By Morris Maline The Jewish community of Omaha soon .'will'be given an opportunity to participate in the absorption of a "unique tribal society" into the modern state of Israel. Federation President Howard Kaslow referred to "Operation Moses"—the ongoing effort to bring many thousands of Ethiopian Jews to Israel. Mr. Kaslow said at the annual meeting Sunday that the Omaha Federation has

pledged $174,000 to help fund this humanitarian effort, and that almost half of that amount had already been raised in quiet fundraising. . The "Operation Moses" announcement introduced a serious note into the meeting, described earlier as a "celebration of volunteer activity." Nearly 300 attended the program at the Jewish Community Center. In the main business of the fast-moving program, major awards were announced and

Brent Musburger, CBS host and managing editor of "The NFL Today" will be the sports celebrity guest at the annual stag produced by local chapters of B'nai B'rith. According to Mark Goldstrom and Mark Sweet, co-chairmen, the event will take place Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in Peony : Park.
