Yr7-9 Swimming Carnival
Term 1 2026

INTRODUCTION
The Middle School Swimming Carnival is an intra-house carnival for years 7 – 9 students. The carnival takes place at the Forest Pines Pool, where students and staff walk from John Paul College to the pool, for a day of swimming races, novelty events, relays and a touch of pool-side dancing. Please read this document carefully, as it indicates your role/s for the day, as well as whether you are required to walk to the pool or drive to the pool to assist with set-up. Points from this carnival contribute to the Rick Van Duppen Shield, awarded to the House with the most points from various events throughout the school year.

WALKING TO/FROM THE POOL
At 8:25am, when the music starts, please move to the designated meeting area for the House you are assigned to walk with (if you are not already there).
Staff members listed in bold are responsible for marking the roll in both the morning and afternoon. When marking rolls, it may be easier to filter by house and/or year level for efficiency.
Staff in bold are also responsible for ensuring that all teachers assigned to walk with their House have arrived before departing.
All staff listed are expected to walk back to JPC with their House at the conclusion of the event, return to the same meeting point, and supervise students until the final bell. Please ensure the PM roll is completed.
Every effort has been made to allocate staff to walk with their designated House; however, this has not been possible in all cases. Apologies for any inconvenience staff allocations have been balanced to ensure adequate supervision across all four Houses.
