No one knows better than you," Fein wrote to Begin, "how others who do not share our axiomatic commitments may seek to exploit our sometime disagreement. It seems to me that the only response we can make is the response we'have always made — that is, to continue to work and live in a way that makes clear to one and all what our central beliefs are." What's A Nice Jewish Girl Doing With a Bengal Tiger? ByCariCohn Can you imagine a "nice Jewish girl" from Omaha taming a Bengal Tiger? That's what Sharon Nogg may be doing in two years after graduation from Institute for Exotic Wildlife Management and Training. Miss Nogg, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvln Nogg, graduated from Weslside High School in 1970. She went on to the University of Nebraska In Lincoln, University of Arizona, and World Campus Afloat. She started her studies in Pre-Veterlnary, but ended in Archaeology. For the last six years she was a surgical technician at Methodist Hospital after training in Omaha. Miss Nogg said, "animals are my first love. I showed horses for ISyears." That was not the end of her experience with animals. She also worked at Henry Doorly Zoo, and with a Veterinarian during high school and summer months. She said her experience helped her get into the Institute. The school Is located in Moor Park California, north of Los Angeles, and Is the only one of Its kind in the United States. It Is affiliated with the Moor Park Junior College, and students must be accepted into the college for admittance .into the Institute. "Its two year program teaches the training of Wildlife for Movies and Television. They have over 300 wild animals. We will be in charge of

raeli policy. It was plain from Begin's letter that the Premier had that ad in mind as much as the remarks attributed to Fein in his press conference. Begin wrote: "I permit myself to express astonishment why a man like you has to organize American Jews in order to publish a statement which lends — not, God forbid, intentionally — comfort to those who gleefully declared: look, the Jews of America are turning their backs on Israel. "Why should one act thus in the particular times that are confronting us? Do you not see what is happening in Copenhangen? Did you not read the Fatah Damascus resolution? Don't you hear the speeches from the rostrum of the United Nations? Do you, with your intelligence, not perceive that the whole purpose is to squeeze us into a thin strip of territory? What else has to be rendered in writlng'/trf ofally" to make you and, your 'colleagues understand that we are fighting for our lives?" Begin bridled against the use of the term "Greater Israel" In reference to his policies. It smacked, he wrote, of the wartime allied accusation that Hitler wanted to set up a "Greater Germany." The British Lord Privy Seal (Deputy foreign Minister) Sir Ian Gllmour was another who used that term. "The innuendo is clear. The purpose Is beyond doubt. Must Jews, pro-

fessors among them, lend credence to this nonsense...? It was absurd, Begin argued, to levy the "Greater Israel" charge against a policy which sought to retain Western Palestine — an area only 40 miles wide — under Israeli control." The Premier acknowledged the existence of the Palestinian problem but contended that it was of the Palestinians' own making, and that the Israeli autonomy proposal sought to alleviate It. "It was we, the disciples of Zeev Jabotinsky, who proposed this humanitarian idea. It was accepted in Washington and Cairo both

and we shall let no man distort It. "By the idea of autonomy, for the first time in their history, the Arabs will be able to live together with us in Eretz Yisrael in peace, in understanding, in freedom, In mutual respect and advancement, they themselves conducting their own affairs . . . Is npt this, our course, worthy of the support of a man who considers himself progressive? Is this chauvinism? Is progress embodied in the man who wants a 'Palestinian state' ruled by the PLO, as a jumpIng-off ground for the destruction of Israel. . .?"

Hilton Guide Omits Israel ATLANTA, Ga., (JTAJHilton International, the giant hotel chain, claims the omission of two Hilton hotels in Israel from its recently published Middle East edition of "Business Travelers' Guide," is a "must for doing business In the Arab countries," It was reported in The Southern Israelite by Vlda Goldgar, the editor and publisher of the weekly newspaper in Atlanta, Ga. The guide, a 40-page directory of information about Mideast countries and the services available in 10 Hilton ' hotels in the area does not include the Jerusalem Hilton or the Tel Aviv Hilton. Nor does an inside back cover list of 76

Hilton International hotels world-wide include the Israel hotels, Ms. Goldgar reported. "Does this mean that the Tel Aviv Hilton and the Jerusalem Hilton are mirages and do not exist?" That was the question asked Peter Mahler, Hilton International's director of-marketing for the Middle East after The Southern Israelite secured a copy of the guide. Reached by telephone in Hilton's New York headquarters, Mahler said, according to Ms. Goldgar, "This is produced (to be) widely distributed in the Middle East — not so much as far as Israel is concerned, but In the Arab countries — and we cannot distribute it listing the Israeli hotels."

We are always 'on call' for emergencies "The school is year round for two years and Includes
