Rep. Daub said the battle against racism, bigotry and violoice is being won in this country, and it's being won because of the persistence of groups like the AntiDefamation League. "Perseverance is the key to the struggle," he said, adding that the ADL's long struggle against violence and prqodke suggests that perseverence is "your hallmark and one secret of your success throughout this century." He said, violence against Jews in the United States unfortunately must still be watched. "It is not certain that , the fikleouB face of Anti-Seiiiitiam has been laid to rest here. However, it is the international vicdence against Jews that is the most intense. In this conneedon, Israd is at the forefront of the strug'.gle bacauae larad is the historical home of Judaism and its spiritual fond," he added. . "Unfortunately, these attributes also make it the relentless targot of bigots and the dqiraved." "Next month I will be traveliJig to Israel on a tour to observe firsthand the security aituation in the region. •| am giiliigH iititiiii a lni<a aiiiiaiitaialiHg iif lliniiiiii pie and th«.dreaiiQ which make uti tUs tiny, but tough, democracy floatiDg in a sea of hostile dictatorshqw. "It's said that the life of America is but a'short story compared to the novel-length experience of our European farefathers. The life of Israel, conceived just under 40 years ago, is even shorter than that of AmerictL."
