The award consists of a certificate, plaque, and $500 honorarium for achievement In the conception, design, and implementation of any application of Instrumentation and automatic control in any field of endeavor covered by the scope of the ISA Industries and Sciences Department, within a single industry or equivalent application rather than an Innovation which has applicability across a wide spectrum of use. Gideon Ben-Yaacov His man-machine Interface allows the power plant operator to communicate more easily and effectively with the computer system and power plant. It is anticipated that the new system will improve power generation efficiency and plant reliability and reduce the cost of energy generation. The system Is also expected to Improve safety In nuclEa'r" power plants by providing the operator with more meaningful information regarding plant abnormalities. Mr. Ben-Yaacov has also developed a computer system feature for retrieval of trip data, using the data trend
