From grandparents to grandchildren, a I generations of the Omaha, Lincoln and Council Bluffs Jewish communities have been invited to participate in the joyous "double Simchas" celebration Tuesday, July 14 at the Jewish Community Center

The Groundbreaking for the HUD federally funded Livingston Plaza Apartments for the well elderly will begin at 7:15 p.m. at the rear parking lot area of the Jewish Community Center. That ceremony, which will be concluded in the theater, will be followed by the kickoff for the $3,600,000 campaign for the new Rose Blumkin Jewish Home. Souvenir shovels commemorating the groundbreaking event will be given to each family. An "honor guard" of high school and college students will greet and direct cars arriving at the Jerusalem street entrance to the Jewish Community Center. • This same "honor guard", in blue and white outfits, will carry in six gold shovels and the hard-hats which will be used for the groundbreaking ceremonies in the rear parking area of the JCC. Members of the "honor guard" include Alex Miller, Robert Greenberg, John Lohr, Jim Baker, Tom Baker, Jeff Epstein, John Glazer, Jim Glazer, Marshall Pred, Jeff Kirshenbaum and David Goldberg. Other "honor guard" participants are Suzy and Cindy U-hr, Amy Mann, Danny Kochman, Jim and Bruce Belgrade, Paula Friedland, Amy Kavich, Amy Frankel. Dcbby and Suzy Kirshenbaum. Kathy Kenyon, Barbara Forbes and Suzy Roffmun. . Also participating arc Arny and Jane Ncff, Becky Kozlen, Laurie Yampolsky, Debbie Levitan, Handy Greenberg, Larry Widman, Amy Bernstein, Pam Vcitzer, J.D. Gordman, Dana Wayne, Stacy Erman, Tobie Cohen and Lisa Glass. A number of "host families" will assist in the greeting of guests.

"No gift is too small. Every gift will be welcome," said Leonard (Buddy) Goldstein as he invited all members of the Omaha, Council Bluffs, and Lincoln Jewish communities to the Tuesday, July 14 "kick-off" for the $3,600,000 campaign to build the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home. Goldstein, chairman of the (.'enter for the Aging Finance Committee to raise funds (or the new 80-bcd long-term care facility on

the grounds of the Jewish Community Center, urged persons from all walks of life to attend this "once in a lifetime" happening the Omaha community. "While it takes large gifts to reach our goal of $3,600,000," Mr. Goldstein said,"if is important that every person, every family feel the need to give to the best of their financial ability to help us provide for the future well being of our elderly."

OneShoyelThree Simchas! The gold plated shovel which was used for the groundbreaking of the Jewish Community Center in 1972 will be ased for the ground-breaking ceremonies for the Livingston Plaza Apartments on Tuesday. It is planned to use this same gold shovel for ! the ground-breaking ceremonies for the Rose BlumkirwJewish Home when that "simcha" takes place. '

Goldstein said an interpretive multi-media presentation will open the campaign portion of the "double simcha" evening after which members of the audience will have an opportunity to ask questions about the plans they have just been shown. Individual pledge cards will be given to those present in order to make their private commitments. There will be no public announcement of gifts and no "calling of cards." Mr. Goldstein and Harlan Noddle, co-chairman of the Phase III Steering Committee for the Center for the Aging with Is Tretiak, announced that permanent memorial opportunities for the new home will begin at $1,000. AJI gifts pver $1,000 will be recognised by an appropriate permanent memorial plaqu$. Payment arrangements for up to three years will be accepted for all pledges. . .
