In the 1940s, before founding his legendary silk company, Jim Thompson served in “The Office of Strategic Services” (O.S.S.) the U.S. intelligence agency operating in Asia during World War II. His missions took him across the region — from Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) to Indonesia, and eventually to Thailand, the country that would capture his heart. The O.S.S. was a world of secrets, coded messages, and quiet alliances — a world Thompson knew well. Long after the war, his life remained shrouded in mystery, culminating in his unexplained disappearance in 1967 while traveling in Penang and the Cameron Highlands. The O.S.S. Bar draws inspiration from this shadowed past — where history, intrigue, and craft intertwine.
