Welcome friends and neighbors to our 14th annual Partners in Progress Production sale here at McEntire Red Angus. We hope you know how much we appreciate everyone who supports our program. We love the cattle business and the families that it brings to our Ranch. It’s what we do day in and day out, except for a few sporting events with the kids every so often!

We are excited about the offering of bulls we have for you this spring. These bulls were weaned on the 1st of October and developed here at the ranch. We have had them on a high roughage ration on a 110-day test. The carcass ultrasound data came back with great results, as you will be able to see in the bull information listed with each lot. We understand that the Red Angus Breed is becoming more and more popular and that you have many options when it comes to choosing your herd bulls. We invite you out to the ranch to look over the bulls and heifers and hopefully you will find something that will bring value to your own operation and move your program forward. Good Bulls make great cows, and our mating decisions have been based on producing next generation females to be more efficient and productive than their mothers. The Red Angus cattle have been known for good dispositions, calving ease, adaptability, and keeping your operation in the black! A good set of Red Angus tagged calves will top the sale no matter where you go.

We will be selling 79 herd bull prospects that we feel will make a great addition to a seed stock producer or to a commercial cattle operation. We will also be selling 20 registered Red Angus replacement heifers from the heart of the breeding program. Additionally, we will also sell 36 commercial Red Angus first calf heifer pairs and 100+ commercial Red Angus open heifers. These heifers have been on a complete vaccination program and have been checked by Dr. Richard Prather prior to the sale for reproductive soundness.

Optimism continues to thrive within our U.S. beef industry! This momentum keeps surging and setting records every day from coast to coast and border to border, despite comments from country leadership and negative discussions within the packing industry about closing production and fabrication facilities. The enthusiasm among producers is very contagious, as nearly all of them have received more for their work and investment than at any other time in their lives. The daily conversations among producers are driving investments in next-generation genetics and focusing on improving through genetic acquisition rather than sticking with the traditional status quo price restrictions. Several of these producers will turn to family outfits like McEntire Red Angus to take that next step in the right direction—and rightfully so.

Randy and Crystal have taken their operation to the next level by acquiring key genetics in herd sires over the past few years. The facilities at McEntire have also been upgraded to better serve their current customers and to expand in the future, giving larger ranching operations confidence by providing the same quality in larger volumes. The foundation of this operation is strong and deeply rooted in a commercial focus, which is why they keep making the trip to the “edge of the west,” known as Sweetwater, Oklahoma.

The focus has always been to offer a product in a red hide that can improve any program, commercial, or seedstock. Searching for and acquiring genetics that keep the program moving forward is an ongoing process. Randy has done a great job of maintaining the cow herd’s quality and genetics. Each year, pressure is applied to ensure the female base is resilient enough to withstand the unpredictable environmental conditions of Western Oklahoma. This environment can be the hottest and driest place on the continent or host a record blizzard with sub-zero wind chills for an extended period. The cattle must be low-input and self-sufficient, yet are also expected to produce heavy, market-topping calves at weaning, and/or herd sires that sire premium progeny with the performance and efficiency that give that producer a reputation for having quality stock.

SEMEN INTEREST

McEntire Red Angus will retain 1/2 semen interest in all bulls sold.

SEMEN TEST

All bulls will be semen and Trichomonas tested prior to the sale and are guaranteed to be fertile.

INCENTIVES

Free delivery on bulls within 300 miles of the ranch. This does not include heifers. All trucking on females are the buyer’s responsibility, but we will be glad to assist with trucking plans. If bulls cannot be taken sale day or arrangements have not been made with us within the first week for delivery, the seller can house bulls at McEntire Red Angus until pick up at a rate of $6/ day. However, we will not be responsible for sickness or injury.
