Scholarships Mow Available For Israel Trip Scholarships for the 1978 Omaha Jewish Federation Israel Youth Pilgrimage are available and information may be obtained from Caryl Grcenberg at 3937240. The Department of Jewish Education through (he support of the Omaha Jewish Federation has supplied the scholarships through the local Omaha synagogues.
New Program for Older Adults Starts Dec. 14 at Temple Israel The second "Walk In Drop In Center" for Older Adults will be located at Temple Israel according to an announcement made this week by the Jewish Community Center Older Adult Committee. The first "Walk In Drop In" program of outreach to older adults was opened in June, 1970 at Beth El synagogue and will continue on a weekly schedule. Opening date for the new program has been set for Wednesday, Dec. 14. The full
day of activities will begin at 10:30 a.m. and include a hot luncheon at noon. Discussion groups, speakers, musical and health programs, cards and bingo will also be Included In the monthly program. S.L. Friedman Is Appointed ABL Chairman Sanford L. Friedman has accepted the chairmanship of (be A n t ! - D e f n m a t i o n League/Community Relations Committee of Omaha. Mr. Friedman, has served three years on the AOL/CRC. In noting the appointment, Leonard (Buddy) Goldstein, president of the Omaha Jewish Federation, stated "I am pleased with the announcement because Sandy Is an aggressive and. dynamic young nun. He will be a real asset.". Mr. Friedman, the executive vice president of Allied Insurers, has been active in Jewish communal life. In 1976, he was co-chairman for the Young Executives Division of the Philanthropies campaign^ ." For three years, he* was on the Athletic Committee of the Jewish Comunlty Center. This year, he is a member of the board of directors of the Omaha Jewish Federation. Mr. Friedman also serves as a member of the board of directors of the Girls Club of Omaha; - A graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha,-Mr. Friedman and his wife, Amy (Cassman,) live in Regency Place.
