Kallah participants to hear Dennis Prager
Community Service Citation More than 300 Jewish and non-Jewish business leaders were on hand Dec. 1 when B'nai B'rith presented its 1981 Americanism Citation to Eugene C'onley, president of Guarantee Mutual Life Company. At his side is his wife, Emma Grace. The award, presented annually for achievement in efforts to improve relations between all segments of the Omaha community, dates back to 1932. Rabbi plans Israel trip H a I) b i Kenneth Bromberg has announced that he will conduct his next adult pilgrimage to Israel March 14-29, and that the trip will be open to all. He said these periodic visits to Israel are planned to be the best kind of informal, experiential instruction in the life and people of Israel. "We attempt to cultivate as well a love and an appreciation of the land itself" he said.
Dennis Prager, director of the Brandeis-Bardin Institute in I/)s Angeles, author and lecturer on contemporary Jewish issues will be in Omaha for the annual Kallah Weekend Dec. 25-27. He will speak at Temple Israel, Beth El and Beth Israel synagogues and the Jewish Community Center in this retreat-like event sponsored by the Jewish Cultural Arts Council, according to chairmen Mike and Carol Katzman. The LOS ANGELES TIMES, in an article on Dennis Prager, described the 33-year-old philosopher, activist, writer and lecturer as "an amazingly gifted man" and "charismatic moralist," whose "mission in life has already been crystalized...to get people obsessed with what's right
