OvQr 500 Attend Dedication At Nlw Community Center OMAHA-Over 500 people were on hand Sunday, Oct. 5, for the Hanukat Habayit ceremony which began dedication proceedings for the New Jewish Community Center, About 100 gathered in the main entrance area as Center Board Chairman Charles M. Monasee and Rabbi Barry L. Weinstein of Temple Israel led the affixing of the main Mezuzah on one of the doorposts.

The $4-million-plus Center opened its doors this past spring Rabbi Weinstein, president of the Omaha Synagogue Council of Rabbis, offered prayera of thanksgiving and hope in the ceremony. "Our God and God of our fathers, grant that we may affix this Mezuzah to the Jewish Communty Center of Omaha with humble and grateful hearts. By Thy will we live and toil, by Thy grace we prosper and rejoice.
"TMs Mezuzah symbolizes the One God, our need to love Him and to obey His Law. We affix this Mezuzah to this Jewish Communty Center in order to remind us of our divine nature and the sacred duties of life. "We give thanks unto Thee for Thine unfailing love and every watchful care and for having been enabled to rech this joyful occasion in the life of our Jewish community." Center visitors Sunday also viewed the Sukkahs built for that holiday and SImchat Torah, they danced Israeli dances, watched the movie "By Bye Braverman", and viewed aquatics and gymnastic exhibitions in addition to touring the Library, nurseries and othr facilities.
