Federation closes successful 1983 campaign Men show increase over 1982

They met with government official)) and elected representatives to hear about United Slates-Israeli relations. "Raising money for .Jewish needs in important. Women raise $10,000 over goal tained. The Huxiiifss and Profetwtional Division was formed to allow working women an opportunity to participate in the Campaign. The event, held in the evening, attracted women who otherwise would not have been able to attend. "The forming of the Husinessand Professional Division i» iniportant to our community," said Suzie Singer, Vice-Chairman of the Campaign. "These women are insisting on being involved with the Camp/iign as well as other volunteer efforts. This division hu-s great potential for the future." Eighteen women took part in the second annual Women's Mission to Washington, D.C. They attended government briefingd and met with elected officials. "I was very proud of the women," said •leri Kaplan, Vice-Chairman of the Campaign and Mission Chairman. "They asked intelligent questions and made the people in Washington nwarc that the women in the Midwest nre informed on current events." The women mixed $321,222 for the Regular Campaign and $:i!),27O for the Israel Special Fund. "We nre extremely proud of the overall results," naid Caryl (Jreonbcrg, chairman of the Women'* Division. They did an excellent job of recruiting motivated workers." Several innovative ideas were tried this ycur including xmall division eventa and the creation of a Hu»in<'sH and Professional Division. Nine events with guest speakers were held. The women learned the rea«on« women'* contributions are vital to the wirvival of the Jewish people.
