an inter-conference showdown. The next Thunder home game will occur on the 21st of July, when they face the conference-leading Vienna Vikings at the Frederich-Ludwig-Jahn Sportpark in Berlin. We hope to see everyone there!
