Method 1. Try to log in to your system as an administrator

At first, click on the Start menu.

By right-clicking the QuickBooks menu, select Run as Administrator.

You’re logged in as an administrator now.

Try to update the application again. If you still get the error, try method 2.

Method 2. Turn off User Account Control settings

Follow the steps given below to turn off the UAC settings:

Hit Windows and R keys simultaneously to open the Run window.

After that, type Control Panel and click OK.

Choose User Accounts and click User Accounts (Classic View).

Next, select the Change user account control settings option.

Shift the slider to Never Notify and click OK to turn off the UAC. Move the slider to Always Notify and select OK to turn on the UAC.

Now, restart the system.
