Hello Thunder Family!

It was great seeing the Thunder Fan Club out in force on Sunday in Székesfehérvár, where the Berlin Thunder defeated the Fehérvár Enthroners by a resounding 47-0. It is the first time that the team was able to hold the Enthroners to 0 points, and it is a great achievement getting to 4-3 on the season with a winning record over .500. We currently stand second in the Eastern Conference behind the Vienna Vikings, who have maintained a perfect record for the past 7 games. Although the sweltering heat basked First Field with sunlight, the Thunder didn’t let it get to them as they were resilient throughout the game.

The Thunder had 410 total yards on offense, with 181 total passing yards and 229 total rushing yards. QB Jakeb Sullivan finished Sunday’s game with 181 passing yards, averaging 6.96 yards per pass and finished with a 104.81 quarterback rating. The Thunder went 6-10 on third down conversions with a 60% conversion rate.

RB Tim Schulz led the running and offensive attack for the Thunder on Sunday, with 154 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns on the day, helping the Thunder slice their way through the Enthrones defense. Overall, the Berlin Thunder scored 6 rushing touchdowns on the day, with offensive stalwarts Adrian Peter, Albert Wiesigstrauch and Aaron Jackson also scoring on running drives. Along with a rushing touchdown, WR Aaron Jackson led all receivers on the day with 80 total yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Thunder defense finished with 3 sacks on the day, with the defense totaling 34 total tackles on the day. The Berlin Thunder scored 5 touchdowns in the second half, owing to the defense swallowing up any threat from the Enthroners attack.

The Berlin Thunder look to capitalize on our winning record when we face the Paris Musketeers this Sunday, the 14th of July at 1 PM at the Stade Jean Bouin. With Paris set to host the Olympics in a couple short weeks, it is an exciting time to be in the City of Lights, and hopefully the Thunder will use that energy to come out with another crucial win. Currently, the Thunder are in the hunt for a playoff position and will need all the support they can get! After the Paris game, the Thunder return home to the Frederich-JahnSportpark to face the undefeated Vienna Vikings in a game that could decide the fate of the season. Tickets are on sale for next Sunday’s matchup, and we hope to see all of you there for an important game on the calendar!

Hope all is well with everyone, and safe health

Go Thunder!
