PLUSH HAZE
“A good general cannot be broken by his strength, nor can he be rolled up by his softness; therefore, he uses weakness to control strength, and softness to control hardness.”
------The general’s park by Zhuge Liang

PLUSH HAZE
Fashion is more than a lifestyle, and this idea led to the birth of the plush haze. The plush texture of spring meadows, fluffy mohair yarns and soft but sturdy cotton yarns are fused together to create the plush vase, which can be found in glass bottles everywhere. The plush vase is soft and cozy, and it also gives the discarded glass vase a stylish look for better recycling.
TECHNIQUE
We mainly use crochet technique, all products are handmade. Crochet technique is an ancient handcraft with a long history and a slow fashion craft. In addition to being environmentally friendly and sustainable, it is our goal to pass on and promote this traditional craft.

COLORS&PATTERNS
The colors and patterns of these pieces are inspired by Fauvist artist Henri Matisse and abstract artist Mark Rothok, respectively.
SHAPES
The silhouettes of the products are derived from traditional vase shapes such as round, oval, square and body cross sections. The crochet technique gives the fabric enough stiffness to support the vase shape. However, due to the fact that the products are handmade, not all of them are perfectly axisymmetric.

THE INSPIRATIONS

The plushy meadow seemed like nature’s own plush toy, beckoning us to lounge and relax. The plushy lawn invited us to lie down and gaze at the sky, its comforting softness enveloping us.

Glass bottles commonly found in supermarkets have good hardness, shape and texture are great vase replacement bottles, as well as recycling of used up glass bottles.

Traditional vases, lanterns, drums, and cups usually have rounded bottoms, and their cross sections are square, trapezoidal, circular, oval, and other basic shapes.
The crochet vase silhouette is also a combination of these shapes.

Henri Matisse’s strong colors and wild brushstrokes made a strong visual impact. His clip art provides the graphic inspiration for the collection.

Mark Rothko’s irregular and rectangular color block paintings and the simple, loose brushstrokes on the edges of the blocks give the images a “plush” visual effect. They are reminiscent of various plush fabrics.

Hong Kong artist Winus Lee segmented the vase-shaped objects from different angles, then decorated each section with hand-painted blue patterns. The combination of the blue pattern and the white color inspired me to use a combination of yarns with different materials, textures and touch.

Although the color field paintings created by Mark Rothko all have a simple composition of two or three colors, the combination of dark and light colors, and cool and warm colors brings a strong visual effect.
