INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION The annual House Music Competition is a cherished tradition at John Paul College, bringing students and staff together to celebrate creativity, performance, and community spirit. This vibrant event is a highlight of the school calendar, where each House choreographs, rehearses, and performs a music and dance routine in response to a set theme, showcasing their talents and collaborative energy before the entire school. This day is not only about performance—it is a celebration of our College’s culture and identity. In the spirit of Ngargee (Bunurong for “a gathering for celebration”), the House Music Competition is an opportunity for students to express themselves, embrace fun and creativity, and build house pride in an inclusive and joyful environment. Theme: This year’s theme is “Pop Icons” — each house has chosen one artist to represent. The theme was selected by our student leadership team, and each house’s song is chosen collaboratively by House Leaders and student representatives. Purpose of the Day: To celebrate the JPC community and the arts through performance, collaboration, and house spirit. We thank all staff for their support in helping create an atmosphere that honours this tradition and encourages student participation, silliness, and celebration.

STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS INTRODUCTION Brief Overview of Details and Logistics: Food: A sausage sizzle will be available at lunchtime. Volunteers will be required to help run the stall. Lunchtime Activities: Outdoor art activities (e.g., chalk drawing, rock painting, face painting) with support from designated staff and year 12 student leaders Karaoke in Quad 1– Pop Icon themed! Supervision: Lunchtime: Staff listed will supervise activities and food stalls. Period 5: Students involved in performances will rehearse with House Leaders and specific teachers. All other students will remain in pastoral, completing music trivia with rostered staff. House Music Trivia Resources Period 6: All staff are required to attend and supervise the House Music Competition in the kealy centre. End of Day: Students return to pastoral groups (with same teacher who supervised them for period 5) for roll marking at 2:50pm before dismissal at 3:00pm.

Whether you create a mini masterpiece or a simple design, rock painting is a relaxing way to get creative, catch up with friends, and take home a unique keepsake from the day.
Sausage Sizzle Fuel your day with a classic Aussie BBQ! Our sausage sizzle stall will be serving up sizzling snacks and good vibes. All proceeds go toward supporting future arts initiatives — so grab a snag, and feel good doing it. Cost: $2 each Veg anf GF options available.

Caritas Caritas Australia works hand in hand with the most marginalised communities in Australia and overseas, to confront the challenges of poverty. Caritas helps to strengthen and build locallyled programs, so that all people are working together, with shared hope and compassion, to reach their full potential.
MacKillop Family Services MacKillop Family Services work with families and communities so that children can thrive. Programs include Out-of-home care, Disability, Youth Support, Education and Family Services. All services have a goal to prevent harm, to support healing and to respond where the need is great.
JPC Community Companion Van The Community Companion is a food and outreach van that has been providing food, drink, necessities, conversation, and support to those less fortunate in Frankston since 2015. The van was a vision and initiative of the students of Turner House. The Companion runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings welcoming donations and volunteers from the College and greater Frankston community.
