Israel Gains Recognition By Portugal By Edwin Eytan AMSTERDAM, (JTA) Israel appeared to have made important diplomatic gains on two fronts at the meeting of world Socialist party leaders held here and attended byForeign Minister YlgalAllon. Prime Minister Mario Soarez of Portugal, announced that his country will recognize Israel and establish full diplomatic ties with it. Families Will Play In Sholom Aleichem By Shirley Rosenberg The World of Sholom A3sfcJasrn will be a family affair when presented on the Center Stage May 7-15. Rabbi Kenneth Bromberg of Beth El Synagogue appears in the play as Mendele, and his son Ef rem will play Molshe in the playlet "The High School". Miriam Shrler plays the part of the Goatscller in "A Tale of Chelm". Her husband Hy, Is cast as Bontsche Schweig, in the playlet of the same name. Fran.DeGeorge is the Defending' Angel in "Bontsche Schweig". "The World of Sholom Aleichem" consists of three short plays and a monologue that vivify the poverty, the faith, the sorrow, the acceptance — sometimes humble, sometimes proud, sometimes defiant — of enforced apartness of ghetto life. All the segments were written by the contemporary American television writer, Arnold Perl, on the basis of various stories originating in the ghetto. Federation Sponsors Workshop For Organization Leadership By Barbara Simon Ann Goldstein, Federation board member and chairperson of the board's community leadership program, has announced that May 2 and May 9 are the dates for an "exciting" two-part seminar/workshop, sponsored by the Federation for the community. The Interpersonal Communication Workshop, led by Professor John Wanzenreld from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, will take place at the JCC from 7 to 10 p.m. on the two Monday evenIngs. It will be a participatory, small group experience, according to Goldstein.
