OMAHA-Tbe youth of Omaha's Jewish Community will celebrate Israel Independence Day with a Walk tor Israel on Sunday.May 9 al 9 am. ; • . - . "'. The walk will cover almost IS miles on the west side of Omaha. All monies raised wjll go directly to the. Israel Emergency Fund for the Jewish Federation of Omaha.
Jeff Lowe, director of Youth Services of the JCC, said in announcing the walk, "While the Uds in the community have done all of the work on the planning of this project, we hope that families will all walk together. "We are hoping that-the walk shows the- Jewish community's solidarity with Israel".

Women's Telethon To Ring Sunday OMAHA - The first of three 1976 Women's Division Telethons — a major part of the vpmaha Jewish Philan-. tbioples ^Campaign; ~ is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to noon this Sunday, April 25. • According to Frances Fox, Telethon chairman, the first group of 10 women will make calls this Sunday, with--the Telethon to continue on May 2 and May 16 With other groups of women. The purpose was not to discourage people from viewing the game, but rather to focus attention on the problems of Jews in the Soviet Union. The fact that three million Soviet Jews and other minorities are denied the most basic .human rights should lead us to question whether there really can be any true cultural exchange or detente, a spokesman said. The plight of Soviet Jews cannot be Ignored, a c o m m i t t e e spokesman said.
