Solution 1- Rename the Transaction log file and Network descriptor file

The transaction log (.tlg) file stores all the transaction records that occur in the software and the Network descriptor (.nd) file is responsible for locating the files and initiating a multi-user network. In case any of these program files is damaged or missing from the system, the multi-user network will suffer, and the company file will become unreachable. Follow the steps given below to rename the QB files-

1. Use the file explorer to open the QuickBooks folder.

2. Right-click on the file with the extension .tlg and an identical name to your company file.

3. Select Rename and add ‘.old’ at the end of the file name.

4. Rename the .nd file using the steps above. Reopen QuickBooks and try to open the company file again. Move on to the next method if the error still appears while opening the file.
