Our cover star, Ashley Floyd, embodies this spirit beautifully, bringing grace, confidence, and timeless glamour to every page. DRESSING FOR THE LAST DAYS OF SUMMER THE PERFECT BRIDGE BETWEEN AUGUST AND AUTUMN

There is a certain romance to the final weeks of summer. The days remain bathed in golden light, yet the evenings arrive a little earlier, carrying with them the first whisper of autumn. It is a season suspended between two moods—one still carefree and sun-drenched, the other elegant, polished and quietly sophisticated. Fashion embraces this transition like no other moment on the calendar. Rather than abandoning your favorite summer wardrobe, August invites you to reinterpret it through thoughtful layering, richer textures and a deeper, more refined palette. It is less about replacing pieces than giving them a new perspective.

THE LUXURY OF LAYERING

Transitional dressing begins with intelligent layering. Lightweight fabrics remain essential, but they gain dimension when paired with soft tailoring and knitwear. A crisp linen shirt worn open over a silk camisole instantly feels more sophisticated when finished with an oversized blazer draped over the shoulders. Likewise, a flowing slip dress acquires entirely new character when styled beneath a fine cashmere cardigan or an unstructured jacket. The beauty of layering lies in versatility. LINEN NEVER TRULY LEAVES

Linen has long been considered the defining fabric of summer, yet its appeal extends well into early autumn. Instead of bright whites and coastal pastels, choose linen in earthy neutrals such as sand, camel, olive, chocolate or deep navy. Wide-leg linen trousers paired with a fitted knit polo or a silk blouse create an elegant silhouette equally appropriate for city lunches or weekend escapes. Tailored linen suits also remain an exceptional investment, especially when accessorized with leather loafers instead of sandals.

A RICHER COLOUR STORY

The vibrant palette of midsummer gradually gives way to warmer, more nuanced tones. Burnt terracotta replaces coral. Olive green overtakes mint. Chocolate brown begins to share space with ivory, while burgundy quietly emerges as one of the season's most luxurious accents. Think of nature's own transformation during golden hour—the amber sky, bronze landscapes and soft shadows. These colours naturally complement one another and lend every outfit a refined sense of maturity without feeling overtly autumnal.

Monochromatic dressing also becomes particularly effective during this period. Layering varying shades of beige, caramel or olive creates visual depth while maintaining understated elegance.

The effortless summer dress remains one of fashion's greatest essentials, particularly when reimagined for transitional weather. A floral midi dress gains sophistication when paired with a tailored blazer and leather belt. Satin slip dresses become unexpectedly modern layered beneath oversized knitwear or worn with structured jackets. Shirt dresses, meanwhile, continue to prove their versatility from office meetings to weekend dinners simply by changing footwear and accessories. The objective is longevity—investing in pieces capable of evolving alongside the season rather than disappearing with the final beach holiday.

ACCESSORIES WITH PURPOSE

Gold jewellery adds warmth against neutral fabrics, while silk scarves tied around the neck, handbag or ponytail introduce subtle colour and personality. Sunglasses remain indispensable, yet richer tortoiseshell frames begin replacing playful summer colours. Belts also reclaim their place, defining relaxed silhouettes and adding architectural structure to flowing garments.

our career blends fashion, entrepreneurship, and a strong digital presence. What first inspired you to pursue modeling, and when did you realize it could become your profession?

My creativity and love for art led me to choose this job, which is a passion! Every successful model develops a signature style. How would you describe the Carolina Casiraghi aesthetic in three words? I would describe her as simple, sensual, and mysterious. The fashion industry has evolved dramatically thanks to social media. How has Instagram changed the way you connect with brands, photographers, and your audience? In a very natural way, I believe it is fashion that chooses you, and that is what gives me the confidence that I know how to do my job. Confidence is one of the qualities that shines through in your images. Where does that confidence come from, and has it always been part of your personality? It stems from who I am; at eighteen, I was living alone in London, and I believe that knowing how to be alone fosters strength and self-assurance. Luxury and elegance seem to be recurring themes in your work. What does true elegance mean to you beyond fashion and designer labels?

Artificial intelligence exists in cinema and post-production, but also in medicine. I believe the key is to calibrate it correctly and avoid transforming people. Obviously, I am not in favor of AI when it is used to generate models that do not exist; boundaries must be set, and we need to opt for high-quality post-production. That said, I would add that a photograph is always the result of both a skilled photographer and post-production work—so images have always been subject to filters, edits, and the like. Is there a particular photoshoot, campaign, or collaboration that represents a defining moment in your career, and why does it stand out? There are many, but I don't have a single favorite shoot; however, I’ve always been lucky enough to feel at ease on set. When you're not in front of the camera, how do you like to spend your time? What passions or hobbies help you stay inspired?

Elegance is innate; it cannot be learned or feigned, and it has nothing to do with luxury or a logo. Behind every polished editorial is a great deal of preparation. What does your routine look like before an important photoshoot or campaign? I sleep a lot and take walks in the greenery, but above all, I listen to a lot of music; there is no ritual, just normality. Fashion is becoming increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence. As a model, do you see AI as a creative opportunity, a challenge, or a combination of both?

I adore Antoine Verglas's vision in photography. Many aspiring models follow your journey online. What advice would you give to young people hoping to build a successful and authentic career in today's fashion industry? I recommend studying and reading a lot; fashion should be a passion, but not your sole occupation. I work in business and have built two thriving companies; I enjoy being on set, but I haven't made it my primary job. Looking ahead, what exciting projects, ambitions, or personal goals can your followers and our readers expect to see from Carolina Casiraghi in the coming years? The novel I’m writing, and the fact that I’m both radiant and mysterious at the same time—there are certainly many projects awaiting me.
