He was an agent with Massachusetts Life InGurance Co. and was staff supervisor in the Omaha agency. Active in the Jewish, community and a member of Beth El Synagogue, Mr. Rosen served on the Board of Trustees from 10341973 and is a current board member. He haa been Beth El Men's Club president, treasurer and membership chairman. Mr. Rosen served as president of Cornhusker Lodge, B'nai B'rith, and co-chaired the men'a di-

"When you look at our community — and the feeling people have for it and for each other — it's impressive," he said. "For a group of 6000 Jews, we get a lot done and we're known nationally a3 a great place. We accomplish a' lot becauoo we care for ons another. I'm looking forward to being part of that." Mr. Rosen's responsibilities include the overall direction and coordination of the Foundation as a part-time employee until the organization warrants a full-tims position, Mr. TVachtsnbarg said. Mr. Rocsnwill work with Foundation! leaders and the Foundation investment, education; professional and public relations committees.

Irish-American who has authored 20 books, the last three proven best sellers focusing on the lives of wealthy Jewish families. The son of a prosperous Connecticut family ho was sent to the finestboarding Bchools and colleges. He published his first novel in the late 1950s. "Our Crowd" which he \ *~ wrote in the 70s re— "—• ceiyed nationwide Groso acclaim and became a best seller. He followed this up with a second hit book "The Grandees." His latest work in the trilogy, released this past September, "The Rest'of Us: The Rise of America's Eastern European Jews," has been selected as a BookOf-The-Month Alternate selection.
