LEED certification awarded to 14 projects, including three newly-built office buildings In 2Q26, fourteen projects acquired LEED certification, bringing the total number of LEEDcertified projects since 2009 to 406, representing a 3.6% q-o-q increase. The total number of CASBEEBD (CASBEE for Buildings) -certified projects declined by 1.9% q-o-q. Meanwhile, CASBEE-RE (CASBEE for Real Estate) -certified projects rose by 4.2%, driven by sustained certification uptake in the multi-family sector.

WELL Platinum certification awarded to three office projects Four projects obtained WELL certification in 2Q26, lifting the total number of WELL-certified projects to 78, a 5.4% increase from the previous quarter. Fitwel-certified projects remained at five, with no new certifications recorded for the nineth consecutive quarter. The total number of CASBEEWO (CASBEE Wellness Office)-certified projects decreased by 2.5% q-o-q.

Key Metrics

As companies place greater emphasis on employee health and well-being, demand for third-party certifications that assess building health performance continues to grow. WELL, the world’s most widely adopted health-focused building certification, is distinguished by its balanced evaluation of both building features and operational practices, making it appealing across industries. In 2026, two new programs were introduced: WELL Real Estate Rating, focusing on building features, and WELL Operations Rating, focusing on operational practices. Both are designed for use through WELL at Scale, which enables organizations to apply WELL standards across multiple properties. This offers costeffectiveness and is likely to support broader adoption going forward.

CASBEE-RE certification was acquired by 151 projects in 2Q26. By rank, A-rank accounted for 91 projects (approximately 60%), while S-rank accounted for 59 projects (nearly 40%). By sector, multi-family led at 88 projects, followed by offices at 28 and logistics facilities at 17. The total number of CASBEE-RE-certified projects reached 3,255, a 4.2% increase q-o-q.

Twenty-two projects acquired CASBEE-BD certification in 2Q26. By rank, A-rank accounted for 16 projects, constituting the majority. By sector, logistics facilities led at 12 projects, followed by offices at eight. Due to a higher number of expired certifications relative to new acquisitions during the quarter, the total number of CASBEE-BD-certified projects decreased by 1.9% q-o-q to 505.

Fourteen projects acquired LEED certification in 2Q26. Interior Design and Construction (ID+C) for retail stores led with six certifications. Additionally, one office building each in Tokyo, Osaka, and Sapporo, along with one data center in the Tokyo area, obtained Building Design and Construction (BD+C) Gold certification. The total number of LEEDcertified projects since 2009 has reached 406, reflecting a 3.6% q-o-q increase.

Four projects acquired WELL certification in 2Q26. All four were office properties, with three achieving Platinum certification. The total number of WELLcertified projects, including one undergoing second recertification, rose to 78, marking a 5.4% q-o-q increase. No projects obtained Fitwel certification in 2Q26, marking nineth consecutive quarters without new acquisitions. The total number of Fitwel-certified projects remained unchanged at five. Five projects acquired CASBEE-WO certification in 2Q26, all achieving S-rank. As expired certifications outnumbered new acquisitions during the quarter, the total number of CASBEE-WO-certified projects decreased by 2.5% q-o-q to 196.
